Once inside the house she threw the person she was carrying onto the couch panting. Looking at the sorry figure of that person she decided to help at first.
"Heavy!!" Elaine let out a grunt when the burden finally left her back.
The first thing she had to do was take off the clothes. Whether it was a girl or a boy, it didn't matter. She just wanted to take a good rest after taking care of the extra baggage she found on her way back home.
Under the pale white light emitted by old tube light a girl swiftly but carefully removed the heavy outer the person was wearing. She carefully swept the long hair away from the face which was stuck together because of blood.
"Oh! It's a man", she nonchalantly said.
But Elaine was dumbstruck looking at the face in front of her. Although the face had wounds, ugly cuts and swollen eyes it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Smooth forehead, sharp jawline, high nose bridge and thin lips that looked tempting. But she was attracted by the small mole under the left eye. She had never seen a person as beautiful as the one beneath her.
She unconsciously moved her fingers to touch it. When her touch landed on the face the person beneath slightly frowned. He seemed to be in pain. Of course he would be in pain considering the wounds all over his body.
She was curious as to why he had so many injuries but decided to suppress her curiosity for the time being. But more importantly who was he? The celebrity she knew were all plastics and makeups and had some flaws but this man was different.
"Did he really fall from sky?" Elaine asked herself but quickly swept away her useless thought.
She cleaned his face using a warm bath towel avoiding the cuts as much as possible. . She rarely got injured so she didn't have the required ointments and medicines. After making sure he was lying down comfortably she put on her jacket and went out to buy medicine in pharmacy. She had to walk for 10 minutes before she finally reached a small pharmacy.
"Good evening grandpa", she greeted an old man who was reading paper through his glasses.
He looked up and gave a smile. "You finally decided to show up. I was worried I might die before seeing you", he chuckled slightly giving her a wink.
"Grandpa, it's not like that", she pouted slightly.
"Ha ha, still acting cute to get away ", he was amused, "what do you need?"
"I need ointment for bruises and cut, bandages also one fever reducing drug and cold syrup." She thought for a while and asked for a painkiller.
The old man looked at her and asked worriedly, "are you sick? Or hurt?"
She smiled awkwardly and denied, "I just thought it would be better to keep such things you know. "
Since she seemed fine he decided to not pry further into her matters. After thanking the old man she returned her home as soon as she could.
She was surprisingly worried about the stranger she left back home. It was probably because she had no one around her for almost two years. Though that stranger was an extra baggage she picked up she still felt little bit warm at one corner of her heart.
When her lonely house appeared in the sight she quickened her steps. She slowly opened the door and tiptoed inside to the living room where the wounded stranger was lying afarid she might disturb his rest.
She stood at the entrance and looked at the empty room that has trace of not a single soul. She looked at the blood stained couch where the man had lied.
He was heavily injured but he must have had the strength to leave as soon as she was gone.
"He's gone." Elaine felt a little lost seeing the empty room. Like the room itself her heart also felt a little empty.
"Good riddance", she smiled but a flash of disappointment could be seen in her eyes. She dumped her bag containing medicine on the table and walked to her room to change her dress. But before that she took out the cover of the couch and threw it into a dustbin.
She felt angry for no reason, 'weird' she thought to herself. Remembering the white shirt she hurriedly took it to the washing machine and after making sure it was clean she hanged it to dry and as for the other clothes she will wash them when she felt like it.
She looked around at the lonely house and at the bag that contained medicines and bandages.
"Whatever." She threw it on the table and went upstairs to her room to study. She had lost her appetite. "I might just sleep it away, hmphh." Elaine comforted herself.
A splitting headache woke him up from his deep sleep. The man on the large bed in the middle of the room slowly opened his eyes. The room was dim but he still felt painful when the lamplight beside the table hit his eyes. He frowned slightly wrinkling the skin on his smooth forehead. He was in a daze before he had slight recollection of what happened but his memory was still a mess."Hiss ", he exclaimed through his clenched teeth and few beads of sweat could be seen on his forehead as he tried to get up on the bed.The slight rustle of the sheets and blankets on the bed was heard by the man who was dozing off on a chair nearby the bed.He quickly got up stretched his body to sit on the bed and asked worriedly. "Brother, are you feeling better?" But he noticed his clenched teeth and the painful expression and without second thought shouted at the top of lungs towards the door. "David, get Mr. Smith here this instant. Big bro has finally gained consciousness."
