It was early morning, and I had to prepare for work despite my body not being in good shape. I have a slight fever and I couldn’t do anything but drink medicine and go to work.I have been working as a janitor in a company for a year now. I did not go to college and started working when I was eighteen. I need to help my mother sell vegetables in the market, as I have an irresponsible father who does nothing but gamble. They’re still my parents, so all I could do was understand our situation and strive for our future. As I opened the door of my apartment, a group of five men came to approach me. I rolled my eyes in annoyance, as they visited me almost every day.“Good morning, Aurora,” one man greeted me.He has this long scar on his right eye. He looks scary, but I don’t mind as I’ve known them for a month since the day my father died.“What was good in the morning when I first saw your faces right in front of my apartment?” she murmured.“What are you saying?” Their leader looked li

I woke up, and it felt like my head would break into pieces. Damn! I will never drink alcohol again. Damn this hangover. I looked around to find my phone, but my eyes widened in horror when I realized I was not in my house. This place is not my room! Where am I?! I searched the room with my eyes, only to realize I was in the hotel. Fear immediately rumbled in my chest, and it felt like I was splashed with cold water as soon as I discovered that this was not my room but a hotel room. And my body was naked under the white sheet!!! What had just happened?! Quickly, I picked up my clothes, even though it was difficult for me to walk because of the pain in the middle of my thighs. I stopped picking up my clothes when I heard the splash of water coming from the shower as if someone was taking a shower there. I did not remove my sight of the bathroom door. After a while, the water turned off, and I heard the door latch open. I suddenly held my breath while waiting for the bathroom door to

“Who on earth would do this to you?” My friend, Belle, gave me a glass of water. After I saw the letter, I immediately called Belle to ask if I could sleep over at her house. I told her the incident happened at my house, and he came to fetch me. I put the glass on the table and looked at her. “I think it’s my dad’s shark loaners.” I could see the shock on her face as her eyes widened in surprise. “They came to ask for payment last Sunday. And I told them I couldn’t pay them yet. I’m still jobless. I promised to pay them on the 30th of the month. But maybe they were too eager to kill me because of my arrogance.” “Why don’t you borrow money from Mico? He’s your boyfriend. I am sure he will help you.” I shook my head at her suggestion. Right. I just remembered I hadn’t told her about what happened to me and Mico. “We broke up.” Her eyes widened as she gasped in shock. “When?! Why?! What happened?!” she asked simultaneously. “Calm down.” I let her sit on my side. “We broke up two w

“One bucket of beer, please!”Some people I knew gathered at a bar to socialize. It would be great to spend time together and relax, but unfortunately, work takes priority. I need money more than anything else. So, here I am, taking their orders.“Coming right up!” I answered.I stopped walking to the table and ordered a bucket of beer when I saw my former classmate, who was with our other batch mates.“Aurora?” She narrowed her eyes and looked at me with disdain when she saw me serving their drinks.“I thought I was just hallucinating. But it is you! How come you work in this place?” she asked.“I thought you were employed at a prestigious company, just like what I saw on your social media. Was that all a lie?” She snorted. She is Genvieve, my former classmate and the second top in our class. She always likes to bully me every time she sees me. I wonder why. I just shrugged my thoughts away.Instead of answering her questions, I took a deep breath and made a fake smile at her.“Anyth

Argh!!! What is happening to me?! I’ve been here for a month now. Yet, I still have trouble sleeping. Darn it! Why is it so hard to get enough sleep in this house? Is the house haunted? Or am I haunted? I kept tossing around to find a better position to sleep, but it still didn’t work.Last week, I took a day off and went home to my apartment. I was just leaning on the sofa, while watching my favorite Korean drama series and immediately fell asleep. I slept so long, and when I woke up, it was already morning. I wasn’t feeling hungry, which was unusual for me as I was always hungry. However, I still had trouble sleeping upon my return to Mr. Reed’s house.I walked to the kitchen to drink chamomile tea to help me calm down when I heard a woman murmuring about something I couldn’t understand while she walked down the stairs. She looks like a foreigner. And she’s not the same woman I saw last night. It’s also been a month since I discovered my boss, Mr. Reed, was a Casanova. He always inv
