“I immediately requested that the high council tribunal go over your case citing that making an example out of a minor child was cruel and inappropriate punishment. Four days later, a week after your attack I was conferencing with them. At first they were steadfast on the adult level of punishment. The only difference would be the use of a delta not an alpha. The only thing they agreed with was it needing to be a private not public punishment. It took multiple conferences to convince two of them that it would equate to torture to heavily sedate you for the three hour car ride, drop you off in an unknown place not knowing if the proper medical monitoring would be available or followed through with just for you to receive your punishment without emotional support before being dumped back into solitary confinement until your time was up and the same had to happen to get you home. I do believe that Declan’s persistence that reeducation was needed not physical punishment that finished tha

Saturday, October 8th, 2017(Damian’s POV)It’s been ten weeks since Parker, Patrick and I learned the truth behind the desperation that those fleeing Blue Ridge are experiencing. I’ve had a difficult time accepting the fact that the pack alpha, Alrik, is purposely killing members to create orphans for the sole purpose of being slaves. Despite my wolf’s protest, I have sworn an oath to dad to not only stop attacking them but to help them once they are on our land. I was under the impression that things would move quickly, that we would start finding the families the very next week but none ever came. Declan has gone silent which has my father worried. I’ve prodded him several times before he pulled me into his office and had a private meeting. It was intense to say the least as my anxiety just wouldn’t let go of the belief that I had been disrespectful and deserving of punishment. Dad’s patience paid off. While he addressed the disrespect he assured me that the meeting wasn’t about p

Our connection is so strong I keep an air mattress blown up in my room so when her own terror rears its ugly head she has a place she feels is safe for her to sleep. She feels safe with me and only me despite the care dad and Dr. Pierce gave her. I’m begging her to date me but with her being twenty and I just turned seventeen she says it’s inappropriate. I argue that she’s sleeping in my room but her separate beds and fully clothed arguments tends to win. It’s only as I start coming out of my most recent events that I realize that I’m crying; no, I’m bawling. Dad silently sways me side to side as I lose control of the emotions I believed should be bottled up, rubbing my back gently across my shoulders. He doesn’t stop until I calm myself. “I’m sorry, dad. I should be stronger than this.” “Don’t be Day. This is one of the biggest events of your life. One that every werewolf goes through and you have the added pressure of being my first born. I have made a lot of changes over the ye

The ten minute soak was more relaxing than I expected and jumping into the shower immediately after to wash the salts off was refreshing. I step out of the shower quickly to find that the annoyance I had with the rubber grated mats recently put down on the floor has vanished. Somehow I moved too quickly when stepping out of the stall and nearly fell in the one foot space between the shower and the mat. “Careful there. These mats haven’t solved everything.” Dad reminds me after I’ve already recovered. I smile weakly but remain silent as I dry myself. Our talk in the tub has relaxed me enough that I’m excited. Still nervous yet excited. I dress in the items left out for me, surprised to find that the robe has been slightly heated, providing me with a comforting warmth that I wasn’t expecting. I look up as I feel dad’s hands on the collar of my robe. “As nerve racking as this is, try to relax and enjoy yourself. This is a celebration of your entry into the next stage of your life. It

I walk with dad up the metal, grated stairs. I’m on high alert as I step upon the backside of the stage as Amelia’s information has created a mix of emotions I wasn’t prepared for. I’m excited to get the rest of my linking ability and to show those outside of my patrol team my wolf as most have never seen him but I’m also scared of the fact that the first half of this process resulted in a painful side effect. Unlike most werewolves I have yet to develop the higher pain tolerance that others have spoken of as the mid level gammas seem to be the least affected by this ceremony. Dad guides me to a young man, not much older than myself, before using the link telling me to stay. He slips away silently allowing Amelia to approach me from behind. “Damian, this is Allanon the apprentice that has been working with me for the last several months. Allan hails from an old Druid clan an hour from my own. He was the inspiration for creating this very special coming of age ceremony for you.” I r
