CAGED WINGSLEXI’S POVI watched Sophia caress Wayne’s head with a sinking feeling in my chest.I hated it.Every second of it. Watching the satisfied smirk on her face at seeing my crest fallen expression.I just wanted to wipe that smirk off, but I couldn’t, because for the first time I realized how deep her claws were in Wayne. She had probably been manipulating him to hate me since I left. No wonder he hated me so much. What was I going to say to him that could change his mind now? Glaring at her, I turned and walked back into the room, banging the door shut.Dexter was sitting up, with a small smile on his face. “I am so happy I have a twin brother mom,” he said. “Wayne is so cool, I can’t wait for Jax and Nia to meet him.”The mention of Wayne made me frown. I should have never come back here. I should have figured out a way to destroy the hex without having Dexter and Wayne meet.Wayne would never want to leave this pack now, not with his bond with his father and how much S

BIRDS OF A FEATHERLEXI’S POVClara gave me a look over, not even seeming shocked to see me. “I heard you were back, I didn’t think you still exhibited these rogue qualities,” she replied spitefully, standing up to face me.The last time I saw Clara was eleven years ago, after my marriage to Manny, so seeing her back here again made me uneasy. I thought she was living in another pack, why was she back and seemingly so close to my son? “I asked you a question,” I said, stepping into the room, feeling my voice shake with barely restrained anger. “What the hell do you think you are doing with my son? Wayne stared up at me, clearly startled by my sudden outburst.Clara walked closer to me, not even regarding me as a threat.“What does it look like?” she asked, raising an arm as Wayne came to lean on her side. “I am spending time with Wayne, is that a crime now?”My eyes narrowed suspiciously as I regarded her. She had probably joined Sophia to poison my son's mind against me and I did

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORMLEXI’S POVPlanning to escape this house seemed harder and harder the more I thought about it.Every time I thought I had found an opening, something appeared in the way.I thought I would be able to get a maid to bribe so she could help sneak me out of here, but it was like every maid was avoiding me somehow, even the ones that had known me from back when Luna completely ignored me.The Luna Ceremony was tonight and it was supposed to be my best opportunity to leave, but with the amount of guards and maids that trooped into the pack house, I was sure I would not get the chance.I still had no way of convincing Wayne to come with me and Dexter. I had no idea what Manny's schedule was looking like. All I had right now was ambition and that wasn't enough. So that afternoon, I did something different.I grabbed Dexter’s hand and led him out with me.“Where are we going mum?” he asked, looking confused. Since we had started staying in this house, I had never all

SILENCE AND SECRETSLEXI’S POVI barely slept that night.I stayed awake, looking out the window, waiting for something, anything.I wanted Manny to knock and tell me that my confinement was over, to tell me that he was wrong and that I could go back to Dexter. But that didn’t happen.Instead, the knock that woke me up that morning was from a maid. “Good Morning Madam,” she called out. “ I am coming in with your breakfast.” I didn’t reply as I sat up on the bed, turning towards the door as the maid walked in with a tray of food. She dropped it on the bedside table, pouring a glass of orange juice and handing it to me with a pleasant smile on her face.I collected the glass, trying not to scoff. Manny could have his servants bring me breakfast in bed, filled with the most delicious looking dishes, but allowing me to see my son was too difficult. All of a sudden, I was a ‘bad influence’ on the child I had raised for seven years? He really believed that his mother that had always voc

THE TRUCELEXI’S POVI sat in silence long after I woke up the next morning, still thinking of Manny’s words from last night.I’ll consider it. It wasn’t a yes or a no but it was the closest thing I had to hope in daysI wanted to believe him. I needed to believe him at least for Dexter’s sake and for Wayne, but most of all for me, because if I continued to stay locked in here without anything to look up to, I wasn’t sure what would be left of me when the door finally opened.A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and I leapt off the bed, rushing to the door anxiously. “Who is it?” I asked, stepping back from the door. I probably shouldn’t seem too eager if it was Manny? “It is the maid from yesterday,” a female voice replied and I frowned. The maid from yesterday? The door unlocked and the maid stepped in with a small smile. “Alpha Manny said I should bring the boys to have breakfast with you,” she said and my heart bubbled in excitement as a long breakfast tray was brought i
