Chapter 4

The demo lasted for an hour. Gwyneth is very pleased with her students. They are all smart and funny. Sister Divina and Mrs. Dimaano seemed to be satisfied with Gwyneth as well. But the latter decided not to think too much and not hold her expectations high. She would rather save herself from further disappointment.

Gwyneth took out her phone and dialed Nick's number. It's still early so she thought of swinging by the mall to shop a little and meet up with him later for dinner. Nick's phone is ringing but he did not pick up.

"Never mind. I'll just call him again later since there's still time. "

With that, she resigned and walk towards her car. She saw Mary leaning on her car when she reached her parking spot. "What are you doing here?" Gwyneth did not mask her astonishment. "How did it go?" Mary asked back. Feeling delighted Gwen replied "Not bad." Mary smiled at her friend and said, "Let's eat. My treat."

"Really?"

They were used to going to dinner together almost every day. But lately, it had become an increasingly tricky matter for them. Mary picked up the underlying meaning to her friend's tone so she immediately grabbed Gwen's arm and acted coquettishly. "Of course! Why, don't you miss me? " Gwen raised her eyebrow at her friend. Laughing she retorted " You better get in the car before I change my mind."

Mary swiftly get in the co-pilot's seat and fixed her seatbelt. " Girl, come on. Are you still upset with me?"

Gwen started the car. Squinting at Mary she queried "Where to?" Mary stared at her for a moment before a sigh escaped her lips. "Bayside Shopping Center."

"Got it." She pushed the air conditioning button and adjusted the vents. She let the ice-cold.air rush to her face making her whole body cool as she maneuvered the car onto the main road.

Mary, on the other hand, is changing the radio excessively, trying to find a song that the both of them agree on. She grinned when she came across a Dua Lipa song. She took a side glance at Gwyneth who also squinted at her before turning her focus back at driving. As she lifts her head up and open her mouth, her voice escalates with every tune that comes out.

Seeing that her friend is in a good mood, Mary feels relax and calm. When stressed out, nothing helps the girls more than music. Soon, Mary can no longer fight the urge to sing along.

The girls had a blast. Whatever grievance they have are now totally out of the window.