The air was getting chillier by the moment. When Chris finally finished his report he was sweating even though the temperature was cold both inside and outside the room. Clutching the file on his hand his expressionless face finally showed a trace of anger and irritation which disappeared as soon as he . He looked at the contents of the file. He felt the same headache and slightly rubbed his temple.Chris who was standing with his lips pursed in straight line looked worried and tried to move forward to support him but with a raise of his right hand motioned him to stand still. The man finally looked at the new man Chris had brought. The man slightly trembled when the sight of the man fell on him.Unable to withstand the pressure he knelt down immediately and begged for his life."Forgive me, Young master. I was wrong."The man quietly got up from the bed and walked towards the nearby window. As soon as he opened the window, a cold wind as cold as the man
It was still dark and raining outside. Elaine sat up in her bed panting. She wiped her forehead that was covered in sweat. Her throat had dried up so she got up to fetch water from the thermos she had kept on her study table. She was still shivering when she filled the glass with water. After taking a sip her throat felt a little better and she calmed down. "Guess I'm still caught up in the past huh…And here I was thinking I had already moved on." She laughed self-mockingly. Looking at the scattered books she felt a little bitter but soon it disappeared without leaving a trace. "I still have tomorrow. I will rather sleep…", she sighed. No sooner had she closed her eyes she was startled by the sound of thunder. If there was one thing that she was afraid of it was thunder and lightning. She curled up in her bed clutching the blankets and tried to cover her whole body with her once again shivering hands. It was worse when there was sudden blackout. In that dark
Mrs. Ron felt a slight tinge of pain in her heart looking at the delirious Elaine. In the warm silent room a girl clasping the hand of an old lady looked beautiful but each one was lost in their own thoughts. Once she felt her eyes and head clear up she saw the face of Mrs. Ron instead of her mom. Mrs. Ron looked with pity as the hopeful face of the girl turned into one with a disappointment. Elaine felt as if someone had poured basin of cold water on when she was sleeping cruelly bringing her back to reality.Still she managed to hold her disappointment inside her and spoke with a hoarse voice, "Grandma, what brings you here?" She tried to get up but her body was too weak to support her and her throat hurt as if needles were stuck there. She grasped her throat to ease the burning sensation even though she wasn't sure it will work or not."You were caught in rain and got cold and fever. But it's not serious. Take some food, medicine and rest and you will be good as new
In the Tyrell mansion Chris was anxious while his injured brother looked calm and confident as ever as he rested in his bed while checking the file of the company. He was pacing around the room until he finally got tiered and sat down in the chair beside the bed. He stared at the man in front him. "Aren't you at least a little bit nervous?""No"A simple calm no. That's all he got after asking the question in all seriousness. A few veins bulged in his forehead as he felt his anger rise beyond controllable."You….You just inherited the group and you are the target of all those savages. Instead of making alliance you actually sent him that parcel." Chris rubbed his temple. He rarely used informal language with him unless he was really pissed off.The man finally put down his file and looked at his brother who looked like an angry hamster with steam coming out of his temple. He smiled a little which was quickly replaced by the nonchalant face but Chri
"Daddy!", the little girl who was sticking close to her mommy meekly came to life as she ran towards the man."Ruby", the man cried with a voice full of affection as he hugged the little girl tightly in his arm. He checked to see if everything was fine or not. "Ruby, are you hurt? Did anyone do anything to you?" The man was flustered and once again kissed the little head in front of him."Honey", a silky smooth voice called him drawing his attention from his daughter to the woman who was standing in front of him. She was a fair and simple lady. He hurriedly went to her and hugged her tightly. "You okay? What are you two doing here?"Thousand thoughts were running in his mind as he resumed his action of hugging the two of his beloved people. 'He might be thinking to kill me before them giving them more mental torture or this devil might be thinking about ruining the life of these two people who were the apple of his eyes.' He tried to think positive

"Hello Mr. Isaac. I'm Franklin Loom, your lawyer for the hearing." Isaac sat in a chair separated by a glass partition from the man in a black coat wearing a dark framed glasses. "Hello, thank you so much for taking my case." Isaac sincerely thanked the lawyer."Enough with these pleasantries, let's get to the main point immediately." Franklin looked impatient and irritated for some reasons. 'Oh, seems like even my lawyer is not willing to fight for me.' Isaac was grim and even his last shred of hope was snugged out. He gave up. He directly told the lawyer, "What do they want from me? What should I do? Hmm?""Looks like you are not as stupid as you look", the lawyer finally showed a smirk. "So you plead guilty in the court tomorrow and that way everyone can have a happy ending." The lawyer leaned back on his chair as he said this.Unlike how the lawyer had first entered all gloomy and irritated when he left the meeting room he was in a good mood. He was th
