Selena Vanson, my adopted sister whom my brothers had brought back from the borders, has framed me. She claims that I've laced her birthday cake with wolfsbane. Hence, my brothers throw me into the silver mine, which has long since been sealed off. I scream for mercy while struggling against my bonds with all my might. But all I get is an icy judgment from Leo Wilde, my oldest brother who's the Alpha of the pack. He looks at me with hatred in his eyes, as though he's looking at a filthy beast. "Selena has been taking care of you without minding the fact that you're a low-tier Omega. Yet, you intend to poison her and even kill her wolf out of jealousy toward her blood purity! You deserve to die!" My other two brothers, Luke and Ryan Wilde, have even tied heavy rocks to my limbs for fear that I might escape. "You often act innocent and wronged, but the truth is, you have such a vile heart! Our family is embarrassed to have a lowly Omega like you!" "It's best if you die! No one here wants to see you ever again!" Even my younger brother, Rupert Wilde, who is raised by me, mocks me as well. "Lorraine, you should be sensible. Even without you around, Selly will still be nice to me. But without us, you're nothing but an abandoned mutt." After that, they close the mine's door on me. Silver powder soon rushes into my nose and mouth. I feel as though my body is lit on fire. Pain and agony soon engulf me whole. Once my brothers think that I've been punished enough and want to spare me from the torture, there's nothing left of me inside the mine pit but a pile of blood and bones.

Chapter 1

After I died, my soul got detached from my body. Unable to control my own movements, I began floating toward my family.

My oldest brother, Leo Wilde, brought out the precious medicinal herbs he had foraged on the snow-capped mountain. He took it upon himself to feed them to my adopted sister, Selena Vanson.

Meanwhile, my second brother, Luke Wilde, held Selena's hand gently. His gaze, while tender, was filled with affection for her.

"Thank goodness you made the discovery in the nick of time. The dose of wolfsbane is very little, so it's not lethal to you. Otherwise, you could've died."

My third brother, Ryan Wilde, sank down to his knees for once. He adopted a reverent stance while saying, "If anything were to happen to you, we wouldn't know what to do. I'll try to look for a cure for you just in case anything happens to you."

Leo reached out to wipe the traces of ground medicine from the corner of Selena's mouth, his gaze warm and gentle.

Rupert Wilde, my ten-year-old little brother, gave his favorite teddy bear to Selena.

"Selly, don't be sad. We'll stay by your side and protect you. Hmm… Just now, Lorraine was screaming in agony. She made it sound like she was suffering for real."

At that moment, everyone could vaguely hear the howls of a wolf pack. They perked up instantly so that they could listen to the howls better. In just a moment, the howls had completely dissipated in the wind.

Luke huffed. "No one will believe her. Why is she still putting up an act at a time like this?"

Leo and the others glanced at Rupert coldly, who sensibly clamped up.

"She reaped what she sowed. Honestly, she has no sense of what it means to be a member of the Lockwood pack—to think that she'd do something so despicable and shameless!"

Ryan added darkly, "Perhaps she has been planning to kill you for a very long time, Selena. That's why she pretended to be nice to you before us. That way, she can use the opportunity to poison you once we've left."

Selena was shocked by what she heard. She pretended to look shaken by the earlier ordeal while carefully maintaining a kind and merciful expression.

"I can relate to Lorraine. It's perfectly normal for her to hate me. Please don't get mad at her."

Luke just sighed softly in return. "Selena, not everyone is as kind and innocent as you."

"Based on Lorraine's personality, your plan will only backfire on her if you keep treating her like this. If anything, she'll misunderstand me and vent all of her frustrations on me even more."

Leo's expression darkened at her words. He slammed his palm onto the table angrily.

"Let's see if she has the guts to do that! We've taught her a lesson this time! She knows what we're capable of—I'm sure she won't pull the same stunt twice."

Then, Leo ordered Rupert to lock up the wolves I kept. If I didn't learn from my lesson and chose to commit the same crime, he'd kill them.

My brothers knew very well that I loved the wolves more than myself. To me, my brothers and my wolves were my most precious comrades.

When Rupert returned to the house, he told everyone that they were gone.

Disdain and impatience were etched across Leo's face. "What the hell is she up to this time?"

Luke tried to connect to my mind via the pack link, but he didn't receive any responses from me.

"That damn brat! Just what sort of method did she use to reject my mind link?"

The more Luke spoke, the angrier he felt. "Selena, you view Lorraine as your own sister, yet she shows you nothing but cruelty. Till now, she still refuses to admit her mistakes and change her ways!"

Selena just put on a pitiful facade. "This is all my fault. If not for me, things between you guys wouldn't have deteriorated like this."

Leo stroked her hair lovingly.

"Don't be silly, now. How could we ever blame you? You have such a kind soul that no one would ever have the heart to get mad at you."

Ryan agreed, "Precisely! I didn't expect that brat to hurt her own family out of jealousy! She deserves this outcome, and she has only herself to blame for this!"

Leo's expression remained stormy. "If she refuses to change her ways and learn from her mistakes, I'll exile her from the pack and terminate her pack affiliation. She'll be reduced to an unwanted mutt."

Having heard every single word my brothers said, I felt sorrow washing over me.

After all, Selena had sought out a witch to help her sever the mind link between me and my brothers.

If I guessed right, the wolves' disappearance had something to do with her.

If they could see me now, they'd probably think I had gone crazy based on the way I cycled through my emotions.

The five of us relied on each other heavily since young. We were a loving family. Back then, I was the apple of their eye. My brothers had pampered me to no end.

After that, they saved Selena at the borders. Since she was an orphan, my brothers decided to adopt her.

It was extremely rare for me to experience the feeling of having a sister, so I treated Selena extremely well. I did my best to make her feel at home and provide her with familial warmth.

Seriously, I treated her like she was family.

Little did I know that Selena grew jealous of me. She framed me multiple times just so she could steal my brothers from me. Not only that, but she also kept driving a wedge between my brothers and me.

This time, she succeeded in doing so. I ended up getting tossed into a silver mine.

I kept screaming for mercy, yet all I got in return was Leo's cruel judgment toward me. He glared at me with hatred shining in his eyes, as though he was looking at a filthy beast.

"Selena has been taking care of you without minding the fact that you're a low-tier Omega. And yet, you tried to poison her and even kill her wolf out of jealousy toward her blood purity! You deserve to die!"

Luke carried some rocks over to me. He and Ryan tied my limbs to the rocks before pushing me down the pit in the silver mine.

"You often act innocent and wronged, but the truth is, you have a vile heart! Our family is embarrassed to have a lowly Omega like you!"

"It's best if you die here! No one wants to see you ever again!"

Silver powder surged into my nose and mouth. Searing pain enveloped my senses, as though my entire body was lit on fire.

While I suffered, my brothers celebrated Selena's birthday with her. They watched her blow out the candles and make her wish.

Selena couldn't help feeling pleased while basking in the loving atmosphere.

However, all I felt was irony and ridicule upon witnessing this scene. My brothers had killed their own biological sister, yet they treated that sly vixen as a precious treasure.
