Ayla's pov“I just think your boyfriend's too uptight" Ivy relaxed on the couch. "Shouldn't he be?” I crossed my arms "I mean, he is right to some point"“Hey, you were here when Aiden left for groceries," Clara added. “And let's all hope he's fine right now" she resorted, calmly. We all waited for Killian, he normally cared less about his phone, so finding where he had put it was going to take forever. A small silence reigned over us for seconds before Tessa's voice, a voice that hadn't been heard since she came out filled the room. Readjusting to the fact the Aiden was a wolf hunter must have needed her to ponder for more than an hour. “Is it true, what you said?" I turned to her direction but she was looking at Ivy. “That the witch you lost your powers to is the same one you trapped" Obviously, not what was said but I could presume Tessa was only trying to understand the situation, given her calm state. "An ancient witch doesn't lose her powers" Ivy resorted. “Then you're l

Ayla's pov When I was against the wall, unable to move or speak, trying to claw my way out of his invincible grip. I watched Kallum. The striking resemblance to Killian. How easily it was for him to kill. The main reason why I didn't understand why he just grazed Aiden. The ringing in my head, my unsteadied heart beat, the way the world spun before my eyes. I struggled to catch my breath, struggled to lift the bones of my fingers, I struggled to do pretty much everything the second I collapsed to the ground, after Kallum's power stopped choking me. And now. One second I was against the wall. The next I was on the floor in Killian's hands, then I looked past his shoulder to see Aiden, laying in the puddle of his own blood. Could I call it blood though? it was thick, black and nothing at all like human blood. I feared for his life the same way I had feared for mine minutes ago. When Killian mustered up the strength to lift him and I to run to ivy. I watched as Killian ca

Third person's povKallum materialized an old warehouse down a street, one that was not in use and obviously out of sight. He collapsed against the walls the second he got there, he needed energy, powers, anything that could help him regain himself but then again, there weren't any humans again. It was as though with each visit they paid to Ayla and with each fight she won, something was taken from them. Or rather taken from the Darkforce. As expected, Kallum couldn't feel the Darkforce any longer, it was as though he slipped out but he could still hear him in his head. Kallum's breathing ragged and to him the warehouse was pinning like it was on top of a merry-go-round. Ayla hugged deeper than the last, though he managed to overpower her, it was merely because she got distracted and if she hadn't. They both would have died.Kallum stayed still till the Darkforce creeped back into his body, coiling around him once again. It seeped into his wounds and even though it healed, the p

Ayla's povKillian's bruises healed almost immediately after he was attacked, they were neither black nor necrosis like ivy described Aiden's. I spent last night drinking vodka to calm myself, though it had little or no effect, the burn in my chest helped me keep my eyes open till Killian came to coax me back to sleep. I woke up before Killian still, I wanted to be the first to hear of the aftermath of Aiden's predicament, I didn't want to be asleep when it was confirmed that he didn't make it through the night. I got to his room and opened the door slowly to find Ivy roaming around the room. I exhaled lightly, the room smelled of dried herbs and candle wax. I didn't look up to see Ivy. Instead I stepped closer towards Aiden's body. The black veins that once crawled up his throat had receded to faint, spider thin lines beneath his collarbone. The wound festered but now, now it had stopped, I noticed his breathing and it seemed steady, that was when I turned to Ivy who was busy p

Ayla's pov Two days. If I was counting properly. Since Tessa was the least suspected, I sent her back to my house to fetch as many books as she could carry and while Clara spent time in her room and Tessa running errands for me, Ivy lying to Aiden and leading him into a deep slumber through potions and Killain, testing his strength outside the house. Maybe. I was up in the attic, though it was clean the first day I came up here,I doubted Aiden ever came here, this place hides from everything and everywhere. I knew because I had been here for two days, reading. Learning. Amongst the trunk full of books Tessa had gotten for me I had been reading about witches and wolves. nothing new. Today I rummaged through the trunk and pulled out the thickest, black leather cover and the title unlike the rest. ‘Chronicles of the Abyssal eater’ Though it was in faded silver letters, I could see it perfectly. I took the book over towards the desk I had been sitting on and opened it. I could
