Chapter One-Hundred Sixty One: Nyx

Ayla's pov. Ivy took out the bodies and burnt them before evening could settle in. She confirmed that those were rogue wolves who had been sent away from the pack but still claimed they belonged to blood moon packProbably to avoid people hunting them down. Ironic how people who tried avoiding getting hunted down died with a flick of someone's fingers. When Ivy came back from disposing of the bodies, we ate the stew that had been on the fire, though it wasn't anything like beef stew, I presumed it was a different kind of beef, a rabbit or a deer but still, it served. Not long after, night fell and we settled in to sleep, I made ivy promise that by break of dawn, we had left for somewhere else. If those were rogues posing as members of Blood moon pack then we still had miles ahead of us. I wasn't sure though, of how I was going to keep up when the time I had to sleep, I spent it sitting on the floor with my back against the wall. I found this position better than the bed those

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Two: Little orphan.

Ayla's pov. I woke up after five hours, though my head felt like it would split open after days of having little or no sleep. I was more worried about how fast we needed to get out of here. I had woken up countless times in the middle of the night thinking the runaway man came back with more people and we would never get to reach the blood moon pack. I kept seeing those bodies and I kept thinking about the chances that they were actually still alive and came back….“Are you done with your things?" Killian suddenly asked me, interrupting my thoughts. There was no need to pack, I had only brought in a blanket, even though it had been five years since I last saw the woods I went through to get to the human world, I could still remember the cold nights I spent like it was yesterday. For some reason I decided to leave it here. I looked up at the already folded blanket and then at Killian who stood in the living room that was without boundary, connected to the bedroom. If I could cal

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Three: Kallum's acquaintance

Ayla's povBlonde hair, tied up to a pony tail. Pony tails were never her style but still. Her face was oval and her lips were now fuller. Her eyebrows well curved and that irritated look on her face each time she laid her eyes on me was still there. How could I forget Lila? She stood behind me, with what looked like guards behind her. Staring at me the same way I was staring at her. Then suddenly a small smirk played on her face and then it came back to me, Juno did say something about Lila betraying the pack and the nerve of her to try to seduce Killian after I had left. “It's really you" her voice was smooth, more feminine than I imagined. " I thought Kallum was pulling my legs when he sent me to find you” Of course she'd be friends with the enemy, I didn't picture her to become any better than she was at all. " You really haven't changed at all, have you?” She turned back to her guards and with one flick of her fingers she sent them away before turning back to me. Now w

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Four

Third person's pov BLOOD MOON EVEDown in a large dungeon where the walls were made of clay and sigils were drawn all over. Ayla came awake to pain first, not from the bruise from the knife or from when Lila held her but from the pain on her wrist from the silver chains used to the ground. There were chains on her legs too but those bound her legs to each other. As her eyes fluttered open, she felt a dull throb at her temple and tired swallow saliva after her mouth tasted of copper and dust. Ayla tried to move but that was when she realized the chains on her. She could still feel the wolfsbane in her blood streams, boiling it, making her sweaty and uncomfortable. She couldn't remember the last time she had wolfsbane in her system, four months? Six? She was so used to being immune to it that the shock of the effect made her unable to recover stably.“Killian" she muttered subconsciously, they had injected him with three times what they had given to her, she tried to focus on the

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Five: Back to where it happened.

Third person's pov Luxury and something forbidden. It was always the same vocabulary used when describing Lila's room. She liked the feminine energy, the way everything reflected her sense of taste but now something else mixed with the usual scent. Blood and poison. Killian was dragged into her chambers, she knew Kallum didn't know about him yet but he was bound to find out and before that, she planned to enjoy the moment while it lasted. By having her way. Killian was shoved into a seat when they brought him in, securing his wrist with something similar to cuffs but was most likely silver chains. She knew it would be hard to wake up immediately; she had personally gone to meet the witch who prepared the poison, urging her to use the oldest flower of them all. The impact it would have on Killian would be like no other. His limbs would weaken and so would his muscles. He wouldn't move or speak and his head would feel like it was splitting in so many places. So when he didn't

