Chapter Forty-One
Hidden torment. “Please Aida, take a seat!” Doctor Wessex gestures for me to sit at the clear plastic desk. Easy to clean I suppose! I do as requested and Lance sits on the chair next to me. As Doctor Wessex sits down he removes his glasses, no doubt to look at me more intently.“Before we start with the scan, are you on any medication?” “No Doctor, I’ve been refused medical intervention!” I enjoy reminding him. “No birth control?” He looks down through a file before looking between Lance and I. Well this is awkward. “Erm, no!” Kill me, kill me now.“Okay, thank you Aida. When we enter the next room I will need to strap your head down, will you be okay with that?”No! “Yes!” I respond. “I’ll need a fellow doctor to help run the tests, is that okay?” Doctor Wessex continues. No! “Yes!” “Lance, you will need to stay in here!” No! No he promised. “I promised Aida, I’d be with her all the time!” Lance cuts in. “I’m afraid I can’t allow that!”“But there’s no radiation!” Lance

Resignation. I could feel the hell fire growing in the pit of my stomach before I even opened my eyes. The anger of my wolf, my wolf who had chosen to protect me against certain memories and memories that had been triggered by Doctor Wessex’s testing, was insufferable. My eyes open to a white sterile ceiling and beeping machines surrounding me. The hospital room was much larger than the base camp medical rooms, these lycans clearly had wealth and riches. Axel is asleep in the visitors chair, he must have been tired, those chairs look extremely uncomfortable. I rip the tubes out of my arm, squirting blood all over the bed sheets. I look at my body, I am clothed and spot my shoes by the door. Within seconds I have my shoes on and am walking out of the hospital room door. I remain quiet to not wake up Axel. I don’t need him informing Doctor Wessex, Lance or Felicity of my self-discharge just yet. I’m clearly tired and weak, but the adrenaline from my anger was giving me strength. I kn

The best version of yourself. I watch as the elegant Lycan Queen enters the car, ushered by security, and then swiftly driven away. I sit there in silence, unsure what has just happened. Why would the Lycan Queen want to speak with me? “Aida?” Axel touches my shoulder again, making me jump. I didn’t realise he had gotten so close again. “What was that about?” I asked, turning my head to look up at him. “I’m not going to lie, you seem to have made a name for yourself here! Lance and Mav have been trying to keep you hidden but a feisty unmated she-wolf was only going to stay under the radar for so long!” He crouches down next to me, placing his hand on my back. “Do you want to head back?” He seems different, sad. “Please don’t tell Lance what I said?” I whisper, my head looking down to my hands. The Queen seemed to be able to make me submit to each question without using a command on me. “Oh princess, I can’t keep something like that from him.” …..I’ve been back in Lance’s apa

Chapter Forty-Four
Hong’s birthday meal It was the middle of December and Lance hadn’t returned yet, his mission seems to be more involved than he had originally planned. I was extremely worried but Mav and Axel gave me regular updates that he was safe. I wanted to know everything but they wouldn’t share intel in case we were overheard, we still thought there might be a leak in the Lycan pack. My body was strong, as we were coming to the end of phase one of training, I hadn’t known my body to be so muscular yet lean. My tummy was taut, my ass was tight yet still curvy and my breasts were still on the larger side compared to most she-wolves but I was learning that being different was okay. My mind still had a long way to go! My wolf longed for Lance and I was waiting for his return any day. Blake, Hong, Tate and I were the perfect training foursome. We supported one another, teased one another and certainly knew how to piss each other off. We had a week left of training and then it was winter break. Ev

Winter Break.A week later and it was the final day before winter break. We had completed morning training and were packing before a celebratory lunch and finishing training early. I planned to hitch a lift with Hong to the local human train station, the rest I could figure out on the way. Hong had spent the week trying to talk me out of my plan and actually invited me to his pack. As much as I wanted to go to his pack, the political fall out for Hong and his dad, from my brother and father would be unfair. I would never want to knowingly cause Hong any trouble or put him in danger. He has become a good friend of mine and I could never do that to him. I had done as promised and ordered a mobile phone online and had it delivered to the local collection depot. These Lycans were smart, they had a small office in a nearby human town that acted as a safe delivery location. Then the items would be delivered onsite here, no humans were needed to deliver on site, keeping the shifter community

