Lahat ng Kabanata ng A Nurse for the Mafia Don : Kabanata 41 - Kabanata 50

Grace's Pov “Noah,” I said as he moved closer to us now. “What did you just say?” Noah asked Silvano, who looked unbothered at the tension between us. “I said I am Grace's boyfriend,” he repeated and I almost palmed my face. Why would he tell such a lie? We aren't even friends, let alone being in a relationship together.“No you are not,” I said, silently begging him to go with my eyes.“You don't have to be shy now, babe. I think it is time they know,”Babe? What the hell is he spilling out of his mouth?I don't know what game he is playing but he better stop it now. Until it gets difficult to get out of. “Why would you say that?” I asked Silvano, my eyes moving to Noah who just stood glaring at Silvano.Silvano wasn't bothered; his face was calm, and he gave me a side glance. “Because I am.”My mom blinked between the two of us, clearly confused. “Grace? You didn’t tell me you had a boyfriend.”“Because I don’t.”“So what’s really going on here?” Noah asked.“Yeah, what is goin

Grace's povI froze, my thoughts spinning like a storm. I didn’t realize how long I had been standing there, carrot in one hand, peeler in the other, and my Mum staring at me with a knowing smile. “If you do, then I trust you.” She said and moved over to take a pot.“I do.” I barely heard her as the words still echoed in my head, like I wasn't the one who said it. Like someone else had spoken them through my lips. But I meant them. I trusted him. And I hated it.I placed the carrot down and went to the sink to wash my hands. I wiped my hands on a towel, suddenly needing air. The kitchen felt smaller now and I wanted to leave. “I will check on Silvano,” I said to Mum, who only nodded as her eyes were focused on the simmering pot like she hadn’t just peeled another layer of truth from me moments ago.I felt the kitchen and as I stepped into the living room, I saw Noah and Silvano talking. From where I was looking at them, Noah seemed to be giving Silvano a hard time. Instead of stepp

Grace's PovAT GRACE'S HOME Mum was setting the table, making sure everything was in place, and Soph was helping her. She didn't allow me to help her, saying she was welcoming me back to the house. Well, who was I not to take the special treatment? While they were preparing, I opened my bag and took out everything in it. I cleaned the bag and hung it in my room. I switched on my phone and a lot of messages flooded in. Thinking of dealing with that later, I dropped my phone on the bed. I went to get dressed for dinner and made sure I was looking sweet.Well, a part of me kept saying I was looking forward to seeing Silvano, and that was why I was dressing up, but I told myself I just wanted to feel good and look good.If I were looking forward to looking good for Silvano, then it would be because tonight would be the last time I would see him. Last impression lasts longer, right?I know it is a first impression, but that is by the way.Just when I left my room and got to the livin

Grace's Pov His nose grazed mine, slow and soft, making my breath hitch and his forehead touched mine. I felt his chest rise and fall against mine, his scent wrapping around me like a spell.I felt his fingers gently tilt my chin up.And then his phone blared loudly between us, slicing through the moment like a knife. At first, he didn't move, he just stayed there, his eyes closed and his forehead still pressed to mine.He groaned quietly. “I swear, if that is not someone dying, they are going to wish they were.”I bit my bottom lip, grinning despite myself, as he reluctantly pulled away and fished the phone from his pocket. He checked the caller ID and sighed, his jaw tightening just slightly before he answered.“Yeah?” His voice was clipped and serious now.I watched him as he listened to the person on the call, his expression changing to an unreadable one as he listened.“Understood. I will be there,” he said, finally, and ended the call.He looked at me, the softness in his featu

Grace's povI waited a few seconds after he closed the door before I finally got out of bed, brushing my hair back while muttering to myself like a crazy person. “You talk in your sleep,” I mimicked, rolling my eyes. “Just take me out of this world.” I groaned to myself.I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then I left my room and headed to the kitchen. The smell of coffee reached my nose before I even stepped into the kitchen.I needed that. I entered the kitchen and saw him.He was leaning casually against the counter with a mug in his hand like a walking Calvin Klein ad who just happened to make coffee in my house. Not my house though.“Morning, sunshine,” he said, his voice annoyingly calm.“I am not speaking to you,” I replied, walking past him and grabbing a mug.“You will,” he said.I poured myself coffee, refusing to look at him. “You are enjoying this way too much.”“I am,” he agreed shamelessly.I sipped my coffee, still facing away from him. “Silvano.”“Yes?”“Wha
