CHAPTER 10Chris stared at Mia, a horrified expression glued to his face. He wanted to move, to explain things to her, but his body felt limb and they couldn't do anything.She took slow strides towards them, her heels clicking the ground, each sound sending thrills down their spine. Her face remained emotionless, a blank expression that was hard to read. Sophia fears the most for her life. She tilted her head and looked at Chris, hoping he'd shed some light but he remained quiet adding to her nerves. She took a deep breath, and decided to take matters into her own hands.“M–Miss Mia?” She called slowly, once she found her voice. Mia spared a glance at her, which made Sophia breath hitched. She suddenly became spineless and the new found confidence she had found vanished into thin air.For a moment, they did nothing but stare at each other. Until—Mia bursts into laughter.
