MATED TO THE ALPHA TWINS のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 51 - チャプター 60

KARLA'S POV When I woke up this morning, it was with a deep emptiness in my stomach, like an ache that would never be filled. A deep void that would never be filled. My wolf whimpered, and I did with it. The sound, however low, was enough to wake Ace.It was a surprise that he was still in the bed with me. He was notorious for waking up in the small hours of the morning. "Baby, what's wrong?" He reached for the bedside light. "Are you hurt anywhere? Are you in pain?""Ace, why are you still in bed?" I whispered. I would very much like to be alone to tend to the void in my heart, but I couldn't just kick him out of bed. "You don't have to work?""No, baby, not yet. It's still three in the morning. Tell me, what's wrong?""I can't breathe." I tried to explain. "Not like my lungs are closing. More like it's not enough. There's this ache in my chest that's not going away. I don't know what's wrong with me.""Sit up, baby." He urged and placed multiple pillows behind me so I could rest m

KARLA'S POV My fondest memory was when I was sixteen. It was that age when all the girls my age were having sweet sixteen birthdays and were getting ponies, fake or not, from their families. I had been invited to a couple out of pity. I even got invited to one because my brother, Lucien, was friends with the birthday girl's older sister. Of course, I had started my training then, and I wasn't doing so well in the breast department. In fact, it seemed like I was the only girl that was still wearing training bras. I had muscles instead, like the boys, and I wore pants instead of cute skirts and tops. Of course, the boys ignored me, and the girls didn't want to be friends with the girl that had muscles instead of breasts. I tried to act nonchalant and uncaring, but I really wanted a sweet sixteen too, and I didn't know how I was going to tell my parents. I was really depressed, and I think Mother noticed how withdrawn I was getting. Her first guess was that it was a boy, hence her adv

THIRD PERSON'S POVAce had made up his mind. The moment he stepped back into his old pack, his entire existence knew he was home. This was where he grew up, and this was where he learned everything he knew about leading a pack. It was this pack he had been dreaming of leading. He was close to achieving that dream too until his twin brother swooped in and ruined everything. He was not pained that he was not Alpha, he already knew what it felt like, but he had yet to experience being Alpha of the pack he trained for all his life.He would not give him a second chance to stop him from his dreams. He looked up at the high walls of the pack's mansion, and he immediately knew that he wanted to come back home. He didn't share his sentiments with Karla, knowing that there was a lot on her mind that didn't have anything to do with him. Her main priority was saving her family members. Nevertheless, he knew it was time, and he also knew what he was going to do. He was going to challenge Aiden.I

THIRD PERSON'S POV Karla was about to tell Aiden to let her father talk to her when she realized that he said yes. She was so used to him being a difficult person. His easy yes should have been a red flag to her, but she was too anxious to think about anything else. She just wanted to get her family out of here, at any cost.It was that Ace found it odd and interesting that Aiden would allow Karla and her father to go talk outside. His twin brother was not a sentimental person. If anything, he would want to know what they were talking about. Karla was filled with anxiety. What could her father possibly want to talk about with her? Maybe she was finally going to hear the words she had been dying to hear all these years? That he was happy to see her well and alive? That he was proud of her?Except none of that was going to happen because this scene was one that had already been planned by Aiden and Richard, her father. After they spent the night in the dungeon, Aiden sent for Richard

ACE'S POV While Karla's father limped out after her, I kept my eyes on them, but there was only so much I could do. I didn't have a good feeling about the two of them together. Something wasn't right, and Aiden was not the type of person that would allow a father and daughter to have their last moments together. The door shut behind them, and their footsteps faded until we could no longer hear them. Karla's father was also not sentimental. I couldn't itch away the feeling that something was wrong with the scene that just unfolded before my eyes. According to Karla, and based on what I've seen myself, Richard was not very fond of his only daughter. He didn't even look for her when she was missing or dead, and now that she was back, he suddenly had something to say to her. Before I could overthink the situation, Anita spoke up, and I glared at her. "Ace, you never thought you would see me again, did you?" She purred. I wish I could say I thought so, but I knew that one way or the other
