“Let us not get any crazy ideas.” Miles sighed. His mood was spoilt. He was not as lively as he once was because of the incident. Carrying Kale was not giving him the space to get closer and have a quiet conversation with Angela but that could wait even though he didn’t want to wait to talk to her, hold her hand and hear her angelic giggles. He still didn’t understand what he was feeling. Was it true love or infatuation? It couldn’t be infatuation. He wanted to be with Angela for the rest of his life, till the end. “We will get there in the next few hours but it is getting late.” He looked at the dampening sky. “We should find somewhere to camp before moving on.”“And some food,” Kale said getting down from Miles’ shoulders. She was right, the four were hungry. They had been moving on empty stomachs since the day began. Angela had never felt such pangs of hunger in her life. When she thought about

“One of the sprites gave us. It will help us identify the good food from the bad,” Miles answered as he helped Kale up the floor. “We do not need that. We know the good from bad,” Justin said also getting up.“Just for precaution,” Angela added taking the key from Miles. They continued their search for something to eat. The search was tiring and exhausting. It was as if all the trees with edible fruits in the forest were hiding from them. Justin was carrying tired Kale while Miles was supporting Angela so she wouldn’t faint. She was pale and feeble. Hunger wasn’t a good thing at all. Angela had never felt so hungry in her life. It was like thin needles were pinching her stomach in different places. Miles was used to being hungry. Sometimes the bandits starved for days looking around for small pieces of bread and drinking unfiltered water from the local river. They

Angela’s high pitched voice hit everyone’s ear like a bomb. They came out of their boring searching and rushed to her side. Miles was happy she found it and gave her a quick peck. Her cheeks flushed with red. She was nervous and surprised. That was the last thing she expected from him. Maybe she needed to start finding more things. Justin took the book, heading for the table. He placed it on it, flipping the book open to the first page. The cover of the book was a beautiful looking woman, holding a wand the color of cinnamon with a golden persimmon placed at the top of it. Her cheeks were yellow. Her hair was long and golden. She wasn’t ugly looking like some of the other pictures of witches she had seen that day. She looked nice but Angela couldn’t be totally sure about that. All the witches she met in her storybooks were the mean and wicked kind that always wanted to kill the princesses but the witch they were rea

“Have you found her?” the Queen said raising her head high, proud, and pompous. She had long curly brown hair that reached her waistline; her eyes were brown and sparkled like stars in the sky. She wore a red-blood dress that had rubies placed at different intervals of it. Her red lips burned with fire and her tongue only brought out words of evil. Her face would have been the most beautiful in the world. She would have been the most beautiful person in the world, if it wasn’t all just fake. Her pride was something you could never imagine. She was ruthless, wrathful, a macabre. The long expensive dress she wore, brought out her eye-blinding shape. Any man would have fallen for this woman immediately but it was all fake, a lie. The real Octavia was not spectacularly beautiful. Plain and simple but now-a-thens, people with money pasted fake materials all over their bodies to make them look prettier and presentable.&

She stood up from her golden throne, adjusting her sun-flower-colored dress. It was heavy to carry and took great effort but it was a small price to pay to look presentable and queenly. Yellow wasn’t what she should be wearing. She was meant to be wearing red because she was dangerous. She walked down the stairs of her throne podium. The two guards that had been standing like statues on the left and right side of the throne freed themselves from their statue position and followed the Queen. She used her yellow fan to give herself a little air. She checked if the crown was still on her head because she wasn’t feeling its weight. She was getting used to having a crown on her head. Five years of ruling and she was just getting used to having a crown on her head. She walked out of the throne room going straight to the ballroom. The walls of the castle were made of well-polished platinum. The window railings wer
