“This is a sensitive topic and it’s all speculation so far but we’ve heard that the current leader of the Bratva had a sister. When they were young, someone from the Cosa Nostra took his sister. They were never able to find out who took her and why but they were so adamant that it was someone from the Cosa Nostra. Ever since then, the Bratva has been meddling in the affairs of the Cosa Nostra and is inflicting chaos within our society.” Dino explained. I’ve never heard of that story before but if that were the case then doesn’t that mean that we’re the ones at fault? “Is that what the men in the mob are told?” Marina asked. Dino shook his head and explained further. “When you become a Made Man in the Cosa Nostra, you are told that the Bratva is the enemy. There’s no reason given as to why they are the enemy but that is what we are told.” He explained. That’s a bit odd considering the rumors are saying that we were the ones who started the feud with the Bratva

"You…" He said while he lifted his finger and pointed at me. The moment I heard his voice, I suddenly felt the adrenaline rush. I quickly ran out of that little alley and I tried to make my way back to the metro as fast as I could. I heard him shouting orders, he probably wanted to take me back since I saw too much. I didn't hesitate to run as fast as I could. I got to the metro and I just barely made it to the train as it was closing and was about to depart. I didn't see which route I was taking because I was too busy trying to escape. As the door shut in front of me, I saw a few of the Bratva men searching the area. It was a good thing I managed to make it. The train was going through stop after stop and I wasn't aware of the locations. I didn't get off until we were at the last stop. When I stepped out, I realized I was lost. Feeling helpless and a bit guilty for blowing my own cover, I called Marina. She picked up almost immediately. 

A few days after my encounter with the Bratva, I decided to finally follow Primo's orders and stay at home with Marina and Dino. Marina and I kept talking about the Bratva's leader. His face looked so familiar to me and I know that I've seen him before. I'm not sure if I've seen him here in New York or back in California. I don't know why I suddenly thought that I could find him through skimming through our photo albums but that's what I did. I decided to give Salva a call, not just to ask for a favor but to ask how he is as well. I know he's been through a lot and we weren't there for him. He's still so young. "Hey sis." Salva picked up almost immediately and it shocked me for a bit. “Hey Salva, how are you?” I asked. He sounded a bit happy and that kinda lightened my mood. I was still feeling very guilty about defying Primo’s orders and going out. Hearing Salva sound so happy, I didn’t want him to worry about me

“I found it!” I shouted. Marina jumped and quickly made her way to me. “Is that it? Is that the article we were looking for?” She asked. I nodded and showed her the article. It showed the same article name with the same picture as the one we saw online. We knew we had the right one. I was so excited to start reading it. I wanted to know what the author thought about when he wrote this article. Marina put her face beside mine and we read the article together. At the beginning, it only detailed the gruesome deaths that happened as a result of the war, but it had no information regarding how the war started. As I was reading the last paragraph, the author briefly mentioned something about the war. “Listen to this Marina: Rumors have begun to circulate that the daughter of the Bratva went missing when they visited New York.

“You just have to stop thinking negatively, sis. Sure it’s likely to happen but there’s also a possibility that it won’t happen. Just look on the bright side.” Marina said. I nodded and told her that she was right. I was thinking too negatively about it. I put my attention back to opening the package that Salva sent to us. I told him I needed the photo albums we had at home. I opened them up and Marina and I slowly skimmed through the pages, looking at our pictures from when we were young. “Look Luna, Salva used to be this small before. He was even smaller than the two of us but now he’s taller than us. Oh how time flies. I miss these days.” Marina pointed out. I smiled while looking at the photo she was talking about.
