See him for Punishment

Astrid Physically, I was healing, but emotionally, I felt as though the betrayal had occurred just yesterday, even though more than a week had passed. I stared blankly at the food before me, my fork leisurely poking at the meat on my plate. “You should eat, Astrid. You need to stay healthy,” Luna Henna said from across the table. I offered her a weak smile, picked up a piece of meat, and forced it down. “Eat up and get to training. We don’t tolerate lateness here,” Soren added, raising an eyebrow at me as he took a sip of water. I gave him a tight-lipped smile and began to shovel the food into my mouth. I didn’t know how I would ever repay them for their kindness. Even though Soren was starting to get irked by the way he spoke, I was still grateful that he brought me into his pack and had been taking good care of me, even after the lies they didn't know about. What would become of me if they ever discovered the truth? What would Soren do when he learned just how much I

She killed Someone!

Astrid "What?" I blinked, stepping back and looking up at the intimidating figure. "I said strip. Go naked and show me what you have between those legs you didn't want to spread." I glanced around the room, thinking he must be talking to someone else or perhaps making a sick joke. "I acknowledge that I was late. And I was asked to come here for my punishment." My fists clenched. My eyes locked onto the man behind the chair. How dare he demand this of me? "And that's your punishment. A couple of rounds wouldn't hurt, and nobody has to hear about it." I couldn't possibly stand here for this rubbish. Was this his standard punishment for lateness, or was it just me because I was an outsider? "I would not," I spat out and moved towards the door. However, he caught up to me before my hand could reach the handle. His arm snaked around my waist as he shoved me back. His large hands lifted my feet off the ground. My teeth sank into the flesh of his hand. "Grazer!" he exclaimed

Summoned for Killing

Astrid I nodded my thanks to Doctor Benedatte and stood to leave. The climb up the stone stairs to the castle didn’t take long. I stopped at the archway entrance, noticing the white-haired girl from the training grounds standing there, arms crossed over her chest. She raised an eyebrow at me as I approached. “Spread those damn legs and get it over with, and here you were acting all tough.” She tossed her braids behind her and walked ahead of me. I should have just spread my legs. Was that a common occurrence here? Did people just offer themselves whenever they pleased? If you did something wrong, was spreading your legs a sign of punishment? Was that some kind of barbaric custom? Did Soren know this was happening in his pack, or was he an accomplice to this crime? Given that he didn’t have a mate and slept with whomever he desired, including the girl now leading me inside, how depraved were he and his pack members? Had Amon already twisted the story, and they were all conspi

Soren. The suspicion had been there, a nagging feeling I hadn't acted on due to a lack of concrete evidence. I wasn't one to jump to conclusions without proof; the truth was all I ever needed. Lies were a bitter pill I simply couldn't swallow. Every member of my pack, under my protection, deserved to feel safe, regardless of their past or origin. This woman, badly injured, had sought refuge in my pack, asking only for a chance to heal. Yet, I had criminals within my pack who acted as they pleased? No one was above the rules of this pack. Equality and respect were not privileges, but rights. Still, she should have confided in me. My men and I stood at the pack entrance, watching Amon's black truck disappear down the hill. He was damn lucky that he had been with them for the longest time, else his head would have been on a spike now and fire on his body. "Did you all know this was happening?" I demanded, my gaze fixed on Dario and Neo, those I believed to be closest to Amon. "W

Do you mine helping me?

Soren. If Oberyn thought he could feed me nonsense just because we had a business arrangement, he had another thing coming. We had a three-year deal, and I was fairly certain we were still in the third quarter. How dare he send me a letter stating he would terminate our contract in the next two months? The hooves of my horse thumped on the cobblestone stone road. We halted at Myran Hill. The Dark Circus Pack came into view below the valley. From this viewpoint, the reflection of the pale sky shimmered on the water surrounding the pack. It was called Islandis, the largest water body in the whole of South and in Veridian. I could easily dismantle the pack for attempting to breach our contract, but again, I wasn't a man driven by rash actions. I needed to understand the reason behind the abrupt message. I began to descend down the hill. The wind picked up, whipping my hair back. The trees swayed from side to side, and birds soared across the clear sky. "Are you sure you

