CHAPTER ONE
“I'm not interested in attending the party.” Sophia said as calmly as she could but honestly, her creepy manager was starting to get on her nerves.
“It's not your choice to make, Soph.-”
“Stop calling me that. My name is Sophia.” She glared at him.
“Sorry, Sophia. The big boss is coming today and as his employees, we need to be present at his welcome party.” Andre smiled.
Sophia huffed and stormed out of his office and with every step she made, she could feel Andre’s lingering gaze on her backside.
That pervert!
“Are you okay?” Indira, one of her colleagues asked as Sophia plopped on her chair.
“No, it's this stupid party.” She bit her lips in anger.
“What's wrong with it? Aren't you excited? Everyone says he is handsome and quite the catch. I heard he's also single.” Indira giggled.
“I'm not trying to gain his attention.”
“Not if you're dressed that way.” Indira made a gesture at her entire outfit, “That black jumpsuit you have on is hugging every curve God bless you with and then you packed your hair in an updo exposing your neck. You look like you're hunting.”
“Hunting for who?” One of her eyebrows shot up in pure genuine confusion.
“An unsuspecting god-level hotness billionaire, perhaps?” Indira shrugged.
“Honestly, if I had a body like yours, Ben would not be leaving my bed tonight.” She grinned.
Sophia shook her head, Indira was not a slut but the words that sometimes came out of her mouth would make one think otherwise.
It's not the notion of the party that made her upset, it was the lingering feeling in the pit of her stomach, the kind that she got whenever something was going to go wrong.
Somehow, she could feel that something bad would happen at that party and that's why she didn't want to go.
Might as well finish my work for today… She thought to herself and began clicking away at her keyboard.

*AT THE PARTY*
“Come on girl! Loosen up! You're sticking out like a sore thumb.” Indira grinned as she grabbed Sophia by her hand and pulled her to the dance floor.
“I'm not in the mood, Indira.” Sophia whined.
“Silly! Come on. Wait! Let me get you a drink.”
Mary, who had been watching Sophia all night to make sure she tried nothing funny, saw this as an opportunity and immediately swooped in.
She was going to get Sophia out of the way. She would not let her steal the spotlight from her. All night, Andre had been eyeing Sophia and she knew that if Ben saw Sophia, he might fall for her.
Mary couldn't let that happen.
She grabbed a waiter and stuffed some cash in his hand.
“You see that girl over there,”
“The pretty one in black?”
Mary scowled, “Yes, her. Give her this drink and tell her it's from Indira. Make sure she drinks it all.”
Mary watched as the waiter walked up to Sophia and watched as she drank it all.
Sophia immediately began to feel dizzy.
When did I become such a lighthead? I could at least take three glasses before the alcohol kicks in. Sophia thought to herself.
“Oh, you've already had a drink!” Indira smiled as she dropped the extra glass on the bar stand beside Sophia.
“Didn't you send it? Gosh, I feel tired all of a sudden.” Sophia yawned. “I need to use the bathroom.”
“Don't worry, we’ve been given permission to use the guest rooms in the house. So just take one and rest. I'll see you tomorrow in the office, okay?”
Indira leaned over and pecked her cheeks before scramming away.
Sophia had no idea how she was able to make it up the stairs into one of the guestrooms, but the minute she was done, she collapsed on the bed and passed out.
Chris stumbled into his room drunk. His eyes were very clear or at least he thought they were.
He'd been waiting for her text all through the night but received nothing back in return. Maybe she had something to do or perhaps…perhaps…
He stopped as he saw a body wrapped in his white bedsheet, sleeping peacefully.
Mia…
He whispered to himself.
He didn't know how she could possibly be in his room but Chris was damn sure that the woman on his bed was Mia.
Hi Mia.
He quickly pulled off his clothes and got into the bed with Mia.
She smelt nice, better than before and her skin felt softer. A small purr left his lips as he buried his nose in her neck. He sucked at the sensitive spot in her neck that he was very familiar with and even deep in her sleep, she responded to him.
She always responded to him and it always drove him crazy how sensitive she was.
“You have no idea what you do to me, Mia.” He murmured against her skin and his hands began to work.
He needed to feel her naked skin against his, badly, he had to.
He reached around for an opening in her dress and smiled as he felt the zipper. In less than seconds, Mia was naked underneath him, surrounded by the ghostly color of the moonlight illuminating his bedroom.
His finger traced the soft curve of her face and he leaned down to kiss her lips, claiming them softly and tugging on it in a lover’s gentle caress.
He pulled away when he felt her shift against him.
“My Mia. My Love…”
She raised her hand slowly to frame his face, rubbing the pad of her fingertips against his chiseled jaw and his right cheekbone.
Chris had to admit, his Mia was looking more beautiful in the moonlight.
“I've been waiting for you.” he whispered in her ears as he bit against the skin of her neck.
“The wait is finally over. I'm here now.” He whispered as he thrust into her pleasing heat, wet and tight for him.
