Chapter 41: Battle Preparations
Killian’s POV All my injuries from the ritual of the previous night had vanished by the next morning. "You did so well, alpha," Ciro said to me immediately I woke up. He and Ari had been by my side all night long. "Where's Erika?" I groaned. "She dosed off," he answered, gesturing to the floor where I saw Erika lying fast asleep. "She had been up all night and insisted she'd stay here till you wake," Ciro told me. "So I suggested she should get a nap there on the floor, cause her eyes were already sleepy." Alek growled immediately, annoyed that Ciro had let Erika sleep on the cold floor without covering her with a blanket. "Calm it down, Alek," I sighed, looking down at my stomach. Looking back up to Ciro, I voiced out in a terrified tone, "Ciro... What I saw last night..." "What?" He asked. "Half of my Deltas... Half of my Delta warriors is against me," I said in a saddened voice. "What?!" He exclaimed, eyes popping out, "Half of what?!" "This is crazy," Ami said. "I nev

Chapter 42: I'm Right Here
ERIKA'S POV "Killian... Killian... Killian!" I screamed, jolting up from the bed all of a sudden. "I'm right here," his soft voice growled beside me. With the base of his palm, he wiped some lines of tears away from my cheeks. "Am I crying?" I looked with surprise. "You were probably having a bad dream," he said. "What did you see?" Immediately, my mind flew back to the dream which I had only woken up from, like a minute ago. "Killian, I'm afraid," I hugged him tight when the details of the dream flooded into my memory. "You don't have to be afraid. I'm always here to protect you," he assured me, patting me on the back fondly. My neck, my armpit, and my back were all sweaty. Fear crippled me as I remembered the flash dream where I saw him on the floor bleeding to death while in a wedding suit. "You don't have to tell me what you dreamt," he said to me. "Just get dressed, I want to take you to the stream for fishing." He placed a soft kiss on my moist lips and I breathed in t

Chapter 43: Wedding Dress
ERIKA'S POV "Would you do me the honor of letting me be the one to sew your wedding dress?" "I have no objections, boss," I said to Luke. "Oops!" He suddenly gasped. His needle had broken, while he was sewing. I watched as he removed the broken one and switched it with a new one. But then, putting the thread was a problem. He was about rummaging his pockets for his glasses when I offered to help. I carefully passed the tiny white thread through the eye of the needle. My eyes were keener than Luke's. "Thanks so much, dear," he said to me. His legs began pedaling the machine again and his hands pushed the fabric forward as the needle tugged in and out of it, making holes and passing the white thread through it. "I'm very sure you've missed your work so much," he smiled as he suddenly observed my eyes were glued to what he was doing. I rubbed the back of my neck nervously. My eyes went to the machine I used to sew when I was working, and a sigh fled my lips. "It's well. I can

Chapter 44: Jealous
KILLIAN'S POV Erika and I got to Luke's office. She quickly rushed and hugged him. Alek flinched. I smiled weakly as Luke nervously greeted me, knowing that I should get upset about the way my future bride glued to him in that hug. "How may I be of service to you, alpha?" He bowed. "I'm not here for much," I told him, "I just want to know if you can make a wedding gown for your friend who's about to get wedded to me." "Yes," I can, Luke swiftly replied. "Very well, then. You can begin with the measurements," I said to him. "And lest I forgot, I want the wedding gown made of the most beautiful fabric there is now. I don't mind how much it costs." "Yes, alpha," Luke nodded. I took a seat while he got his tape and a book which he used to write down the measurements he took. He was measuring Erika right in front of me. I watched them carefully as she swiftly assumed any position he needed to take the measurements correctly. But when he got to measuring her bursts, I almost lost i

Chapter 45: Nervous
ERIKA'S POV The third full moon of the month was at the start of the last week. It was the day my wedding was Killian was fixed. The announcement had put a smile on many faces in the pack, and they couldn't just wait for that day to come. The time of the wedding was fixed to later afternoon. The venue was situated at the center of the pack, which was were most events were carried out. On the eve of our wedding, Killian had organized the omegas in charge of cooking to prepare two types of meat to be served on the wedding. The smell of pork and mutton filled the atmosphere. I sat in my room all day long, thinking about the direction my life was now headed to. At first, I had been slightly excited that I'd get married to a renowned alpha. But later on, even that glint of excitement had vanished. I didn't know why, but I felt that the new state of life was coming too suddenly. At night, I watched my moonstone glowing in the little fish tank I had made for my goldfish. The little fish

