Drowned
Author's POV Forty-five minutes after his father called, Alvin arrived at the Pineapple villa. It was Mr Miller's most expensive building out of the hundreds he owned. And since Mr Miller was a big lover of fruits, he named all of his houses and villas with hundreds of fruit names—so much that Alvin couldn't keep track and was eventually given a special tab by him that gives the location of all the houses. This particular one was so big that it would fit into a half stadium. And the security level is higher than the one in America's white house. Alvin drove his Lamborghini into the Villa, and stepped out with unexpectedly calm features. He wasn't wearing a mask; since nobody here can ever faint if they saw his face. He started walking to the building and soon got an irritated face with the way some of the men were bowing and greeting him. There were four swimming pools in the Villa, and Alvin passed the first one before getting to the wide golden door that led inside the bu

Hot and familiar
Author's POV Monday night was cool with a nice breeze, and unusually noisy as the people of Los Angeles were in and out of their houses doing stuff and enjoying the night. Nora could hear the sounds of a guitar as she lay on her room bed, and she sighed in frustration as the guitarist was playing a song that added to her sadness and anger. She had come back to her room right after Priscilla left. Catherine had gone out with her car, obviously not comfortable with the current mood that was radiating in the house. It was left for Nora to decide what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to get up and take a stroll alone to see if it'll calm her down but she was almost too weak to even get up from her bed. Why are bad things always happening to her? Who did she offend? Is there any other person in the world that is in a situation worse than hers? Nora opened her phone, going to her contacts to see if there was anybody she could call. None. She won't shed a tear; she prom

Careless bitch
Nora had come into the club twenty minutes after Alvin did. And she had consumed a couple of drinks and taken a chance on the dance floor. Now, she was at the bartender's rail again. She was drunk and talking about her past work experience with the male bartender. Nora held the bottle of one of the most expensive drinks in her hands; it had taken her whole income to buy it. She was drinking directly from the bottle and chatting with the enthusiastic bartender while throwing back her hair and laughing. And suddenly, a rugged and drunk-looking man comes to the chair and grabs her ass. Her eyes widened in shock and she hit the bottle on her hand to the bar rail. And without wasting time, Nora took his shirt in her hands and leaned up to hit his forehead with hers. The man staggered back at the contact, but returned almost immediately and slapped her across the cheek. Nora raised her right leg to kick him but the man held it in the air and dragged her closer to him, bending

Monday night was busy for Raven, because he had more of his step-siblings to kill. He was inside his black Mercedes car with Jayden and Jordan. Jordan was in the driver's seat, and Jayden was in the passenger's seat, but Raven was seated at the back because he was their future boss. Jordan was grunting at every minute that passed; he didn't seem to like Raven's routine, and he wasn't hiding it. Jayden on the other hand was completely quiet. His face was blank and expressionless; and he always had that look of longing in his eyes. It wouldn't take a genius to tell that all he wanted was avenging their late Don, Gomez Maxson. And he couldn't make a move without Raven, partly because most of the Scorpion mafia members respected him because he had Gomez Waxson's blood flowing through his veins. “We've been here for hours,” said Jordan. “What the hell are we waiting for?“ Raven didn't give a reply; he seemed to be exclusively interested in something in his phone. They were i

Handiwork of fate
When Alvin woke up, it was already morning. He stretched on the bed and his hands moved around to find his phone. He had a strange pain in his head, like there was a speaker playing repeated loud beats in there. After several attempts, Alvin realised his phone wasn't on the bed with him. Then suddenly, he got up when he remembered what happened the night before and the fact that he wasn't on his bed at home. Nora had completely slept-off right after saying “his face wasn't cursed ”. And he was so shocked and paralysed that he decided to wait in the room until she woke up and explain to him who she really was; and also how she knew the state he was in. Alvin looked around the room. She wasn't there. He sighed. “Maybe she left.“ Alvin jumped off the bed and saw that he was still in yesterday's clothes. How he got in the bed even after a drunk temptation was sleeping there was a mystery to him. “She couldn't possibly have left yet,” Alvin muttered, looking around to find

