The whole time that Emily was getting dressed, she worried about what Gabriel and the others would think about what Agatha told her. Would they hate her because she is basically bringing a war to them? What about her abilities? How will she be treated if she really is as strong or powerful as Agatha says she will be? Will they still accept her if she is a lycan? Taking a deep breath Emily quickly looked in the mirror and realized that she was as ready as she was going to get.  As soon as Emily stepped out of the bathroom she saw Gabriel waiting by the bedroom door for her. She could tell by his face that he was talking to someone. Emily hurried to his side since she is the reason that he was not already at the meeting. “I’m sorry that I held you up,” she said quietly.  F

Gabriel was happy that everyone was supporting his mate and that no one was wanting to blame her for this mess with the hunters, but at the same time he did not like the fact that she was going to be in danger. He heard what she said Agatha told her about being strong and them gaining strength from each other, but she was not raised as a warrior or with her abilities. Even as cubs, shifters start simple training, and the training increases as they gain their wolves and age. Others gain and start using their powers at an early age too. Emily never got to use or even experience her power. She does not know how she will respond to the powers when she gets them. It takes years to master skills if you are not super powerful. With her being as strong as Agatha is saying, who knows how long she would really need to be in control of her abilities. Everything for her is based on what might or should be. Emily

Emily groaned as she tried to open her eyes. Her eyelids felt so heavy, but she felt like she really needed to wake up for something. Gathering her strength she was finally able to open her eyes. Blinking a few times and turning her head, Emily realized that she did not know where she was. Looking around everything was dark, but she could see at the same time. She was laying on the floor and the chair that she had been sitting in while in the conference room was on the floor beside her. She must have fallen out of the chair or it fell over putting her on the floor. Emily scrunched up her face trying to remember what happened. She remembered being in the conference room and then the hunter that was talking to them said that Lord Rotterford knew that she was there. She could understand if she fainted, but fainting did not explain where she was now and where everyone had gone.

“Yes,” Emily said, sitting up slowly. Her head felt like it was swimming, but she knew she needed to share what she had just learned. “I just met my grandmother. She said that she and Agatha were able to unlock my abilities.” Looking toward Samuel she said, “She is on her way. She is planning to be here by the end of the week.” Turning to her right she looked at Breanna and pulled her mother’s necklace and ring out from under her top. “She said that a tracking spell had been placed on these and to see if you could remove it,” Emily said showing the necklace and ring to Breanna.  “Oh, wow,” Breanna said, letting Emily drop the necklace into her open palm. “These are beautiful. The center stone is moonstone and it has a lot of power stored in it. I bet a

Emily tried turning her head away from the light that was shining in her eyes. She turned her head to bury it further into her pillow when she realized she did not feel the softness of a pillow but instead heard rustling, crunching, and what felt like little needles poking her. As she began to wake up more she realized that her whole body felt sore and that she felt more little needles, rustling, and crunching as she stretched and moved her legs. Opening her eyes, Emily realized that she was laying on the forest floor. Sitting up quickly and looking around she did not see anyone, but she did see the large bloody carcass of some animal about fifteen feet from where she was laying. Emily looked down to see if she was injured and saw that she was completely naked. She did not have a scratch on her, but there was a large amount of blood smeared across her chest, stomach, and thighs. Looking at her hands

Emily was relieved that the trip back to the valley was uneventful for her and Rica. She felt bad that she had scolded Rica earlier for their adventure last night once she could feel just how happy she was being out and able to run. Rica almost seemed like a kid in a candy shop. There were a few times that they would startle a deer or rabbit, and Emily would have to force Rica to focus on getting back to the valley. Once all of this was over she would make sure that she let Rica run free more. Rica? Emily asked. Hmm? Rica replied. What was it like when you were locked away all of those years?Sighing Rica took a minute to respond. Do you remember whe

“Yes, I was able to make the trip a lot quicker than anticipated,” her grandmother replied. “I see that you have met Rica,” she said with her eyes flashing purple for a second.  “Yes,” Emily said walking the rest of the way to her grandmother. “We introduced ourselves yesterday, but I guess we met officially this morning,” Emily said with a rueful grin.  Chuckling her grandmother replied, “I bet she was eager to get out and stretch her legs. I heard that you had a little adventure last night. That is what helped me get here so much quicker. Agatha had Breanna here aparate and bring me here. I might have to learn how to do that one day.” “Will I e

“This means that there wouldn’t even be much of a war at this point, right,” Breanna asked. “Honestly, I do not want to jinx us, but it does seem like that,” Agatha said. “Gabriel, how about your side? WHat are we looking at with just shifters versus hunters?”“Our biggest issues would be them using weapons. Even our best warriors would be taken down for a while if they took a bullet to the head. Assuming that they would not have time to detach heads, we would not have many casualties,” Gabriel said. “Agatha,” Emily asked, “what about the visions that you shared with me yesterday? Have they changed or do you have a way of seeing if they have changed?”“I would need to go and s

“Well, that’s not all there is to completing the mate bond,” her grandmother said with a chuckle. “But that is part of it.”  Emily groaned and covered her face to help hide her blush. She peaked through her fingers and looked up at her mate. He was grinning down at her and gave a little shrug. “I mean Conri, and I are willing to make the sacrifice since it will help with a war and all,” he said with a wink.  “Oh my gosh,” she groaned and covered her face. Just kill me now she thought to herself.  They do have a point. Rica said.

Emily was pretty sure that she broke a couple records while rushing to get ready. The whole time her stomach was growling and grumbling urging her to move faster so she could get something to eat. Within her forty five minute time frame she was able to take a much needed shower. She was still embarrassed thinking about how she had been walking around with so much blood still all over her. Emily really thought in her mind that more of it had been removed with her shifting and everything. She saw how bad she actually looked when she looked in the mirror in the bathroom before hurrying into the shower. Once in the shower, she had cringed at how quickly the water had turned dark. Seeing how bad her appearance had been, made her even more glad that she had thought to shower and change before going into town. How in the world had Gabriel still thought she looked attractive in any way was a mystery to her. Figuring that she was getting close to her time limit, Emily quickly finished blow
