CHAPTER TWENTY
~DAVID~ He was the one behind all this. Of course he was. I just never expected it to be him. We barely met, even when we did, just a formal conversation. So what exactly did he hold against me? "Segun what do you want?" A sigh left my mouth. I wasn't too shocked at his presence. He was a pathetic human being. Everyone knew that. All I didn't understand was why he brought Elizabeth into it.  "Well, you don't seem surprised, especially for someone who has been kidnapped." He smirked and I rolled my eyes.  "You hate me. I get it, a lot of people do. Why bring her into it? She has nothing to do with you." I spitted out.  "She's just beautiful." He replied, sending a disturbing smile to Elizabeth.

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
~SEGUN~ "What Sandra?" I said to her. I really wasn't in the mood for her type of talks.  "It wasn't part of the deal." She said.  "What wasn't part of the deal?" I dipped my hands into my pocket.  "Killing him or molesting her." She replied and I rolled my eyes.  "When you put it that way," I started, taking my time to do a small laugh. "It's changes nothing. You shouldn't be dumb enough not to know that if we let any of them go alive they'll rat us out." I told her.  "But..." "But what Sandra?!" I shouted.  "But David can't die." Tea

CHAPTER TWENTY TWO
~DAVID~ "Are you sure you're okay?" I asked her again.  "You've asked me that like a million times. I swear I'm fine. I should be asking you." She smiled softly.  "Just a bruised cheek. I'll be alright." I told her.  "I'll need you two to report a..." An officer began to speak but Kelvin interrupted him.  "No, if you need anything meet me. Don't spoil their love time." He pulled the officer away from us.  "Love time." I said more to myself than anyone else. She made it clear she didn't want anything to do with me in that aspect. So I promised not to push it.

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE
~ELIZABETH~ "You cannot just walk off like that. Not after dropping that kind of a bombshell." David pulled me back to face him.  "I just told you. I need to know who my father is." I shrugged and he rolled his eyes.  "I heard you the first time Elizabeth. What I don't understand is who that man that the police just drove out of here is." He pointed at the direction the police are drove off in.  "Trust me. I have no idea. He told me he wasn't my father. And didn't say any further. Now I need to vent my anger on my mother. If she truly is." I glared hard at an open space.  "Okay...calm down. You probably have a concussion because of all these drama. You need to relax." He held unto my shoulde

CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
~Elizabeth~ I groaned out when the alarm I had set went off. Another day, another working day. It was good, yet annoying. One way or another, David was able to talk me into coming back to work, more like forced me. Sluggishly, I got up from bed and headed to my bathroom. The cold water from my shower hit my skin and I shivered in both delight and fear of catching a cold. Closing my eyes, I let my body adjust to the feeling.  Everything was going back to the way it was, my job as the personal assistant to Mr. Badmus, having to wake up very early in the morning and drive to B Corp, expecting a work load from around nine till either five, six or seven in the night. The only change now is, I don't have psychotic nightmares, neither do I have a psychotic father, my mother is well and finally, I'm dating my boss. Cliche much.

CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE
~Elizabeth~ I didn't utter another word, I couldn't think of anything to say. The only thing that my brain could register was David, so briskly, I left my office and Chidima to go to David's.  Walking towards his office, I could see the eyes of others on me, they all knew what was up and some took pleasure at other people's discomfort, especially those that were not happy about David and I being together. So I decided against sending glares at any of them.  I didn't even bother to knock, I just pushed the door open. When the door was wide open, my eyes met with David's. And with the look of things, he also just heard of the news.  It was all out. Tears clouded my eyes and I didn't stop myself from letting it out. My knees grew weak and I staggered backwards,

CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
~Elizabeth ~ It was already time to leave work, I did not want to leave my office though. I did not want to have to face the people who would laugh or mock or feel pity for me. I just wanted to blend in back. Yes, David did say to ignore them, but it was almost impossible to. Especially when they were standing close to you.  I watched the door knob of my office twist, but I was too absent minded to react to it. Then David poked his head through it. "You ready?" "What?" I raised a brow at him. He stared at me for a while, then decided to bring his entire body into view by entering my office and shutting the door.  "Are you ready to go?" He asked and I nodded in understanding.

CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
~Elizabeth ~"Mum." I breathed out with slightly dropped jaw. She was standing there, right in front of me, with a bright smile on her face.I choked on my own breath, the fear I once felt got mixed up with weird feelings, that seemed like joy but more. Tears stung my eyes at the view. She looked happy, she was standing straight and didn't look like she was even sick."My baby." She said after I didn't say anything anymore. Her arms spreaded out for a hug and without double thinking, I fell into them. Crying out more.It felt real, it was not another dream and even if it were, I did not want to wake up. "Mum." I said again, my voice cracking as I hugged tighter."I can't breath well." I heard her say as she patted my back. Reluctantly, I let her go, only to have to stare at her face again. She didn't change, it had been three months since I last saw her."I should be upset." She began, trying to pout but her smile failing the expression. "You didn't call me." She added and my eyes wide

CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT
~DAVID~Was it something I said? Or didn't say?I watched her walk away from us slowly. My head began to think of anything I might have said that made her upset. But I didn't say or do anything. The argument we had earlier was a peaceful one, it was something to laugh and be happy about. She told me she loved me, it was the best thing I heard so far."I'll go talk to her." I volunteered as I also left the dinning table too. I walked briskly to the door, my head still trying to think of what to tell or ask her. She was upset, I knew that, what I didn't know was at who and why?Shaking off my thoughts, I twisted the door knob and opened it. She was standing on the porch, staring blankly at nothing, almost like she was deep in her thoughts."Elizabeth." I called out and she jerked up in fear making me frown."Oh." She said when she figured it was just me."Is something wrong?" I asked, taking steps towards her till we were standing opposite each other."No, it's just..." she trailed off

CHAPTER TWENTY NINE
~Elizabeth~I shuffled around my bed for the umpteenth time, trying to reach for the alarm clock again to press the snooze button. Just when I thought I had reached it, I fell hard to the ground and my body made a thud sound. "Ouch." I pouted lowly as pain jolted in. I stared up at the table clock and then fell backwards to the ground when I realized how late I was. Although I immediately regretted my decision to fall back as the back of my head began to hurt badly. With a loud sigh, I reluctantly got up from the ground and walked towards my bathroom. I shivered as goosebumps covered my skin when the cold water hit me. Letting out a shaky breath, I allowed myself adjust to the water. The ache did not stop banging at the back of my head and even water did not seem to cool it off. The thought of having to go back to work and sit in the almost enclosed room just made my body weak. That was not as worse as having people stare at me all because of the video that already went viral. David