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Six: Kal'dor

Third person's pov Ivy had thought she would die from blisters under her foot, walking what felt like an endless journey only to turn around for Ayla and her mate. Nothing was more irritating than that. She struggled to keep up with Killian who wasted no time in following Ayla as she went in search of the moon necklace. But approaching the house they had left, Ivy immediately melted into the shadows of the underbrush as she caught the figure of royal guards at the small house. Her heart skipped two beats. Ayla must have been caught and Killian too. She watched from behind the trees, how they carried and headed back to where they came from. She recognized a lady with auburn hair, and she oversaw the kidnapping. Ivy could come out and save them but she didn't think she was powerful enough, having been limited to just spells and chants. So she watched, cowardly. When she was sure they had gone, ivy emerged from behind the trees cautiously, she moved smoothly back towar

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Seven:

Third person's pov Killian dragged himself down the familiar hallways of the pack house. He had taken an axe and strapped it to his back just in case.Every sense of his, straining for the scent of Ayla. She must have been with Kallum or worse, where he wanted her to be. He went through everything he could think of. Though the air around the house made him shriek. It brought back the rogue days of his. How uncontrollable he was. How every night was like reliving a nightmare he could wake up from. He focused on her scent and moved over twisted the dungeon, the wolfsbane in his blood had weared out but he could still smell it down there. Ayla had been down there. “Where is the prisoner?" He growled at one of the guards guarding the dungeon. “You, you took her out sir" “Where?" He asked. The guard looked confused but before he could process, he yelled again. “I said where?" “Out. You took her out the house, east" He turned around immediately, and followed the oath that led

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Eight: Not a wolf

Third person's pov AN HOUR TO THE BLOOD MOONIt was said in the book that the ritual for the Darkforce was to be ready and the last step was to slaughter the lunaris wolf the second the moon turned red. Ivy's guess? Kallum had taken Ayla to the Ritual circle now, it was merely four hours till the next day where the blood moon would start throughout the break of dawn and dusk. He would want to prepare her, prepare the circle so all that was left was a stab to the heart for her blood to spill. The toy seller lady had been helpful on hypnotized, though the pack house took hours to reach, she assumed the auburn lady had gotten some ride or carriages to hasten the journey. Ivy got to the pack house close to midnight and the lady helped her through the maids that worked inside. She hypnotized the guards and maids before making her way inside the house itself. There she had also learnt about his absence though it was easy to order you maids to pretend you were not in. Ivy preferred t

Chapter One-Hundred Sixty Nine: The Blood of a Hunter.

Ayla's pov One of the first things I felt against my skin was cold and there came goosebumps all around my skin afterwards. Not the gentle breeze night cold but the deep, bone seeping cold that made me feel like my bones were about to melt and my muscles were about to congeal. I tried to move but a slight pain shot through my arms immediately. This wasn't what I planned, to be more than helpless. My wrist was bound behind my back, not with ropes or chains but something that I could feel in me. Like a tightened suffocating pressure that went along with the cold. Like a spell. My eyes blinked slowly out of exhaustion from trying to escape, from talking, from even thinking. Above me, the sky stretched black and the moon was pale, like it was taking another form and another shade. Now I realized why I was so cold. I was outside, tied to one of the trees. I strained my neck to look around and that's when I saw it. A circle. Carved into the forest floor with deep, jagged markin

Chapter One-Hundred Seventy: The Twin Bond

Third person's pov Like someone who had risen from the ashes, Ayla rose up but this wasn't Ayla anymore. For the first time, Nyx didn’t need to shift before consuming Ayla. All she knew was the sudden power within her grasp and the urge to kill Kallum. Nyx stood at the center of the forest, looking far from Ayla. Her feet barely firm to the ground as her hair slowly turned white. She blinked her eyes and her silver iris burned with intensity as they stared back at Kallum who struggled to get up from the floor. Her hair moved without wind like she had finally accepted She has been fighting back all along. What she had been keeping in check all along. Her gaze narrowed towards the ritual circle that had burned out and something else broke further. She exhaled slowly, across from her Kallum pushed himself up from the ground, he rose up fully and growled at her, his eyes flickering from red to pitch black, corrupt veins running along his body. He smirked
