It was the perfect night for dying in your sleep. Raven was hooded, wearing a long and thick black robe that hid his body features. He was walking majestically without any company, with a smile of success on his face. He had killed the second of his ten remaining step-siblings yesterday—practically driven up to her shabby house in a small California village and killed her peacefully. Now, he was in front of a Jamaica themed club in Los Angeles. He brought out his phone from his pocket and texted a “wait for me” message to Jordan who was on the wheel of his Mercedes car at the next street. Raven kept his phone back in his pocket after that. His gaze roamed around the street and the bar before him. The place was quite busy, with the majority of people who had come out of the club drinking on the

Dark-black room
When Nora got conscious, she noticed that her hands were tied to the back of an iron chair in which she sat. She made an effort to struggle, but soon realised that it was useless. Nora raised her face to look at the place she was in. She couldn't make-out a thing since the room was dark-black. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness, and she closed them for a second. She has been caught! For the first time in Nora's life, she felt really afraid. Though she couldn't see a thing, she could tell a window in the room was open as a result of the breeze that caressed her skin. Nora felt tears trickle down her face. So this was how it felt to know you're close to your death? She felt some strange type of cold, and knew it wasn't from the breeze. The room smelt of sour ginger, but it was also oddly comforting—like a chicken locked up in an air-conditioned room right after being told that it was going to die ten minutes later. At least she wasn't dead yet, which was probably a good

One more thing
It was 9p.m. Thursday morning. Alvin sighed, looking at the countless piles of files stocked on his table—the cons of being a CEO. The issue with Madrin has died—thanks to his father's help. Alvin tapped his fingers on his table as he thought of running away for the umpteenth time today. God knows he didn't care about the company, nor about his father's choices for him. What Alvin wanted was a small and peaceful town to live in; without the need to hide his face. There was no day the words of his mother didn't ring in his head. Her words were tormenting his brain so much that he was starting to believe her. Maybe his face was cursed, afterall. Or maybe, Alvin thought, he could do some sort of surgery which would mess-up his face and make him look like an average person. 'That is it!' he thought But Alvin knew his father would kill him if he even so much as voiced his thoughts. The only way for him to get out of this was marrying Amanda—who was the only woman that could s

Take me home!
Catherine walked to Nora's door, her feets hitting the ground in anger and impatience. “Nora!“ Nora could clearly hear her but she wasn't answering. She was writing some things she wanted to do if she ever got to live—despite Raven's plan for her. Darkie had drove her to somewhere not very far from her home with a black unlicensed vehicle. And it was almost 2a.m. when she got home. Catherine had been mad. She practically even had tears in her eyes as she opened the door for Nora to enter. Catherine screamed and constantly shook Nora while asking for an explanation of where and how she disappeared—but the strong-headed Nora never bothered to reply. Nora harshly pushed Catherine away from her, and walked over to her room after saying she “might” be in a good enough mood to explain later in the day. Then Catherine had called David, who immediately rushed over to the house with two bodyguards following after him since it was early morning. And even when David had also knocked on No

Green-eyed girl
Four days later… It was Monday. The sun was harshly hot in the sky, like it was trying to punish the people on earth. Los Angeles was busy as usual; everybody rushed with their various vehicles and some walked to their destinations. Alvin was in his office. And as always, he was bored and unhappy. He had a grim expression on his face which didn't seem friendly at all. Some applicants for his Personal Assistant position had come on Friday. They were five guys and three girls, but he didn't see what he wanted in any of them. The five guys had all looked too strong and muscular, and Alvin feared they'll only cause distractions to his female workers and he'll eventually have to reveal his face to them. For the girls, Alvin decided. They looked good enough and fit for the position; but they didn't exactly look like “males”. The real reason Alvin wanted a female that looked and had the features of a male is that he wanted an assistant that was physically and mentally strong. He k