Chapter 46: Predicting The Enemy
KILLIAN'S POV Based on the strategy I had in mind, if Sloane would make a move, it would be on the day I'm most distracted. My wedding day was the perfect day. And if he were to attack that day, then it would be before the full moon comes out. He wouldn't want to fight me when the full moon comes out, so I decided to fix the wedding time to be before the full moon comes out to draw him out. It was working, I could sense the impatience in Elder Jonas. His wicked old eyes couldn't hide his eagerness to have me pinned to the ground. The man whom uncle Paul had warned me about his eagerness to be alpha while he was young but never got to that position. Elder Jonas had contested for the alpha position with more than five generations now and still couldn't achieve it. Some people believed he was the one behind my father's death in battle. But that still didn't help him get into that alpha position because my father passed it down to me by letting me to stop his last breath. I had passed

Chapter 47: Attacked
KILLIAN'S POV "Drink this!" I quickly rushed to Erika. "What is it?" She asked hesitantly. "It's a potion that will protect your mind from any werewolf controlling it. Drink it fast!" I ordered. Quickly, she grabbed the cup, squinted her eyes, and gulped the whole liquid down. It was only a matter of seconds before the effect of the drug took place. She blinked repeatedly and shook her head. "What's...this... Ethan?" She murmured. "Take her to the underground and protect her!" I ordered Sandra and Ari. Immediately, they took Erika who was half-conscious now, and rushed off to where I had told them to. Seeing that they were gone, I quickly charged at Sloane, but before I could reach him, Ciro had already engaged him. The two of them began exchanging punches. But it seemed Ciro was putting in a lot of effort to keep him on par with Sloane. It had been two years since I fought Sloane last. But that bastard had never stopped scheming his evil plots. The last time I fought him, I

Chapter 48: I know you
KILLIAN'S POV "Alpha, I can provide you with some magic to boost your strength," I heard the priest's voice through the mind link. Together with Ciro, Ari, the elders, and some of my closest buddies, he was among those whom I let reach me through the mind link. "There's no need for that," I relayed back to him, "protecting the children comes first." The pups were locked in the underground sealed with the priest's magic. I didn't want anything comprising the safety of our pups. Even if we were defeated in the end, those children will be safe in that underground with the priest. And even if Sloane later employed the aid of witches to break that seal, it will require very powerful magic, and I trusted the priest to have many more wildcards up his sleeve. "I can do it," he persuaded me. But I warned him. "Stay back and watch the pups! It's an order." I'd never talked to him that way. I was still glued to the ground beneath Sloane's feet and he ranted still. "I know you, Killian, y

Chapter 49: My Luna
ERIKA'S POV The war was over, leaving its evidence buried in the ruins and the sad faces of those who lost their loved ones. But according to Killian, I had been able to reduce the number of losses by healing everyone who was still breathing. But I couldn't remember doing such. He said my wolf had awakened the previous night during the battle, but I couldn't sense the presence of any such thing. I felt normal. All the Deltas and omegas who remained helped to put some of the ruins together as well as bury our lost ones. But thank goodness, all our pups were safe. I found myself heading out to the temple of the moon goddess that afternoon. I couldn't tell how I was able to locate the temple which I had never been to before. When I got there, I stood staring at her huge statue. A nostalgic feeling roamed about inside of me. It felt like the temple was where I needed to be. Suddenly, I began hearing some ethereal noises, and it felt like my soul was about to lift off from my body, but

Chapter 50: No Mercy
KILLIAN'S POV "Those five," I said to Ciro as we headed back to the pack. "They think they can betray me and then come back to beg for mercy. They're lucky I didn't even kill them off right there." "Even Diana had come last night, asking me to beg you for pardon," he told me. "Like hell, I'd do that! She walked in her father's path and now the result lies before her face. She has to accept what she has brought upon herself," I declared. "People could be foolish at times," Ciro remarked. "There are still some opposers within the pack who luckily for them, didn't join elder Jonas in his treachery," I pointed out. "A least, they must have changed now, seeing that your mate is truly powerful and worthy of Luna," Ciro said. I smiled. He seemed to be defending them probably because Sandra's father and elder sister were among those I was talking about. "Henceforth, I'll show no mercy to whoever opposes me," I declared. "And about the training, I told you about— can't you squeeze out
