Lucas stormed into his bedroom and locked the door behind him before he proceeded to punch his bed multiple times in anger. "How could she? How could she do this to me?" Marcus woke up to the annoying sound of his loud alarm clock which did not go off even after his many attempts to hit snooze and dismiss, all he knew was that he was aiming for one of the buttons right at the top of the alarm but could not hit either one.He was forced to rise from his pillow of despair to properly disarm the alarm. After a week of sulking and throwing a pity party, Lucas decided it was time to do exactly what Isabelle had done. Get over their time together and move on with his life.He had acknowledged within himself that he may have been wrong to treat her he way he did and divorce her in the manner that he had. He loved her through all the harshness and the pretence of not caring about her or about their union and the promises made to each other. Lucas sat the bar alone, if not for the almost glass of whisky that sat on the counter in front of him. He thought hard about the decisions he had made. The decision that had led him here. The decision that had broken him this bad and made him, for the first time in his entire adult life feel weak and uncertain about who he was or what he would do to sort out his problem.Lucas felt a palm on his hand, He lifted his head to see who it was and was met with a familiar voice before he could turn his head to look.“Lucas Archer? Lucas felt a sting in his chest after he heard what Mark had said. He wanted to argue, give his reasons, reasons that he thought would somehow justify his actions, both past and present but he could not.He knew that no amount of excuses would rectify what he did or the results thereafter and most importantly, he knew that Mark was not in any way trying to spite him or drag him further in the ground than he already was. Mark had always been there for him, especially in times like these. Times in which all he needed to hear was the truth. She did not get the answer she hoped she would from Marcus, but it was not as if he said he would not do it.She knew he would not take it lightly but a part of her expected him to understand and even agree.
