Akira opened his eyes and found himself on the sofa, back in the system office. He slowed down his breathing as he calmed down. The pain he was just feeling moments ago was nothing but a dull, throbbing sensation.     He sat up slowly and tried to make sense of what happened recently. He remembered being stabbed through his chest by one assassin and then nothing but blood-curdling pain and then, the next thing he knew, was that he was back here.   He looked down at the shirt he was wearing and lifted his hands to unbutton it only to see it was a useless effort seeing as his fingers were shaking badly; he clenched his hands to stop them from shaking but it was no use. His hands continued to shake and tremble.   He closed his eyes and leaned back on the couch to wait out the pain that was still running through his body, unknowingly falling into a fitful sleep.   *****  

Author's comments: (...) Noah couldn't help but freeze, the boy that half an hour ago was said to be dying was hovering over him and had a look of hunger on his face, the way he was looking at him made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Noah suddenly felt that he was in danger and moved his hands to Alexander's shoulders and attempted to push him, but nothing happened, all of sudden Alexander moved and pushed his face into his neck which made him freeze in shock. He felt a sharp pain on the side of his neck and he felt something wet sliding to the back of his neck and he didn't even have to think hard about what it was because he could smell it, it was blood, his blood and Alexander was sucking it out of him. It was painful since Alexander's lips were pulling at the edges of his bite wound, he tried pushing him off but no matter how hard he tried, the body above his wouldn't budge, he felt his limbs weakening and his hands fell to his sides as they lost all their strength.

Previously... Akira was waiting for Daisuke to finish his work when he heard movement outside the door of his room. The door was open and the footsteps of whatever was out there were very heavy. He waited and listened as the sound grew louder and closer. After recovering from his shock, Alexander once again registered the smell of a decaying body. He pushed himself up from the ground with help of the wall, but as he suddenly stood up, he felt light-headed and disoriented with his surroundings for a moment. Alexander shook his head to stabilize himself and made a note to practice controlling his new powers until they're like second nature.   He headed back the way he came until he reached the main hall again and entered the kitchen, planning to make some food to leave for his Noah in case he woke up from his fever while he was out.