Big mistake (Matured contents)
Nora's POV When Alvin's lips landed on mine, I was so shocked and shaken to react. I am supposed to push him off me with anger but I found myself pushing his head closer to my lips. He continued kissing me like he was a pro at it, and I just moaned in silence and started to respond to him equally. Something deep in my heart told me I shouldn't be allowing him to do this to me. I had promised myself after my breakup with David that I would never have anything to do with any guy again for the rest of my life. But here I am, kissing a man I barely know and pushing him closer to me like a chick to its mother hen. His hands moved down from my back and cupped my bosom in possession; and the way his hands pressed and lingered there told me he had wanted to do that for a long time. Alvin's lips moved away from my mouth and kissed me under my ears, and I felt my legs going weak and useless over me. My hands moved to his well-defined back and I caressed it with all the power I have l

Last chapter's continuation… Alvin's POV I observed her expression after what I said, and I could see the shock and confusion in it. Had she indeed been dreaming when she said those things to me? I sincerely couldn't blame her. I myself would have stopped to consider my actions if she was the person being masked and if she had been in my situation—but I doubted there could be a woman that could make men go crazy if they saw her face. My hands grabbed the chair, almost breaking it in anger. This was becoming too much for me to handle. Why did I even tell her? I could have stopped and thinked of another excuse to give—surely she'd have believed it if I said I had some transferable skin disease or something. But eventually, if she is as smart as I think she is; she'd ask me to take it off despite that. The fact that she didn't make an attempt to remove the mask even when I was asleep made me realise just how respectful and thoughtful she was. She still wasn't saying anythi

Get well soon
Meanwhile, in California, Raven Waxson was lying on a small hospital-like bed. His left leg was tied with a nonstick bandage and elevated with a cloth tied at the head of the bed. He was half-conscious, and could barely make-out anything in his surroundings. With his blurred vision, he caught the sight of somebody walking to him some minutes later. “Future Don!“ the voice said. Raven tried to remember whose voice he was hearing; but he couldn't because his head and ear were ringing in pain. The only thing he could do was raise one of his hands to wave whoever it was. “You don't recognise me?“ asked the voice. “It's me—Venom.“ A muffled sound escaped Raven's lips, and he immediately propped his hands on the bed's pillow and stood up even though his legs were still in pain. He still couldn't see clearly; but his gaze was good enough to scan the face in front of him and know he was really who he says he is. “It's worse than I expected,” Venom chuckled, like he was very amus

Deciding
Alvin was in the bar with Nora and David, and they were all seated on three chairs with a table in the middle. The club was quite empty at this time of the day since it was still morning; only a few people were seated at the end with drinks on their table and lit Indian Hemp in their mouth. The club was much quieter compared to last night, and Alvin counted every second that passed with self-consciousness. There had been a shift of bartenders—and Alvin had snorted when they came to sit here some minutes ago; he'd have surely told Jake to deal with the male bartender if he was still there. The three people on the chair were all silent and seemed to be thinking of a way to start a conversation. David was picking at his nails and glancing at his watch at every minute. His face would usually turn sour when he saw the time, like he was expecting it to run without looking back. Nora was avoiding Alvin's gaze with a pale expression on her face. She had been the one that suggested th

Nothing starts with trust
Alvin's POV When we heard the gunshot, Nora froze in her spot and I drew her into my embrace. David was looking at the other side of the road where the possible shooters were. His hesitation to move more from shock than fear. I couldn't blame him. He probably thought the shooters were after him because he was a celebrity. David's bodyguard had all dispersed from the building after Nora came back to meet them outside the room, thus he didn't have any protection from harm now. I suddenly held Nora's hands in mine and started to go back into the club with her, but the stubborn lady was restraining and even fingered my hands. “Nora, are you out of your mind?!“ I asked her, my voice wavering in anger. Even if she wasn't on good terms with me. Is this the right time to show it? “No I'm not,” she replied. “We don't know who they came for, so I'm gonna see myself. And David is still out there.“ We were both just at the open entrance to the club, and we were behind the doors so
