21. Wrong place, right time
Mia: “You okay?” Sam asked, placing his free hand on my leg and squeezing softly , in an attempt to try to take away the nerves threatening to choke me but instead, they revved up. He stared into my my eyes for a while before returning his attention to the road, driving with one hand on the steering wheel while the other one remained on my leg. We were on our way to the therapist’s office and I just couldn’t stop my heart from beating widely against my chests. I’d had nightmares last night but this time, not of the wolves threatening to devour me, but of the man I’d seen at the diner, whose face I couldn’t place. But for some reason, the sight hunted me in my dreams, without a face.  This had further convinced me to see a therapist, yet, I was skeptical of the outcome.

22. Alive
Giovanni: My eyes remained on her face, watching her like a hawk while she slept, looking so peaceful. It had been a shock to see her at my doorstep after so many months of not having her in my life. At a point, I’d considered she was dead and I blamed myself every day for being responsible for that, telling myself if I hadn’t bitten her when I’d panicked, she might have still been alive. But now, she was here in my bed and I felt as though my heart just started working after five months. I tucked a stray hair behind her ear and leaned down to kiss her forehead before rising from my seat beside her, on the bed. Stripping off the sweats pants I’d quickly pulled on when she’d announced her arrival, I walked into the bathroom, a happy smile stretching me lips_something I hadn’t known in a while.

23. Hiding
Mia:   “Thank you for the ride,” I muttered to him, desperately avoiding his gaze as I attempted to dash out of the car but he quickly grabbed my arm, pulling me back to my seat, his hand resting heavily on my leg. My eyes flew to his, and I gulped. They portrayed a determination that I knew wouldn’t be deterred. He wanted me back and while that should be a good thing, I couldn’t let it happen. Not after everything I’d done. Ending our relationship at this point was the best way out, although my traitorous heart and betraying body were screaming a different thing.   “When do you close from work?” he asked, his fingers lightly caressing my leg and for a moment, I was grateful for the leggings I was wearing.   “By 12 noon,” I lied, licking my lips and meeting his eyes, hoping he wouldn't detect it.

24. Date
Mia: “I-I...” I licked my lips, my gaze drifting from him to the floor.  He remained silent, still demanding an explanation and I knew I had to tell him the truth, or at least, part of the truth.  “H-he’s an ex-boyfriend. I used to know him when I lived in Blackwood. I didn’t know he was the guy you’ve always been complaining about, your boss. So umm...” I licked my lips again, meeting his eyes. “And I never expected to see him again. The shock made me faint and he kept me in his place all night. I'd woken up very late,” I stared at him, hoping he’d believe me. “Sam, I’m sorry...” Sam released a deep breath, threading his hands through his hair.

25. Touble
Mia: We strode towards the front door but just before Giovanni could sidestep Layla, she blocked his path, throwing her body against his and I tried at that moment to pull my hand from his hold but it only tightened while his dark eyes landed on Layla’s smiling form, his brows knitting together. With his free hand, he grabbed Layla and pulled her from him, keeping her at arm's length. “You have five minutes to leave or get thrown out by the security. Make a choice,” his cold voice spoke, not sparing the woman one glance as he pulled me with him into his home as though he couldn’t stand being in the same environment with the woman, talk more while having a conversation with her. “Baby...” Layla tried, her voice sounding broken and my heart pricked at the heartbr

26. Married
Mia: I woke up to a warm body pressed against me, with an arm wound tightly around my waist, his soft breath fanning my neck. Without having to turn around, I knew where I was_Giovanni's home. The light streaming into the room told me it was morning already and I knew I had to report for work. Stretching as much as I could with Giovanni’s tight hold, I tried my best to slide away but his hold only tightened, causing my lips to stretch in a smile. “Babe...” I murmured, turning to stare at his face. Although his eyes were still closed, I saw the way his Adam's apple worked in his throat when I pressed my chest to him so I knew he was very much awake. “I need to go to work,” I told him, watching his face while grinning.

27. New home
Mia: I heard the sound of the door opening before Giovanni came into view, a baffled look on his face. “Babe...” he called but I ignored him and continued with my task, bile rising in my throat from their attitude but then there was a part of me that couldn’t fault them for their actions. I was the one to be blamed because I was the one that had unresolved issues that I was doing nothing to solve. Probably, I needed a fresh beginning with new people in my life, not the ones I’ve hurt with my selfish actions. “What did he do to you, Gattino?” he growled out, reaching for me but I slapped his hand away, while I tried to zip up my suitcase. “Mia...” he growled out, this time, pulling me into his arms. “If you don’t tell me what’s goin

28. Strange mail
Mia: I woke up to tingles spreading over me, his warm wet tongue continuously drawing tight little circles on my clit. “Mmm...” I moaned my sleepy haze clearing, as the pleasure spread through me, setting my nerve endings on fire. “Good morning, baby,” he murmured against my inner thighs, before returning to feast on me, jiggling his tongue on my clit, without mercy, while his thick finger found its way into my entrance, pumping into me and hitting that sweet spot within me that had my eyes rolling to my head, my hips arching off the bed. But his hold on my thighs pressed me back to the bed, while he continued his craft, working me hard enough to bring me to an orgasm. I was still recovering from my intense orgasm

29. Not dead
Giovanni: “Good morning, Sir,” Alice, my secretary, greeted me cheerfully, as I walked past her, towards my office. “Morning, Alice, and don’t worry about my morning coffee,” I informed her before stepping into my office, closing the door behind me. I’d dropped Mia off at her work place and stayed to take a cup of coffee before leaving. For the duration of the time I stayed, I had her seat with me, paying her boss for it. I didn’t like the fact that she was working, but the woman was a stubborn one and wouldn’t listen to me. If it was up to me, I’d take her everywhere I went. I had no problem flaunting what was mine. Releasing a breath, I settled into my seat, forcing my thoughts from

30. Dinner with Nina
Mia: I stood by the kitchen counter, dicing the vegetables I needed to prepare dinner when I heard the sound of the front door opening and closing. Without having to check, I knew it was Giovanni. A smile spread to my lips when he walked into the kitchen, heading towards me and wrapping his arms around my waist. He nuzzled his soft lips against my neck, slightly sucking on my soft spot. “How was your day, gattino?” he murmured into my ear, his hands lightly stroking my hips, barely covered by his t-shirt that I had on. “It was okay,” I answered amidst smiles, baring my neck for him to go on with his ministrations, while I continued dicing the vegetables, trying my best to pay attention, to avoid cutting my fingers in the process.
