Hrolf glared at the man who had the sharp edge of the sword placed close to Ashina's neck, he ran his eyes around. All it will take would be a flick of his wrist and she would end up dead and he didn't want that. "Who sent you?" Hrolf asked again, this time his voice higher than usual, his gaze running through the men who were standing close by, his mind running as fast as it could. He didn't want any harm coming to either Ashina or Gael and to make sure that didn't happen, he had to think as fast as possible. One of the assailants, who he presumed to be the head, walked closer to him with a smirk on his face."You are all alone here and although I was given instructions not to touch you, I am tempted to pierce this dagger through her throat and that will be all it will take to cause you pain," a glint flashed through his eyes, one which annoyed Hrolf. Hrolf clenched his fist until he could hear his bones crack, he had been patient enough and he was going to do whatever it was to s

The air was ominous and everyone was waiting for her, the harbinger of troubles. They all kept cheering at their Gamma for making the decision that he had. They all believed that she was the one who had hurt Hrolf and she deserved to die. Ashina averted her head to the ground as different thoughts flashed through her mind. She had tried all she could to heal him but she couldn't no matter how hard she tried to, she just couldn'tIt had been weeks since Hrolf slumped after telling her that he missed her and he had failed to respond to any treatmentA smile crept on her face as she stared at the chains which were around her wrist. It was fixed firmly and tightShe smiled wryly as she thought of their moment together, his smile and his happy face when they were together, she had been stopped from meeting with Gael also and she wondered to what extent Erik's hatred would goHe had always liked her so she couldn't pinpoint where exactly this new hatred that he had for her had stemmed from

"Noo, I do not want to die" she screamed out loud, but her voice came out as a whisper when compared to the voices that kept chanting to have her head. "Gamma Erik, you cannot let this happen, I cannot die, not now," she pleaded, but Erik was adamant. He was at a loss for what to do. He gazed at Cassie who ordered him to keep shut and although he wasn't one to take instructions from anyone who wasn't Hrolf, he did as she had said happily. "Cassie," Ashina blurted out, she shook her head when Cassie glared at her angrily."Beta Cassie, we have had good days and bad days also, but think about those days when I spoke in your favor, do not allow the clamoring of the crowd to swerve you from saving me," she pleaded. Cassie threw a disgusted look at Ashina before withdrawing her gaze "You know that we have to do the bidding of the crowd, never forget that," she told Erik who she assumed was still contemplating. Erik grabbed her wrist before pulling her outside. "You know we cannot le

The emotions that coursed on Hrolf's face made Ashina wish that she hadn't told him what she had before.Although she knew that Erik had hurt her and she was supposed to let Hrolf know about it, she felt a little bit guilty."You don't have to, I am sorry that you had to go through all of this alone" his voice was sympathetic and Ashina could feel her nerves relax as she succumbed to Hrolf's touch. "I couldn't fathom all that had happened because it all happened within a minute, just a minute before I was sitting close to you on this very bed" Ashina's voice was clogged and she gulped in her spittle as she let the tears flow down. "And then the next I was being manhandled by two guards and dragged toward the dungeon, I was scared Hrolf, in a way that I haven't before," she confessed." Shush, it is okay, I am here now" Hrolf's hands smoothened her blond hair that needed to be washed and oiled, not caring about the dirt that was on it. "I was scared of everything, I didn't want to d

Hrolf's steps were slow as he walked toward the white owl's room. It felt like he was treading on a field filled with needles that would prick him if he wasn't careful. He could still remember the last time he was here and the last thing that he had been told resonated in his head as he walked past.He had tried his hardest to keep Ashina to himself without letting her go and it had been easy because he had fallen in love with her while doing that. "Alpha Hrolf," the white owl's disciples bowed their heads to the ground when he walked in. His gaze was focused and he felt his palm sweaty when he walked past the door "Stay here," he ordered to Erik who nodded at the instructions that he had been given. He took steps backward before walking away.He was going to get fresh air since he felt that he might choke anytime from now, he had never thought that a day was going to come when he would be harmed for Ashina's sake and that showed him how fickle the human mind was. He had been with
