The hall went into a silent uproar. Guests murmured, whispering their doubts into each other's ears whilst giving the puzzled and infuriated Irina a few side glances. Jason stood off, his eyes settled solely on the screen with a livid expression. Bright camera flashes filled the hall, reporters scrambling to get the best view of the situation. Each wanting a piece of the new gist - guests stepped aside, expressions varying from sheer disgust to perplexion." Turn it off!!. Turn this thing off right now!!." - Irina paced around anxiously, trying to figure things out admist the chaos.Picking up the hem of my dress, i walked up the small flight of stairs with a black box and a card in my hand. Feeling the heat of everyone's gaze, possibly wondering how i could just pop up in such a disastrous situation. Well, it wasn't like i was fated for the best scenarios."Jason, i can explain..... this..... this has got to be a sincere misunderstanding." - Irina approached Jason's dazed figure w

"Blackmail." She narrowed her eyes, "What did you just say?!" "Pfffftt!!" - I hunched over, hitting my knees as i laughed out loudly. Rachel stood by the side, throwing me a nasty look. "What's so funny about what I'd said?." - She hands on her waist, feeling slightly disappointed with my response. "I'm sorry *laugh*. I couldn't help it tho." - I heaved, taking deep breaths as i tried controlling my laughter. "Selene, you're acting strange." - She adjusted her glasses, taking a better look at me. "It almost feels like you're hiding something from me, which is absolutely unlike you." I calmed down a bit, listening to the seriousness in her breezy tone. She was right, i was really acting strange - that was undeniable. "And so are you?" - I threw the question back at her, watching as her face twisted into a playful scowl. "Now what the hell was that?" - She pulled open the doors to the meeting hall, her hips swinging beneath her skirt as she made way for me to come in. "At first

The reporters scrambled around, pointing their microphones directly to Irina's lips like as if wanting her to once again confirm what she had just said. This action prompted her bodyguards to jump in, forming a human barricade against the raving journalists. Irina stood behind the guards with a proud smile etched onto her face as she watched the reporters struggle hard just to have a word with her. Her eyes glistened with satisfaction - She had them where she wanted them to be. And now their attention were solely on her, with the intentions being much different than the former. "Tsk tsk tsk, which kind of a mother uses her unborn child as a distraction just to whitewash her image in public?. So pretentious!!!."" Yeah, I find her very repulsive. Always flaunting her powers and belittling the weak, then when she throws in a few thousand dollars. She gets praised for being generous and kind." " Have you heard what her minions have been doing online lately?. Physically and verbally

I sat at the back of the car, holding on to Dean, unsure of what to do - or even, how to go about this whole sudden turn of events. "Mom, is Dad going to be back soon?. He has been gone for long now." - Dean raised his head, his blonde curls falling down his petite face. He had his backpack resting on his lap and seemed engrossed with his lego toys.I smiled gently, stroking his head while nodding mine. How was i supposed to tell the kid that his father was possibly engaged in a physical brawl with someone else at the moment?.It didn't sound like an appropriate answer to give to a nine year old.I parted my lips, trying to seize the moment to reassure the kid when i heard the door on the driver side open before slamming shut.I raised my head, my eyes lingering on the dashboard. Richard raised his, our eyes locking for a moment before he averted his gaze. I frowned, but kept my peace. The rest of the drive home was done in silence, asides Dean who was constantly toying with his puzz

"I'm glad you made it on time." Marceline rushed up to me, placing a disposable umbrella in my hands. "Thanks." - I took the umbrella, my hands soaked from the drizzling rain. "What's the update?." Marceline raised her eyes, shaking her head repeatedly. " She just got here, so far........ there's been nothing. I think they're still sorting things out." I parted my lips slightly, raising my head to see the dark crest fallen skies. It looked dull and the slow yet persistent rain only intensified the feeling of impending gloom even more. "I think it's best if you stayed here at the exit........to help keep an eye out for any vehicle that might leave this premises." - I spoke in a breath. "So....... i don't get to accompany you in?." - She walked two steps closer to where i stood, her eyes shimmered, clearly due to excitement. "No." She backed away, a look of disappointment flashing through her childish features as she smiled sadly. "Okay, I'll be on the lookout and i
