“It was on my way.”Oh! Then, how come he knew they weren’t home?Of course, Sylvia didn’t ask that and went along with what he had to say. Maybe he had to leave house for a reason or someone just told him.“Why am I seeing the old bastard here? I must be drunk.”Hearing Blake say that made Sylvia’s expression collapse. The smile on her face stiffen. As for Liam, he had no change shown on his face.Blake then grabbed on to Sylvia’s arm and pouted at her before saying, “Boss, let’s get away from there. I hate this old bastard! I don’t want to see his face. It disgusts me.”Those are some strong words used.Sylvia’s eyes shifted between Blake and his father. Why did it feel as though the two of them were used to such interactions? Nonetheless, albeit funny, it was awkward for her.And Blake was also calling her boss.“Stand up properly and let go of her, Blake,” commanded Liam.“Boss, can you hear that? It’s as though a mosquito is buzzing. Let’s leave.”“Blake, are you forgetting? I am

However, only few minutes after that, she ran out with a scream and leaped on to Blake’s shoulder. She wrapped her hand around his neck tightly. She wasn’t sure whether or not was it an illusion, but she saw something move inside. And Sylvia knew how to concede in time. What was the use of holding on to pride if she would die out of heart attack as a result of it?While she didn’t believe in the existence of supernatural, who knew what actually existed in the vast world? That’s why, she didn’t want to risk for few seconds of bravery. It wasn’t worth it in her absolutely logical brain.“Let go of me.”Blake tried to remove her hands from around his neck, but she only held on to him tighter, determined to stay attached to him.She stubbornly shook her head.“No, you will throw me into the cave.”She shuddered at the thought of the inside of cave. Blake felt the slight motion and didn’t know whether to be offended or pleased by seeing her act in this manner. After, how was a dark cave mo

Only a small wound sat on his forehead. The rest of his body was covered in blood. Seeing how he looked all well in front of her, Sylvia didn’t mind the blood and tried to pull him to hug her.Blake was caught off guard, but he acted fast by getting down. Although this was strange for him, he didn’t resist and let her wrap her hands around him. Her body was trembling as she broke out into sobs.He didn’t think she would be this afraid.“I was so scared. It was dark, and there was the bullets. I was worried they will find me. And you, I thought you will be attacked. Are you alright?”“Hmm,” she responded.Once Sylvia couldn’t cry anymore, she pulled away from him. Embarrassment flooded her due to the way she acted. It was because of being too overwhelmed. At least Blake wasn’t too inconsiderate to push her away. She was about to stand up when her head spun, and before she could collapse, he carried her in his arms. This startled her, and she started to move due to the discomfort.“You

As she was back from the trip, Sylvia avoided everyone. She couldn’t bear the sight of her mother or Liam after how they forced this on her. As for Blake, she couldn’t face him.She was scared of her attraction towards him. She only grew more aware of how she felt towards him after that kiss, and that’s something she didn’t want. Her having affections towards him would only make things difficult for her.For Blake, it was a moment of enjoyment, but Sylvia couldn’t take it in this manner when she feared being attached. That’s why, until the school opened, she spent her days in her room, not caring about social interactions. She ate in her room too.Sylvia thought she could turn to painting to calm her turmoil, but the only inspiration she had was related to Blake. That’s why, in the end, she gave in. However, instead of drawing him attractively, she tried to make fun of him in the portraits. She hoped that would diminish his charms. When she was tired of drawing, she read books. The li

Sylvia paused at the scene.Three boys stood tall. They were well-built and had a sadistic grin on their faces as they derived fun out of torturing the smaller boy sitting on the ground, covering his head for protection. She recognized the boy to be Mark.It would be best for Sylvia to pretend that this scene was invisible and walk away from there. All the other students did that. No one called for the teachers. From what she learned after being at this school was that the teachers held barely any power. The students ruled the school. Therefore, even if the students complained, the teacher would order them to not create an issue over petty matters. What classy school? It was entirely rotten.Sylvia truly didn’t have high sense of justice and wished to leave. Even if she protected him one time, it didn’t mean that he wouldn’t be attacked again. But she recalled how Mark considered her a friend. He smiled at her and approached her. Just where was that Emma who stuck to him all day long,
