Chapter 21
# Brandon's memory   “To serve as a Gamma and an Enforcer is a big honor,” Elliot told him after his training for the day had concluded.   Brandon was no older than seventeen and was undergoing his four-year training in the Council with the future Alpha, Cohen, and the future Beta, Liam.   “Sure, Gamma is lower than an Alpha and Beta, but a Gamma is the voice of the pack,” His superior went on as they walked side by side. “A Gamma is the closest ranking officer to those below him. Of course, the system changed nowadays. Anyone could talk to the Alpha and the Beta directly. But, Gamma is still the representative of the pack members. He must have a tight relationship with everyone because not everyone is brave enough to talk to Alpha

Chapter 22
# Celeste's memory   "Freak!" The large kid yelled at her face. "You're a freak!"   Other kids followed. She pressed her palms against her ears with the hope of obstructing their insult from entering her brain. Every day was the same. They called her a freak. They called her many bad names. She couldn't fight them off. The Master would get mad if she fought them. All she could do was sit in the corner, pressing her palms on her ears, and just hoped they would leave her alone.   She didn't ask to be born this way. She didn't ask to have blue hair. She hated it. She hated it so much that she couldn't face her own reflection in the mirror. She cut her hair off because she hated having it.

Chapter 23
"The black book you gave to us is really helpful," Vincent said, popping up a bottle of beer and handing it to Brandon. "It had been two days since you holed up here." For two days, Brandon had been racking his brain inside out. He knew Celeste was a shapeshifter who could take the form of a bird, but he didn't expect that she had other abilities. Brandon still had the sample he collected from the nightclub. "Is that a real diamond?" Brandon pointed to the glass vial containing a broken piece of the diamond dome that Celeste created to shield him and the waitress from the explosion. Not only did she shield them, but she also contained the blast radius. There were no casualties, but the damages were severe. The nightclub was in pieces. "Yes, a hundred percent," Vincent replied, patting the brown file next to the glass vial. "I'd guess that's how she got her surname. Celeste Diamond."

Chapter 24
Celeste sat on the chair next to the dining table while Brandon went into the kitchen to fetch a drink for her. Although he had a vague idea of what she wanted to say, Brandon could see that she was still contemplating her own decision. "If you're not feeling comfortable talking about it, you don't have to force yourself," Brandon said, putting a glass of orange juice in front of her. "It seemed you're still hurt." "I have something to show you," Celeste replied, reaching for the bandage on her right arm. She undid the bandage, revealing an arm covered in diamonds. She still couldn't control her power after overusing it, causing it to revert to diamonds every now and then. She undid the other bandage on her left arm and neck, showing the instability of her power.

Chapter 25
He said it. There was no taking back. The words left his mouth. All that was left was his pride on the verge of shattering. Brandon looked at Celeste, frowning when he realized she was biting her lips. It took everything in him from kissing her again, just to punish her for biting her lips. But then, her strong scent of roses almost broke Brandon's control. He retreated away from her, closing his nose. He couldn't breathe Celeste's scent more than he had to. Right now, her scent had filled the living room, and Brandon could feel his wolf was clawing its way out. Having an Alpha wolf made it even more, harder to control. "D-Dante..." Celeste stuttered, looking surprised at his sudden action. Brandon covered his mouth with his hands as he felt his canines elongate. His wolf was far too close to the surface. "Sorry. I didn't mean to confess and retreat away from you like you were so

Chapter 26
"Where to?" The driver asked after Celeste hopped into the back passenger's seat. She leaned against her seat as she answered, "Back to the apartment." There was nothing she could do about Dante for now. He bolted out of the house after confessing that he liked her. Although Celeste felt hurt by his sudden action, somehow, she still wanted to give him a chance to explain himself. There had to be a reason why Dante did it. The worst part of all, Celeste's power synced with Dante's presence as if he was the answer to stabilize her power. It had never happened before, but certainly, she could feel it. She could feel Dante's presence resonated with hers. It was still too early to conclude it. But then something else hit her like a truck. Celeste forgot that Dante was a werewolf and that his previous action was because of her. Her heart thumped against her chest as she realized another thing.

Chapter 27
Vincent returned to the safe house and noticed there was nobody in it. The I.V drip was still hanging on the rack, but the needle was coated in blood as if someone forcibly pulled it out. Although the situation pointed that something had happened, Vincent chose not to think negatively. Even though Brandon was still in his rut, there was no way someone could defeat him easily. He had undergone numerous training during his days in the Council. Brandon was practically a killing machine if he desired to be. Nothing was indicating that he was attacked in the room. The safe house was fully reinforced and soundproofed. But the motion sensors in the perimeter had logged an intruder's presence a few minutes ago. Vincent sat down and typed on the keyboard, mapping the intruder's movement. "The intruder had followed Brandon's tracks," he said to himself before an alert appeared on the screen. Something had happened in the west wing

Chapter 28
"Your ability is the worst," Vincent grunted, running his hand in his hair. Leto didn't only have one ability, unlike other shapeshifters. In fact, Leto and Celeste were the only known shapeshifters who had more than one ability. But Leto's ability was far worst than others. The only reason he got this far fooling Brandon was that Leto had mimicked Celeste's existence down to the core. He was able to replicate her memories into his own, her scent, and anything about her. He got it all easily. Considering his close relationship with her, it wasn't hard for Leto to pretend to be her. Vincent patted Brandon's hand. "The woman is still somewhere in this building. He must've followed her when she was tracking you." Leto charged in before Brandon could say anything. He hardened his hand with diamond skin and sent a punch to Brandon, who used both arms to shield himself. The cracking sound of broken bones e

Chapter 29
Celeste's eyes fluttered open, and her nose breathed in a familiar scent. Groaning with a hand pressed against her forehead, Celeste sat up and looked around. Nothing felt familiar. The bed smelled like Dante, and her clothes smelled exactly like him. His scent was everywhere in the room. Celeste's eyes widened before reaching for the door and rushed out, not knowing why she would smell Dante's everywhere but couldn't hear him anywhere. "That's not it!" Leto's voice came from somewhere. Celeste made her way, following the sound of the voice until she stumbled into a room and saw Leto and Dante staring at a computer while an unknown man was doing something in the kitchen."What kind of unholy combination is this?" Celeste asked. She knew Leto always had a hard time trusting someone, let alone talking to someone and treating them like friends. "Where am I? Where are we? And

Chapter 30
Brandon sat in the waiting room, hands trembled on his lap as he waited for the doctor to come out of the ER. After what happened at the safe house, Brandon rushed Celeste to the ER because her eyes were bleeding, and he didn't know what to do as he listened to her moaning in pain with blood tears rolled down her cheeks.  Rushing her to the ER seemed like the right thing to do. Now, here he was—sitting nervously and waiting for the doctor. Brandon felt like he wanted to barge in and demanded answers, but he kept himself calm. He wouldn't be able to think straight if his emotions got in the way. He was supposed to feel scared and everything because Celeste was his mate, but Brandon couldn't do that now. He had to stay calm and think rationally. Many lives depended on him. "I couldn't contact him," Leto entered the