I will be your new trainer

Astrid. I should have refused. I should have denied being his doctor. Yet, I allowed him to take my hand and lead me to his room. It was spacious, with a pristine white interior. A large king-sized bed, draped in a white bedspread. The bed had over eight pillows on it. Behind me was a vast glass window, not the sliding kind, but one that was bolted shut. Outside, not far on the hill, stood the castle—a castle I had been to, one that had almost broken me. And just below it lay the loch. The view from his room, from his window, was spectacular. The wind whiffed into the room, and the few strands of hair Willa had left loose framing my face flew to the back. I turned slowly, my eyes unable to settle on one spot as they roamed the room. The brown linoleum floor felt smooth beneath my feet. Across from the bed was a large flat-screen TV and a white fluffy couch adorned with pillows, much like the one in my room, though mine was brown. My gaze drifted to the left, but I quickly l

Astrid The next day, I arrived at the Glacier before half of the other trainers. I waited in the shed for Soren, noticing the absence of Amon's usual companions. I settled onto one of the benches, the silence stretching as thirty minutes passed without any sign of him. Despite the unease, I couldn't bring myself to leave. Interaction with the other trainees felt impossible under their less friendly gazes. Willa wasn't in the horse ranch as well. Restlessness gnawed at me as I paced in the shade. "Been waiting a long, Aye?" A deep baritone voice whispered impossibly close to my neck, sending a jolt through me. I could feel his breath right close to me. Without turning, I knew it was him. "Follow me," his voice commanded, deep and stern. I trailed silently behind him. We walked past the area where Amon and I had trained, a wave of nausea rising in my throat that I forcefully suppressed. We continued down the path, the same one where I'd seen Willa riding her horse that

Do not talk to my Alpha in that manner

Astrid My heart slammed against my ribs, the sound echoing in my ears, my brain, surging through my lungs and every part of me. I stood frozen, my hands still in his hold above my head, held in his grasp like a prisoner awaiting interrogation. His pink tongue flicked out, the tip tracing his bottom lip in a slow, deliberate motion. I swallowed hard, my mouth suddenly dry. For a fleeting moment, an undeniable pull drew me towards him. I craved the heat of his body pressed against mine, the sensation of being possessed, just as he had with that white-hipped girl. As if my body had a mind of its own to take what it wanted, I inched forward. My tongue darted out, swiping across his cold thumb that was against my lower lip. My eyes flickered to his. The raw emotions I had glimpsed in his gaze before now surfaced with startling hunger, desire, lust. But they vanished as quickly as they appeared. His eyes narrowed, his lips parted slightly. 'Quite a show,' Edna's mocking voic

He is fighting inner battles.

Astrid "Don't go to a place and look for trouble if you don't have anything backing you up. And if you get into trouble, act like nothing happened." Those words burned so badly in my head that I desperately wanted to ruin something, to break something, but I knew I couldn't. I was a stranger, and if anything, I would be condemned for trying to fight back. She had slapped me, and every one of them watched without so much as a word. Soren didn't stop her or say anything. He watched me leave the field with my hand pressed against my burning cheek. His slut slapped me because I had spoken to him about the tone he had used on me. I pulled the black band from my head and tightened my hair into a high ponytail. My wolf and I hadn't gone for a run in a long while; however, I had been taking runs by myself. No one could uncover my identity by identifying my wolf. Most of Veridian knew the Emberclaw Luna with her big brown wolf that had dark patches of black around her. Some people tho

Let's go home

Astrid I didn't have the kind of clothes for clubbing, so Willa had volunteered to give me one of hers. A red bodycon gown with tiny straps. It had a V-neck and a small gap around the waist, giving a little glimpse of my stomach. It was knee-length with a small split at the hem. She let down my hair and applied a little makeup to my face. I knew I looked a bit slutty, but I couldn't help wanting to feel that way for one night. Jarvis and I had been to a few clubs at the pack when we had just gotten together. I hadn't attended any club after he left for Raven pack. I didn't see a reason to go to a club without him and have those young pack members ogling at me like I was a piece of candy ready to be eaten. None of them would dare look at their Luna in that manner, but I knew how much self-respect I had, and I had to protect that because I had a partner I was waiting for. That was the level of loyalty I had for Jarvis, and what did he do? He shoved it right back in my face.
