Leila’s head was spinning as she sat down alone in her apartment. She had called Gavin and he promised to circle back to her place, he had an important virtual meeting with some clients. The whole Adele issue could wait for a bit. Her phone chimed, she checked it and it was a message from Frank ‘I’m on my way sweets, traffic. Be expecting me in five’ She smiled. At least she was not going to be alone. She did not want to admit but she felt scared. Adele had taken a picture of she and Gavin last night and for all she knew, there was probably an hidden camera in more than one place. I mean, she came off as a strong willed person but whenever her mother was around, she just felt like a child all over again and it was dragging her down almost every time, that was one of the main reasons why she left Cali in the first place. The alarm woke her up at exactly 6:45, Leila sat down on the bed, she did not realize she would get so used to being at home . Now to go to work had become stressful for her. She heard the distant sound of the Television, her mom had probably slept off while watching it. She had to remind herself that she loved her mom and she was not trying to be wicked but the relationship was better off as distant. Her life here in New York was way complicated than when she was still in Cali and her mom might not really understand the concept of the whole thing. And there was nobody she could call right now. The meeting was in less than 30 minutes and she was very sure the board members would have hear about the SECRETARY SLEEPING WITH HER BOSS. She braced up herself to text Frank, she knew he had not seen or heard anything, that is why he has not come rushing to her office. She forced herself to not breakdown, the tears were threatening to come but she smiled through it, clearing her throat lightly before replying, “I am very sorry sir and respectfully, i do not think I would place myself in a position to lie on television. Mr. Hasters and I were at fault and I do not believe I should be the only one to take the fall for both of us” Mormont laughed sarcastically, “The meeting is over Miss Baker, you can help yourself out. Thank you.” Leila smiled awkwardly. She picked up the files from the table and took slow strides out of the room. While outside, she took deep breaths to calm herself down. She needed to talk to someone soon, she was on the verge of breakdown. Her phone beeped and she checked her lock screen, it was from Gavin, ‘How did the meeting go baby? Handled it well?
