Sylvia was alone on the bed when she woke up the next morning. There was a hint of sense of loss in her chest before she got over it and sat up on the bed. Following that, she washed up before heading downstairs. There was a dull fear remaining within her, and being alone in her room increased that. That’s why, she was quick to leave her room. It was little late to have breakfast. When Sylvia head downstairs, her steps stopped at the sight of Liam. The man’s eyes fell on her, scrutinizing her. “Thank you,” Sylvia expressed. It was indeed because of Liam that she got abducted. However, he had the choice of not going through trouble and abandoning her. But he didn’t choose to do so. There was no way he didn’t suffer from losses by choosing to rescue her in that manner. And for Sylvia, being treasured was a foreign feeling. Regardless of how she normalized not being cared for, in the end, she did crave for love. “What are you thanking me for? It’s my responsibility. And I apologize

“That’s none of your business. Get out!”Instead of listening to his words, she sat on his bed and voiced out, “You can spend nights in my room, and I can’t be here for a couple of minutes?”Without saying anything, he reached out for her and grabbed her arm, pulling her up in the process. His actions made her pout.“Can’t you tell me about your mother? I am curious,” she voiced out.“You don’t have the right to. Next time, it wouldn’t end nicely for you if you enter my room.”“I am sorry if it is a sore spot, but what’s with your attitude? Can’t you be more, well, personable?”She frowned. He sneered.“I already hate it that I can’t hate you enough.”This was frustrating.“Why are you so adamant on hating me!? With the way you act, one would think I killed your parents or something!” she exclaimed.“That’s because you did.”His words caught her off guard.“W-What?” she slowly asked.“You are the reason my mother is dead.”Sylvia’s eyes widened at it. Blake’s gaze gave her chills, and

“Who told you to meddle? You are seriously annoying.”He glared at her. This made her scrunch up her nose.“I was afraid of you burning me next out of jealousy,” she voiced out, “and here I thought women’s jealousy was scary.”“Fucking don’t mention it again,” he expressed.“Right. Wouldn’t want to set you off. How did it go?”He scoffed.“He only talked about business. What sort of mushy stuff were you expecting? That’s disgusting.”That made her face fall fast.“Eh? What do you mean? Do you mean all of my efforts had gone to waste?”“He did add that he was proud of me as if I wanted to know that. Obviously, I am excellent.”He scratched the back of his head. To Sylvia, he seemed to be embarrassed, and contrary to his looks, she found her being cute.“What is this? Look at you. You are the type to like being showered in compliments,” she expressed, “next time, whenever you feel antsy, come over to me. I will smother you with them.”“You will?”He arched his eyebrows. She nodded her h

Ever since that day, Blake ignored her. Whenever he saw her, he turned his head the other way. While this was nothing new between the two of them, this time he showed much more persistence. This made Sylvia feel conflicted. While this was good, she craved for moments with him as well. Nonetheless, it seemed that during this time, Blake grew increasingly busy from what she learned. As for Sylvia, she got accepted into the university she had been applied for along with Nathan. Once the vacation was over, it was time to give her goodbyes. On the day of Sylvia’s leaving, Liam gave her enough instructions to write a book. For the most part, they entered one ear and left with the other. She mindlessly nodded. However, when his next set of words fell, Sylvia frowned.“Don’t get close to any boys. Dating is not allowed.”“What do you mean? I am old enough to date,” Sylvia expressed.“Too dangerous.”She felt baffled.Nonetheless, in order to give him a peace of mind, she chose to not argue an

As Sylvia returned back into the house, she turned on the phone screen in order to check the time only to realize that the phone in her hand belonged to Nathan. Both of them had same models of phone and cover, so they usually got mixed up. This was entirely a coincidence, and finding it to be funny, they decided to leave it like that.He should know her phone’s password and can use it. It’s too late to return it to him anyways. As Sylvia was about to climb up the stairs, she noticed that Blake was talking with few men. A serious expression sat on his face, and his presence was quite prominent and domineering. He surely knew how to stand out even now. After that, he dismissed the man, and his eyes fell on Sylvia. This made her give him a small. She then prompted to ask, “So, how is the relationship between you and Jennifer going? I thought I would be invited to your engagement by now.”Sylvia tried to block out as much as information as she could about Blake in order to get over him. T
