Owen led me out with his arm wrapped firmly around my waist and my hip tucked into his large palm. We made it to the truck and he opened my door before wrapping his arms around me and lifting me up and setting me on the passenger seat like I weigh nothing at all.Then, he held me without saying a word. He buried his head in my neck and just leaned into me, breathing slowly in and out. I clung to him, too with my eyes closed, just letting him have this moment to get himself together so that we could drive home.He didn't look at me as he raised back up and snapped my seat belt into place. He still didn’t spare a glance as he climbed in on his own side and secured his own belt. Moonlit Mirage

“You have to face this,” I told myself as we trudged up the hill, that brick building looming in the distance. Just like the last time I was here, it was a beacon of light clouded by complete darkness around and behind it. Why had I agreed to this? When had I agreed to this? Nightmares

Owen POVI hadn’t been able to sleep most of the night. When we first laid down and I pulled her in my arms, exhaustion took over almost immediately so I fell asleep fairly quickly but staying asleep was out of the question.The first nightmare happened just forty-five minutes into sleep, at least according to my phone. That one had Aurora in another man’s arms, a man that looked too familiar. A man that looked a little too much like Phillip Clark. Mother's Wisdom

“What!?” My mother exclaimed on the other end of the phone, her voice raised excitedly.“There will be a press conference this morning to make it public and I wanted you to know firsthand from me before that happens.”“What in the world happened? Finding a New Normal
