A STRANGE WOLF

TWO DAYS LATER.Zeedar has been taking it upon himself to assist Dessery any way he can with Heaven—feeding her, playing music with his cell phone while sitting next to her, taking her outside to gaze at the sun or the stars.Like now.Zeedar carries Heaven in a bridal style and heads outside, bringing her to a canopy in the desert and sitting her on of the benches, sitting next to her so that her body can lean against his.He looks down at her head resting on his arm for a while, then he stares afar off. Somehow, an imagination comes uninvited to him.He sees a scene of Heaven jumping about in the sand, trying to catch dust with a huge smile on her face. She finally gets to grab the dust and runs to him, stretching her hands out to him.Her hands cupped together until she opens them to reveal the little gray flake within them.“Take it!” she shrieks while making to jump a little. BACK FROM THE BRINK

“Zaphriel,” his voice comes out in a croaky whisper.“Long time no see,” Zaphriel responds with a genuine smile. “You’ve grown so tall, little brother. You were the last to bloom, but here you are standing three inches taller than I am.”“I am merely 6’4, brother. Not too tall.”“But you are tall.” Zaphriel steps near, standing only an inch close to Zeedar. “I heard about Ziason’s demise… I’m sorry.”

BETWEEN SIBLINGS

While Freck’s and Dessery’s expressions boldly spell out their shock, Zeedar hides his behind a blank demeanor, while Zaphriel cloaks his with a smile.“You’re alive!” Freck gasps, rushing towards Ziason with open arms. However, the latter frowns and swerves out of the Freck’s target line, causing the man to stumble forward and out of the room. He returns into the room with a smile as Ziason leans back on the threshold. “I’m happy you’re breathing brother.”Zeedar wipes his tear, casually approaches Ziason, and stands by his side. “Lucky for you, you are alive, yet you want another war? You barely survived one,” he whispers into Ziason’s ear.“Tell me, brother, was the offer of being an Alpha enticing?” Ziason asks without grudge as his eyes lingers on Heaven’s form. Sadness

RACING FAR FROM HEAVEN

“Watch her, feed her water from time to time, and do not let the fan stray from her,” Zeedar carefully instructs Dessery, who nods.He proceeds outside with a bottle of water in hand. Ziason is seated in the shade, so Zeedar walks across to meet him.He sits down beside him and thrusts the bottle to him. Ziason receives the bottle and immediately gulps down all of its content. “Thank you,” he mutters after.

SLEEPING BEAUTY

The two brothers storm into the room at once.While Zeedar approaches Heaven’s bed, Ziason pauses at the door, watching Heaven as Dessery helps her sit up.The girl was looking around the room, but now that she sights Zeedar, her eyes are stuck on him—even as he sits on the stool next to her bed.Ziason’s hands turn to fists at his sides. He’s overjoyed and relieved that Heaven is awake. But… what happened? Who exactly woke her up between him and his brothers?From what he understands now, instead of her waking up immediately after her Prince Charming kissed her, she woke up a few hours later. Their original plan for the journey back to Moon’s Wrath Pack was to put Heaven in a box. But her being awake makes things a little easier, even though she’s not strong enough to travel.As early as 2AM the next day, they all set out to travel. Ziason goes solo, running through the forests, while the rest ride in a car and then switch to a carriage once they exit the human world.The carriage, carrying Heaven, Dessery, and Zeedar, soon arrives at Moon’s Wrath pack’s border about two hours into the journey, and it shocks Zeedar to find there is no single sight of a sentinel whatsoever.However, a few miles after passing the border, he spies something from afar—a man sitting still on a horse.
