Ayla's POVKillian came rushing into the bathroom the second I screamed out his name. The mirror had shattered, its broken pieces littered on the bathroom floor. “What is it? What happened? Are you okay?" His gaze swept across the bathroom and as he carefully came to get me, avoiding all the broken glasses on the floor. I stared at the mirror blankly, my breathing ragged because frankly, I had just seen a ghost. How do I explain that I hadn't simply seen a reflection? I had seen… him. The darkness I believed we had buried years ago smiled at me and until I had Killian's arms around me, I struggled to steady my breath. "Hey breathe, breathe.”I looked up at him, my chest aching. "We need to check on the kids.” He stared at me confused, whispering tutorials on how I could steady myself. I held on to his arm. “We need to check on the kids, now." My babies. I could be hallucinating but I wasn't fucking deaf. My feet carried me down the hallways with Killian yelling behind me t

Third person's pov The palace didn't look exactly as Ivy remembered it, the stone walls were not towering as they built on it, the gardens were not greener and filled with flowers almost covering the path to the forest where Aiden died. They were now silver banners dancing in the wind. The moment ivy stepped through the gates, something felt… heavier. There was a heavy gush of wind and it felt tense. She barely had the time to register it when Ayla called out to her, a familiar, soothing but more matured voice. “Ivy!” Ayla yelled as she fastened her pace towards her and threw her arms around her, burying her face into the crook of her neck and ivy did the same. to Ivy, Ayla looked almost the same even though her hair had grown longer and she had the feature of a parent. her eyes seems brighter and her she had increased in size. never in a thousand years would ivy imagine Ayla in floral gowns with her hair braided down to her waist. like she was those character fr

Ayla's POVI let the words of the maid sink in, and my knees immediately weakened, but not weakened enough for me not to brush past each and every one of them and made my way down the corridor. And all I could hear pounding in my ears was the frightened voice of the maid and her exact last statement. Oh goddess. Please..My heart hammered against my rib cage as I reached the children's playroom where he was. My little egg was laying beneath the blankets, his tiny body trembling violently and he continued to whisper something.Like he was chanting. My hand flies over my mouth. His face was flushed and beads of sweat trailed all over his body, from his forehead down to his. Killian appeared in the room a minute after, his breathing ragged. I dragged my legs towards him. “Find the guest wherever she may be and bring her, now." Killian ordered immediately. Lowering myself beside the bed there, he didn't stop shaking nor did he stop muttering inaudible words.Like the visual ima

Third person's POVIvy had concluded on what exactly she had to do. Find out what power exactly was in the library and try to dissect it. The old library was located in the deepest part of the castle and she was escorted by some maids that whispered about how they had never been here before. The castles had three floors, where the top floors were for the royals and the second were the dinings and the courtrooms and every other room. The last floor, on the east wing was where the library was found, large wooden doors sitting on the end of the wing. The air pressed against ivy's skin after the door opened but then she stopped just beyond the hidden entrance and slowly looked around. The library was dark but rays of light seeping from the curtains draped down, perfect place for kids to hide and seek, Ivy thought. Dust covered everything, she guessed even before the kids started to come here, this place had been abandoned for quite some time. Her eyes skimmed the shelf and there w

Ayla’s POVThe guards were more than surprised to see me down at the dungeon, I could tell they wanted to ask what was wrong but refrained themselves when they saw my expression.Unlike outside, the dungeon smelled like damp air and blood. Being here reminded me of Aiden and Kallum. No one should be locked up here…. Not if they didn't deserve it. But Lila deserved it. I walked through the narrow corridor, the sound of my footsteps echoing and the effect of my presence causing the lit torches on the wall to flicker. I kept walking until I reached the last cell. The cell was dark and large but from where I stood I could see the faint outline of a figure sitting on the end of the cell, her auburn hair falling to her knees. I squinted my eyes and realized she was already staring at me which made my heart jump since after that came a faint smirk. “Guess I must be day dreaming." Lila's voice was husky as she rose up from where she sat. For someone who had been in this cell for quit