Uncontrolled erection
Alvin tapped his shoes on the floor as he waited. The only strange thing was that he wasn't sure what he was waiting for. He was inside a large hospital room with Nora who was lying unconsciously on the bed. Alvin was seated on one of the chairs close to the bed, and he was trying really hard not to breathe-in the antiseptic smell that hung in the air. He had arrived more than thirty-minutes ago, and single-handedly rushed to the owner of the private hospital and asked for a special and comfortable room to admit the green-eyed girl. The Hospital-CEO and the other doctors had been sceptical when they heard him. Alvin was practically talking and demonstrating like Nora was in a more difficult and life-taking situation than just passing-out. They had assured him that she'd be fine after they gave her a chance for air and loosen-up some parts of her tight clothing. But Alvin didn't listen; he insisted that they admit her until she wakes up. And now, her eyes were still closed w

I bet my ass
The ride back to the company was completely silent. And Nora had to think about the reason she was meeting this man for the third time; and who he was for a person like Darkie to want to pay her because she saved him. They finally parked in the Blue Crystal's lot. And that was when reality came crashing on Alvin at once. What was he doing? Shouldn't he be freaking-out and be in a safe place while trying to find out the identity of the men who had come for him? Alvin had called one of his father's trusted men before he left the company and ordered him to come and take the three armed men to a place and make them wake up before torturing and asking the questions. Alvin had paid the man handsomely and continuously pleaded with him not to inform his father. None of the events that happened should ever leave the walls of Blue Crystal company. He looked at his watch. It was around 1p.m. Alvin was about to turn to Nora and tell her his intentions but she beat him to it. “So… w

Anger and anxiety
Last chapter's continuation Nora was angry; so angry that she felt like beating the hell out of Alvin at that moment. So the reason he stopped her was because he wanted to say she forgot her bag? She suddenly pushed his hands off her and walked to the car with anger. “The doors are locked,” Alvin calmly stated. “I locked them with the key.“ He brought up the key for Nora to see, just for emphasis. “Then freaking open it!“ Alvin walked up to her. For some strange reasons, something in his head didn't want her to leave, even though that was probably the best thing to do. She couldn't work for him now, anyway. But maybe she could serve another purpose. “Are you going to open the door or not?“ Nora asked. “Or you want me to leave the bag for you?“ In her mind, she was wondering who she hated most between David and this guy. Alvin sighed. “You earlier said you won't let me slip away from your hold.“ “That was before your father came and said to my face that I'm foll

Drunk
Nora's POV It was 3p.m. when I got to the start of my street, probably because I stopped at a mini-bar and had a few drinks. I could barely feel myself. The air that surrounded me was tight and hot and intense. I heard some children whispering around me as I walked. “Is she drunk?“… “Do you know her?“… and: “She looks familiar” were the few words my ears could catch. I wonder how I looked right now. I'm not sure I can safely make it to my apartment. I might as well crash on the road and wait for the cold hands of death. Drinking had never been my thing; I should have remembered that before I decided to take a “few drinks”. I was already regretting my actions just as I know I would. Maybe I shouldn't wait anymore. I should probably go to the Scorpion Mafia base in California and look for Raven myself—at least death will be quicker that way. I eventually managed to stagger home, and with my hazy gaze saw a face that looked familiar. Catherine ran to me. “Oh Nora! Where

Heartless Priscilla
Last chapter's continuation… Nora's POV I woke up to the sounds of two people's laughter. Weird. Catherine never brought anyone to the house. I felt weak. There were so much pains on my legs and hands like I was beaten in my dreams. My head felt heavy, and I suddenly knew I developed a migraine. I slowly got up from where I laid on, and realised with a pang that I was still in the business suit. Why hadn't I… I heard voices coming from outside, and suddenly got a recollection of everything that happened. “That woman,” I muttered. “Catherine said she is my mother.“ I soon realised that I wasn't on my bed but on the big cushion in the sitting room. Jesus! Did I really go unconscious for the second time today? I stood up from the cushion entirely and went outside. My gaze fell upon the woman and Catherine seated across each other, laughing cheerfully while playing cards. I suddenly clenched my fists in anger. What was this woman doing here? And why does Catherine f
