Chapter 90

"But maa! Meera has her own place now. Also, she has to work for long hours which means Sonia has to stay alone in the house. All alone. How unsafe is that for a little girl?" Lai asks and Aunty blinks. I guess she is able to get the point across Aunty's head. I also agree with it. I have to meet Dhruv, which will make Sonia stay alone in the house. Talking about my place to live, yes I took the house and now I am going to live in it. Surprised?  I was surprised too when I made this decision. The house is very expensive and something I know I would never be able to earn on my own even if I sell my organs. That's how costly the villa is. I had searched it up in Google and all the data had my head spiralling. I wanted to hit Dhruv with a bat for buying me such an expensive thing. If he really wanted to give me a house, a small, average-prized house would have been okay. Damn, I would have even lived inside a hut. But no, he had to buy such an ex

Chapter 91

"Woah! This is…" Laila's jaw hangs in the air as we enter inside the villa. "This is crazy! I mean, just looking at the house from outside takes my breath away."  Sonia runs inside and her head moves around frantically, taking in the surroundings. "Sonia, be careful. Don't fall." I tell her and she nods her head obediently.  "Oh my god! There is light in the staircase." Lai adds and runs towards it to witness the miracle with her own eyes.  "Ahem. I believe someone told me that it is not possible." I tell her while putting my luggage down.  "But...how is this possible?" She looks back at me with wide eyes.  "We live in the twenty-first century. Technology is far advanced. Only because you and I haven't seen these kinds of things doesn't mean they don't exist."  "Yeah, right. Does that mean Dinosaurs also exis

Chapter 92

The doorbell rings and I close the fridge door to go fetch it. I reach to the living room to find Sonia opening the door with her hands. She was adamant that she had to do this job. But I wonder who it is since she looks up and kind of freezed in her place. I walk over to her and look outside to find Dhruv standing with a teddy bear in his hand. I don't know whether to feel shocked or laugh at the scene. He told me yesterday that he wants to give a visit. I told him to feel free to come today since Lai has gone to that crazy nursery school for her job, and it's only me and Sonia. I had intercepted that they would meet each other, but I had no clue they would meet in this way.  Sonia runs behind me and peeks, holding my dress tightly. I pat her head. "It's okay baby. He is–eh–a good guy." I don't understand how I should address him in front of her. As a friend? Is he a friend? I don't think so. Is he a boyfriend? The thought makes m

Chapter 93

My face remains stoic as I let Laila even though I wanted her to live outside for the day. Like, what the fuck is happening? Why is everyone literally hell-bent to join the party today? And most of all, why the hell is Laila doing her moonwalk again? As said, she throws her bag on the floor and does the moonwalk all the way to the living room and then sings Taki Taki in wrong lyrics. I join her before she freezes in her spot as she witnesses two people sitting in the living room looking at her with wide eyes.  She regains her composure and clears her throat. "Eh...Hi."  "Hello Miss Sharma." Dhruv says, his beautiful but wide eyes telling me that he is still not over the shock of what he saw a few seconds ago.  Lai gives a nervous chuckle. "I didn't know that you came today."  "I just came a few minutes ago."  "Oh, oh. Nice, nice. Make yourse

Chapter 94

We talk for a while and I honestly get somewhat sad with his divided attention. When he and I are present, he gives all the attention to me. And now there is Sonia and Lai, who is literally not stopping with her waterfall of questions. But his concise answers give her the idea that he is not a person to talk that much. I don't mind my little Sonia spending her time with him. She looks very happy and I am happy about that. But sometimes I feel like I cannot talk or crack jokes with him in private. Or just have him stare at me like he usually does. Why am I thinking all of this? Why do I even want his attention in the first place? Ain't I being just too selfish?  Dhruv doesn't spend much time with us since he has work to do. Why? He moves up from his seat and even though Sonia tells him to stay a little longer, he refuses politely, patting her head. Maybe the reason I am jealous is because Sonia has the freedom to be touched by him and I don't.

Chapter 95

I gasp at her words. "What! But why?"  "It is because even if you show your love, not telling it means not considering it at all. This will give the next person the impression that you care for them but not anything more than that."  "Wait a minute, love? I don't—" I hesitate. I don't love him, right? Love is a deep word to even start with.  "Leave it. Let's get some food. I bought some vegetables from the market. Can you make something out of them?"  "Hmm. Bring the packet here." She brings the packet before I start putting the vegetables on the kitchen island and see what I can make out of them. Yet my head revolves around what Lai said a few minutes ago. Will I lose him if I don't tell him my feelings?  ***********The next day, Eleanor calls me to her office very early and I give Lai the responsibility to take care of Sonia.

Chapter 96

Dhruv's POV "Boris, make sure my suit is ready for today. I will be home by four in the evening." I tell him and he bows his head. I have told Sia to get my schedule ready today. I had plans to take Meera out,but thanks to my family, it is all ruined now. Yet, I am glad that I still get to spend my time with her. I had told Eleanor about the change in plans and she agreed to do all the arrangements. Though I don't have a clue on what arrangements she was talking about because Meera needs none. A beauty like her can bewitch people with anything. I loved her choice of wearing a saree when I took her to meet my family. One of the things I love about her. She knows what she needs to do. I don't understand why she keeps telling me that she is not good enough to earn a luxury like the one I have gifted her. A woman like her can make anything stand worth millions. She has the brains for it. I need to show her how smart she is. And how brave.

Chapter 97

Dhruv's POV  I stare at the lady, who Ajay claims to be Meera's mother. It is hard to believe that the claims are true because she has nothing identical with Meera. And there is a certain malicious look in her face that only experienced eyes can catch. Which I certainly have. "Oh, I see. Hello Mrs. Adarsh."  She nods her head with a smile. "Hello, Mr. Saxena. It is very nice to finally meet you."  "Same here. I am fortunate that I could meet you. Meera does not speak much about her family. So I believed you did not live with her."  "Ah, yes, yes. I actually come from Kolkata. I recently came here. Meera did not say anything?"  "No."  "Oh…" she looks down. "Why would she, of course." She mumbles, but just in the way it is audible to both Ajay and my ears. Does not fit right with me.  "S

Chapter 98

Meera's POV  I put on the pearl white dress Eleanor brought for me without any hesitation and sit for the two hours long torture. Why can't makeup be relaxing like a spa? After the torture is over, I look at the mirror to find my enhanced face with all the makeup and shit. "Eleanor?"  "Hmm?" She responds behind me, looking through something on her phone.  "Dhruv came to my house yesterday but I did not see Blondie—I mean the guy who is incharge of watching over us."  "Yes, I know. I wanted to discuss about it with you and Mr. Saxena today but since there is a change of plan, I have to shift the meeting to some other day."  "Okay. Also, are you sure that Dhruv told you to dress me up in a certain type of clothing?"  "Yes. He called me again after ending the call to give me specific instructions on how you shoul

Chapter 99

"Um...I—" I don't get any words to say. I believe Dhruv will say something about it, but he stares at me too. Waiting for my answer. Marriage? Why is this topic even coming up?  "Would you?" Dhruv asks and I look at him. Is this some kind of proposal? What should I do? It reminds me of Eleanor's story. The way her rich husband left her. Wait! What the fuck! Marriage shouldn't be a topic here at all! I am too young, well according to me I am. This is not the time to get married. Also, I am not going to marry Dhruv! Especially after hearing what Eleanor said. We have just got to know each other.  "I don't know." I look down at my nails, and there is silence for a moment.  "Means, you are not sure that my brother is the one for you?" Harsh asks in a serious tone. Where the fuck is this coming from?  "Brothers, I think this is too much. Why ask such a question righ