Living with a human. On my way out of the hotel, I booked in for another night! It was a reasonably priced hotel and a convenient location. It would give me the opportunity to check out some of the listed properties near by, especially at night time to see how noisy they might get from traffic or general footfall. If I liked a particular street, I could set up available rental properties for nearer May time, when I will hopefully be completing level 3 of the training. Realising just how busy this area is, I was extremely lucky to find an available hotel for two nights in a row. After a morning shower I still couldn’t get the crepes from yesterday out of my mind. I grabbed a latte from a local coffee shop and indulged in some retail therapy. I didn’t go crazy, just some sports leggings and tops, a sports bra, trainers and some sexy lingerie, you know for me! I held off for as long as I could before returning to the crepe stall. My wolf was pushing my legs for me, eager to sample the

Chapter Forty-Seven
A brother’s agony It took me ten minutes to unpack! Yet I’ve spent two hours in this bedroom. I contemplate jumping out of the window to escape but I didn’t want to cause any stress on Colette, and Mav seemed stressed enough for the both of them. There’s a small knock on the door, when Colette enters. She smiles sadly at me before walking in and joining me on the bed. “Mav didn’t mean it, he just worries about me and the baby….and you!” “Me?” What have I got do to with any of this. “He promised Lance he would look after you. Then first day on his watch and he can’t find you!” She chuckles. “Oh…!” I’m not really sure what to say. “He used to be very carefree, very calm!” She adds. “Mav…Mav used to be carefree?” I huff. “Oh yes. We met on a civilian rescue mission. I was a medic in the army and Mav, Lance, Tucker and Axel classed themselves as special ops. We didn’t know they were lycans, why would we? Humans don’t know about their existence, only in fairy tale stories.” “Did

An interrupted pre-Christmas Dinner. It was now 23rd December and Colette was extremely cute having her Christmas tree and lights up. Knowing I was going to be staying she also went to the effort of providing me with my own stocking to hang out for Christmas morning. Her excitement was bouncing off her and I seemed to be absorbing some. Mum used to love Christmas, yes it was a human holiday but she used to get involved in the magic of it all, just as Colette was. Mav and Axel had left this morning to report back to the base regarding a matter they didn’t want to share. I’m glad I’m not the only one that found lycan mind-linking irritating, Colette seemed to get annoyed with it also. I hadn’t asked but reading between the lines, her being marked didn’t seem to give her the mate mind-link with Mav. Which made Mav’s overbearing protective behaviour towards her completely understandable and dare I say warranted. She had preplanned a meal out with some of her friends in the local town an

Smelling of lycans. It actually wasn’t too bad as cells go! It was comfortable but the chains attached to the wall had me feeling things could turn sour anytime soon. The walls were painted magnolia, with scuff marks on the lower parts most likely from frustrated captives kicking out. The door was a strong wood most likely oak, with a barred window for the brutes to regularly check on me. By two hours I was done! My politeness about the situation was turning to anger. “Am I going to be held much longer?” I ask through the barred window of the door. “Alpha is a very busy man miss. He will be back once he has checked your identity. To make sure you aren’t a rogue!” “Do I smell like a rogue?” I reply with a smirk. “No miss!” One of the brutes chuckles at me. I sigh, realising I was going to have to use my full name. “Tell your alpha my name is Aida Sagar of the Sagar Wolf Pack. I mean no harm and didn’t know I had trespassed. I have friends that will be worried about my whereabout

Christmas Eve Flirt. “That’s absurd!” I try to laugh off their accusation. “I could smell them on you the moment I found you in the restaurant! Now I want to know why you smell of Lycans?” Alpha Rory’s aura crashes into me. But he underestimates my strength, there aren’t many alpha blood females around and I was about to show them how strong I was. “Please understand that I entered your lands by mistake and intend no harm. But I can and will defend myself if required!” The three sons take insult to my reply and stand up kicking their chairs behind them. “Is that a challenge?” The youngest Rowan growls at me. “No…but you are keeping me here against my will and I have friends that will be looking for me!” I remain calm, seated. “Lycan friends?” Luna Rennie calmly asks me. “Yes…I am currently training with the Royal Santos Lycan Pack.” Did I say something funny? Because judging by Rory’s, Rafe’s and Rowan’s response I had. I’m sure if they could, they would be rolling over on the
