Watching the news with half the pack, my grandparents and my parents it was clear that everyone was worried, there had been a lot of rogue attacks lately but none as big as this, on the t.v. screen the news reporter was showing the aftermath of a bomb attack, there was devastation everywhere but nobody really understood why the rogues had now started coming out into the open.

Mom and dad had brought me and my twin brother Acre up learning about some war that's supposed to happen, we trained and trained but there's been no sign of a war so far so maybe this was it, maybe we could get this war over with and then I can get on with my life, Both me and Acre wanted to travel and I couldn't really see me being too far from him ever so we decided that we would go together, we loved the idea of seeing new parts of the world and if I'm honest I felt a bit suffocated here, don't get me wrong I love my family but they weren't the problem it was everyone else, because of who we were everyone our age treated us both as though we were special, you would think we were bloody gods or something it was irritating, the boys thought we were the height of cool so kept trying to get us to join there cool gang and the girls wouldn't stop throwing themselves at us, now don't get me wrong I'm not saying we were studs or anything it's just because of who we are and I guess it helps that we both have elemental powers well I say help but sometimes it feels like a curse, the sooner I got out of here the better.

Everyone had their eyes glued to the t.v. but by this point both me and Acre had lost interest, the reporter was just going over the same story about how a bomb had gone off in London ya di ya di yada, they ain't sure but they think it might be terrorists blah blah blah blah, honestly they haven't got a clue,

"But why would they?" my uncle Antony asks clearly shocked

"Because they are dirty dogs," I say in my best texas sheriff voice making Acre laugh

"Shut up" mom snaps and by the tone of her voice I know not to even think about disobeying her

"It's unheard of, why are they coming out into the open?" Uncle Antony asks continuing as though mine and moms exchange hadn't happened,

"Im more concerned they have set off a bomb in the middle of London," dad says to him with a worried look, grandma Beth also looks worried as she says

"What can we do?"

"Im not sure that we can do anything baby" grandpa Luke mumbles as he keeps watching the devastation on the t.v.

I turn to look at everyone who all still have their eyes glued to the t.v., everyone seems to be taking this way too seriously, its miles away so it doesn't exactly affect us, I smile to myself, what this lot need is a good show, I look to Acre beside me and notice he's already watching me with a twinkle in his eyes

"what you thinking bro?" he mind links me

"I think they are taking this way too seriously"

"my thoughts exactly, what you got in mind?"

"Our hidden firework stash in the barn"

"Yes," Acre says with a big grin, I can feel the excitement radiating off him, his wolf Forest is jumping around with excitement and Abyss my wolf he's just as excited, he's tipping at me.

All of a sudden I feel Acres excitement deflate and Forest is on alert, Acre has frozen staring at the t.v. screen, in confusion I turn to see what he's looking at and there she is on the screen clinging to another girl, I looked closely at her long brown hair and big wide brown eyes, she was radiating fear 

"But she needn't worry" Abyss was tipping, the shock caused my heart rate to speed up and I had started sweating and that one word slipped out at the same time Acre said exactly the same thing

"MATE".
