NADIADinner felt heavy without him. I kept glancing at Luca's side of the table, waiting for him to magically appear like a wizard. But no, it was empty and I was dying in silence. It was all my fault. Before I could blame Miralyn for controlling me and my sexual urges but what about now? I had not only disappointed him but I had kissed Ares.Could this day get any worse?“Honey, aren't you hungry?” Mom asked, snapping me out of my self discussion.“Yeah, I am. I'm just…erm…never mind,” I said and picked up a fork. She didn't pry and I was happy about that. Arnold sat at the head table as usual, and Mom sat beside him. Ares sat across from me, watching my every move and it kind of pissed me off.Lucia was seated next to him, battling her long lashes. They seemed to keep getting longer and weirder every day.Sliding a fork of omelette in my mouth, I caught Lucia's eyes glaring at me. Whatever she had going on in her mind was her business. She did it again, and I figured she was on som

NADIA“Uhhh,” my moan clouded my thoughts as his hands roamed up my shirt. I wanted this. I needed it. I had missed him. When he pulled away from the kiss, I felt frustrated and reached to him, pulling his face down to mine.My head was spinning and my lips swollen but I wanted him more. He pulled away again, and cupped my face in his hands.“Nadia, I don't think we should….”“Shhh,” I cut him off and kissed him, my hands circling around his neck. I was done talking. My clit throbbed under my panties and I felt my wetness spread, ready for him. He always had that effect on me.“Hold on,&

ARESThe second knock was louder. I wasn't worried. It was probably the maid who wanted to clean the room or call him for breakfast.Luca was always the first among everyone to get out of bed. I reached for the handle and was about to pull when I got the sudden shock feeling and turned to look at Luca.He didn't look pleased. It was far from it. More like a mixture of surprise and unease. His eyes were fixed on the door and I halted, retracting my hand.“Who is it?” I mouthed. He mouthed back. “Dad.”The word hit me like a flash and I froze with my eyes wide open. Hell no! What was he doing here?

NADIA“This can’t be happening,” I muttered, the pen spinning around in my hand. The classroom was a mess with everyone talking and Professor Kellar’s droning voice reflecting around the cream-colored walls, and the odd cough from someone pretending not to be dead. And me? I wasn’t even pretending anymore. My notebook was open, but instead of taking notes, I was doodling little spirals and lopsided stars. My mind wasn’t here. Not even close.I sank my teeth into the edge of my pen cap, looking through the window at the brilliant, cloudless afternoon. It was a warm one, and the filtered sun felt like it was taunting me, how I stood inside this cage with my mind swimming elsewhere.

NADIAI heard him chuckle and he lifted his face. “Don't worry, it's nothing bad.”Everything sounded terrible. I had doubted Lyra and now it was here slapping me in the face.“Sounds fair, doesn't it?” He asked. I breathed in and gently exhaled.Who the hell did he think he was? He was acting all macho in front of me. Did he really think this scared me?“I think I changed my mind. You sound like a creep,” I breathed and his smile dropped.I tried to leave but he blocked me. “That was a joke. You don’t have to run off that fast.”My respo
