MATED TO A VAMPIRE

AXEL'S POV........

I sat in the main room of my mansion, and also sat my pack mates. We normally sat here to discuss about the issues affecting my community/country but today......they called this meeting to discuss about me, I was the subject matter.

"Axel...you can't keep doing this to yourself" Hunter my best friend stated.

Julia my little sister got up from her couch and came to sit beside me. She then put her hands around my shoulder "Hunter is right, it's been a month now Axel, we also miss Silvar a lot but the truth is that you have to move on. All the packs in the country are waiting for their Alpha Lord, we are waiting for our Alpha".

Yeah right! I was the Alpha Lord and no one cared about my feelings, all they wanted was for me to come up with a solution for all their problems. My pack was different from all other packs you are familiar with, my pack was the strongest in the whole country/community and that was because they had me as their leader. Now...let me tell you more about my pack mates:

Hunter is an Omega,                                   His mate Alia, is a Mountain Wolf,         Sia is a Nymph,                                           Her twin sister Sue, is a Witch (weird family huh!).                                                My little sister Julia, is a Beta,                   Silvar's little brother Jude, is a Shapeshifter, and lastly.....                         Mark....Sia's mate is the only Hunter in the pack.

As you can see, there were no vampires in my pack and there was a reasonable reason behind it. Vampires and Werewolves have been in a feud for a very long time now even before the death of Silvar and am sure that was the reason why they decided to kill my Silvar. I could not bear to lay my eyes on a vampire without ripping his/her head off, I simply despised  them.

I ignored my friends and continued to stare at the picture of my innocent mate in my hands. I used my fingers to trace her beautiful face and then i sighed and turned to face them.      "What ever you guys say or do won't change anything and it doesn't even matter to me. As you can see, I am still mourning the death of your Luna.... My Silvar and am not planning on climbing the throne until I am done mourning her so.....Hunter can take my place till I am ready".

"Well we will have to change that mentality, won't we?" Someone suddenly said and just then, a cool breeze blew right past us and no one  needed to tell me who just spoke. Selena, my second best friend and to other supernaturals... The moon goddess appeared in front of us. Everyone except Hunter and myself bowed down in respect to her (don't tell me I need to tell you the reason why we did not bow to her?).

She smiled sweetly at them "I hope you guys won't mind excusing me, Hunter and Axel.....only for few minutes".

Alia nodded "Of course not my Queen" and in less than a second, the main room was empty.

Selena sat on one of the couches but just then, her expression changed into one of deep worry.                                   

 "I got the news of Silvar's death, am so.....sorry".

"Took you long enough" Hunter mumbled.

"Am very sorry, I've been so busy lately".

I dropped the picture in my hands and stared into her eyes "You know what....you are responsible for everything that has happened".

She stared at me confused "What......what do you mean?".

"Well what can I say..... Hunter here got a mate who is still alive and well while you gave me a mate who ended up dying two years after she was announced as my mate and six months after I finally learned to accept and love her, just great!"

Selena frowned "You can't blame me, I only found a mate who suited your personality and you can't deny the fact that she was the one who tamed you".

I rolled my eyes "Of course you will give an excuse".

"That's enough Axel, Selena is not to be blamed" Hunter scolded.

I buffed "Yeah right!" But I kept my cool. Apart from Silvar, Hunter was the only other person that had that effect on me.

"Believe me when I say I will do anything to make this right to you Axel".

"Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done....... Silvar is gone for good".

She suddenly grinned "There might be something that can be done and am ready to give it a try".

She exchanged glances with Hunter who suddenly shook his head and his face also turned pale "No....No....No....you can't possible be thinking of doing that".

"Yes I am....I am the moon goddess after all".

"But that is against the rules guiding the supernatural realm".

She frowned "Do you think I care less, I am ready to do anything for the both of you or have you not noticed it by now?".

I waved my hands to the both of them in a-seeking-for-attention manner so they would stop bickering about what I did not understand "Hello.....am still here you know and you guys can tell me what you are arguing about since....am obviously the subject matter".

"Selena is thinking about getting you a new mate" Hunter suddenly blurted out.

I wore a confused look because I was actually confused "A new mate?..... Is that even possible?".

Selena nodded "Yeah...I just need to convince the higher authorities and find the girl fit for you, a girl who fits your type of personality".

Hunter shook his head in clear disagreement "Tell her that she's nuts Axel, it has never happened in the history of supernaturals and you know that....it's a taboo and she is fully aware of that, the higher authorities would never agree to it. She's just gonna go ahead and do it herself and she's gonna only end up in a big mess".

Selena snapped her fingers at him in an annoyed manner, still frowning "Stop talking Hunter, you are just trying to discourage Axel from agreeing to it......besides, your opinion doesn't really count....so let Axel speak".

