32  For the coming few days, Vera kept her anger and frustration aside and did her best to pacify her son. She ignored his insults, bad language and pushes. His behavior had turned more violent towards her. But to bring him back to his senses, she swallowed all his insults and still spoke to him gently.    However, Tory always hovered behind him like a dark cloud. Always ready to whisper wrong things to him should he soften towards his mother.    If Vera offered Alex to play outdoor games, Tory suggested they play video games instead because days were getting colder. If she made food for him, Tory provoked him to want junk food outside. If she chose clothes for him to wear that day, Tory made a face and made him change into clothes of her choice just after she left Alex's room.