CHAPTER 13Sophia’s jaw hangs open, stares at Chris in disbelief. “W—What the hell are you talking about?” She said, using laughter to mask her disbelief.“You wouldn't want us to get married. I mean, I know your parents want us too but you have a girlfriend already. I don't think we should rush into such a decision.”She waited to hear his response, but there was nothing but silence that filled the atmosphere. He remained unmoved, his expression stern and unfazed. She realized quickly by the look on his face that he meant everything he had just said.“What….what about your girlfriend?” She asked. “She'd kill me if she discovered this. I don't think we should—”“Dont worry about my girlfriend,” he cuts In abruptly. “All you should be concerned about is the wedding preparations. My parents wanted it in a grand style but I managed to convince them to throw a modest one. The wedding is in three days. You'd be moving to my apartment tomorrow. I'd have some people help you move in, So don'
CHAPTER 12My legs felt wobbly and it suddenly became hard to breathe at that moment. I could hear Kira and she was also panicking, but I couldn't process her words. But I could hear her murmuring words like “You don't have to worry, I'm here for you” and “there's got to be a way to fix this.”She meant well, and I was grateful for her support but it didn't get rid of the fact that this had blown up for the media to see. My identity revealed. I would never be able to show my face at work ever again. Before I knew it, I began losing my balance and almost fell to the ground, but Kira caught me quickly and helped me back up, wrapping her hands firmly around my shoulders. My eyes stung. My vision blurred. Tears threatened to roll down my cheeks at any second, and there was this loud ringing that wouldn't stop in my head.Like things couldn't get hard enough, my phone started blowing up. I didn't want to check it, but another part of me; the curious part wanted to know what it was.I opene
CHAPTER 11Sophia felt her heart slamming in her ribs, as she fiddled her fingers. The silence stretched through the room and for a few minutes, none of them said a word to each other. She didn't fail to notice the frustration clearly written on his face. The way his jaw clenched, and despite the fact that he tried to hide it, she read him like an open book. She took a deep breath, mustering up the courage to speak to him. “A—are you okay?” She asked, her voice low and timid.Chris turned his head to face her, anger and dispute clearly shown in his expression. “Are you seriously asking me that question? After what you've just done, huh?”Her vision became blurry, but she stared at the marbled floor instead, refusing to meet his gaze. “I…I had no idea she was going to come in. It's not my fault,” she defended.Chris let out a humourless laughter, the kind that held so much bitterness. “You definitely planned this. You think this would ruin my relationship so you can have me all to you
CHAPTER 10Chris stared at Mia, a horrified expression glued to his face. He wanted to move, to explain things to her, but his body felt limb and they couldn't do anything. She took slow strides towards them, her heels clicking the ground, each sound sending thrills down their spine. Her face remained emotionless, a blank expression that was hard to read. Sophia fears the most for her life. She tilted her head and looked at Chris, hoping he'd shed some light but he remained quiet adding to her nerves. She took a deep breath, and decided to take matters into her own hands.“M–Miss Mia?” She called slowly, once she found her voice. Mia spared a glance at her, which made Sophia breath hitched. She suddenly became spineless and the new found confidence she had found vanished into thin air.For a moment, they did nothing but stare at each other. Until—Mia bursts into laughter. It echoed through the office which had suddenly started to feel tighter as the tension only became more apparen
CHAPTER 9Sophia was happy that no one in the company knew about her little night stand with the CEO. She didn't even want to show up to work, but Kira convinced me too. She kept talking about how she shouldn't be bothered by it and everyone has sex. It was just some liberal feminism stuff, she couldn't quite place. But, she was right. Besides, she didn't want to lose her job. She worked so hard to get it and she's not going to let it go because of this. She convinced herself that Chris and her can just be professional and outside of work, we can discuss things. She made her way to her cubicle, and no less than five minutes after sorting down—her intercom started buzzing. “White enterprise. To whom am I speaking too?”“Get my boyfriend on the fucking line or we're going to have problem. Right now.”Thrills ran down my spine. I recognized that voice anywhere and judging by the snarl laced with her tone, I could tell that it was Mia. Chris’ girlfriend. She's one hell of a pain in the a
CHAPTER 8Sophia couldn't forget the look on Chris’ face after his parents mentioned that they'd have to get married. She didn't want to get married to him, but if that's what it took to have him present in their baby's life then she was willing to comply. Kiran messaged her arms gently. “You don't have to think about what that keek said. The important thing is that you two are going to get married,” she squealed. Sophia couldn't believe that her friend was ecstatic while she was reeling the thought in her head. She knew it was only a matter of time before rumors started flying and she knew that she's ne the gossip of the office soonKiran noticed her gloomy face and palmed her chin. “Are you okay? Is something bothering you?” She inquired.Sophia sighed in defeat. “What if he doesn't even want my baby? He's only getting married to me because his parents are forcing him anyway. I can't even think of showing up to work. Gosh! It's so embarrassing.”She calmed her face in her hands, b
