Chapter Forty-Seven

A brother’s agony

It took me ten minutes to unpack! Yet I’ve spent two hours in this bedroom. I contemplate jumping out of the window to escape but I didn’t want to cause any stress on Colette, and Mav seemed stressed enough for the both of them. There’s a small knock on the door, when Colette enters. She smiles sadly at me before walking in and joining me on the bed.

“Mav didn’t mean it, he just worries about me and the baby….and you!”

“Me?” What have I got do to with any of this.

“He promised Lance he would look after you. Then first day on his watch and he can’t find you!” She chuckles.

“Oh…!” I’m not really sure what to say.

“He used to be very carefree, very calm!” She adds.

“Mav…Mav used to be carefree?” I huff.

“Oh yes. We met on a civilian rescue mission. I was a medic in the army and Mav, Lance, Tucker and Axel classed themselves as special ops. We didn’t know they were lycans, why would we? Humans don’t know about their existence, only in fairy tale stories.”

Aida deserves some truths. How about who is after her and why? The family? I hope Lance pays them a visit with Blake and the crew. Let them know Aida has a new life and they don't need to bother! That would be nice!
