(TODD’S POV) I had not even been given the chance to breathe properly after just having the best night of my life. My mum, for one, was here already, in my face before I even got the chance to count to ten. She was standing by the door of the stairs as if she was waiting for me to show up. She was dressed in casual jeans, a regular T-shirt, and her hair was spun into a messy bun on her head. She did not look the least bit pleased to see me; in fact, she looked angry, and I think it made things easier for me because then I did not have to pretend.