I studied her for a while before I shook my head "Am not interested".

She gritted her teeth "There is no difference between the both of you....fools" she stood up from her couch and composed herself "Well....unfortunately for you, you don't also have a say on this issue so Cha.....Cha....., see you later when you have seen your new mate and you are ready to appreciate me for doing you a favour" and she disappeared.

I stared at Hunter and at the same time he also stared at me. I really hoped Selena was not going to do something stupid.

SYDNEY'S POV...........

    My name is Sydney Corps and am a vampire. I am also the daughter of the vampire king (yea I know what you are thinking, am a lucky girl.....I truly am). You see, I don't many friends....infact, I only relate with people of the same social status as myself (you can say that am proud and spoiled but it doesn't really freak me). My boyfriend Beck was just like me, His father was my father's right hand man and to be sincere, I genuinely loved Beck. So you see, nothing could ever go wrong in my life, I have everything I could ever wish for..

    Enough of the description and praising of myself, we can do that later. Today......was our vampire day. This day was very special to every living vampire as we only celebrated this wonderful celebration once in five years. I was getting ready when I suddenly felt a hand wrap around my waist, no one was bold enough to do something like that, no one except Beck.

Totally ignoring him, putting on my earrings and facing the mirror, I frowned "And who let you in?".

"Your Dad let me in the palace and don't forget that I have the spare key to your room".

"So what.....you should have knocked before entering my room".

"Come on babe.....I thought we were past this".

Successfully putting on my earrings, I faced him with my arms folded in front of my chest in an annoyed manner "No....No....No....we are not past any issue Beck, what if I was naked, then what will you have done?".

He unlaced my arms and kissed me "But you weren't.......by the way, you look beautiful" he suddenly said purposely changing the topic.

I nodded "I know....what did you expect.....I am the vampire princess after all".

He rolled his eyes "I thought we have discussed this a million times darling, you need to drop that pride.....it won't lead you anywhere".

I frowned "Are you just gonna stand there scolding me or are we gonna go downstairs DAD!!!!!!".

He chuckled, laced his arms in mine and we headed downstairs. When we got to the occasion ground, Beck left my hands and I went to sit beside my Dad, the King.

Father faced me and kissed me on my cheeks "You look beautiful dear".

"Thanks Dad....you don't look bad yourself".

He stood up and gave his long boring speech on the importance of unity and non discrimination...bla......bla....bla....before he blessed the occasion and sat down "How did I do dear?".

"You did great". I managed a smile even though I did not listen to one single thing he said. You can't blame me, I did not want to break his spirit and so....the party began.

A point to note: Vampire parties are not like the type of parties that you are used to and to prove my point, if you ever get a chance to go to a party, plead to your parents to take you to a vampire party because they were simply the best (I won't tell you the reason, you need to come and experience it yourself and believe me when I say you won't be disappointed). As everyone was getting on with the groove, we suddenly heard loud howls and the howls kept coming closer. Hearing howls could mean only one thing, the creatures of the night had arrived......THE WEREWOLVES....... And that is all it took for the country to be completely destroyed.

Werewolves and Vampires never really got along. Father said they were once best of buddies and their bond was almost unbreakable but then one day something terrible happened that completely shattered the bond they once had and made them turn against each other. A year ago when father killed the Alpha Lord's Luna, the feud became worse and bloodly and now vampires made it their top piority to kill any werewolf they came across. Well I wouldn't lie to you, I never hated the creatures of the night, infact....I find them very cute (please never mention this to anyone).

As I began running for my dear life like the others, I suddenly sighted my Dad been grabbed on the neck by a werewolf and so I changed my decision to run but instead decided to help my Dad. But as I turned to help him, Beck suddenly blocked my path.

"And where exactly do you think you are going to?" He asked still blocking my path.

"Am going to save my Dad, his been wolfhanded".

Beck glanced at the scene but when he turned back to face me, his expression had suddenly changed into one I couldn't read "I know Sydney......but I promised the king that I was gonna protect you".

I shook my head and withheld the urge to slap him across the face "I don't care about your promise to my father Beck, but you don't expect me to just run away while knowing my father is in danger".

"Your father is the king Sydney, he is not new to all these things, he is very capable of protecting himself and getting himself out of troubles like this, but you are not......and that is why I need to get you to safety.....your safety matters first".

I slapped his hands away when he tried to hold my hands "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND BECK, MY DAD IS MY WHOLE LIFE AND AM NOT LEAVING THIS PLACE WITHOUT HIM".

"I clearly understand but...... He suddenly gasped and his eyes widened as a claw went right through his stomach "RUN!!!!" Was the last thing he said to me before he fell face to the ground.

I was about to run away when I suddenly felt something sharp sting me on my neck and just then everything around me became blur and it felt like the time had suddenly come to a halt.
