All Chapters of Little Dark Secrets : Chapter 121 - Chapter 130

JadenneThe word was still hanging in the air. “Whoring out.”Ivy’s face changed. Her eyes went wide for half a second, then hard. Real hard. Before I could even take it back, her hand flew across the table and slapped me so loud it sounded like a clap. My head snapped to the side. The sting burned hot on my cheek.“You little bitch,” she said, voice low and shaking.I opened my mouth but nothing came out. Mum gasped, “Ivy, no…” but Ivy was already up. She grabbed my arm and yanked me hard. I stumbled and she hit me again, this time with her fist on my shoulder. It hurt. Then she pushed me against the wall. Her hands were everywhere slapping my arms, my back, my face again. Not soft hits. Hard ones. The kind that leave marks.I tried to cover my head but she was stronger. She always has been. “You think you can talk to me like that?” she yelled. “After everything I do? You call me a whore in my own house?”Kai stood up fast. “Ivy, stop! That’s enough!”But she didn’t stop right away.

Jadenne I pushed at his chest, but he was stronger. His hands kept moving, trying to pull at my dress. Fear filled me like ice water. I felt small and stupid and trapped. This was what Ivy faced every night? This sick feeling in my stomach? I screamed louder. “Help! Somebody help me!”The door burst open.Ivy stood there, eyes wide with shock, then pure rage. She must have come looking for me after hearing my voice. Or maybe someone told her. Her face changed in a second from tired sister to angry lion. She flew at him like a storm. “Get your dirty hands off my sister!”Her slap landed hard on his face. Then she kicked him in the stomach. He fell back on the couch, gasping. Ivy didn’t stop. She punched him, slapped him again and again. “You touch her and I’ll kill you! You hear me? I’ll kill you!”Mr. Harlan shouted in pain. People rushed in bouncers, the woman in black, other girls. They grabbed Ivy and pulled her off him. She fought them too, kicking and screaming. Her hair was wi

Jade The ride to Kai’s apartment was weirdly quiet after that.I sat in the back holding one of our bags while Ivy stared out the window trying not to cry again. Kai kept glancing at her every five seconds like he thought she might disappear. When we got upstairs, Ivy immediately started apologizing for existing.“We’ll stay out of your way.”“You’re not cockroaches, Ivy.”“We can sleep on the floor.”“There’s literally a guest room.”“We’ll clean everything.”“You already clean my apartment when you’re angry.”“Your fridge is disgusting.”“My fridge has personality.”“Your milk expired last month.”“It’s aged.”“You almost killed yourself with dairy.”Kai unlocked the door. “Welcome home.”That word hit hard.I saw Ivy freeze for a second before looking away quickly. The apartment smelled clean and warm and normal. No smoke. No burned walls. No screaming neighbors.I suddenly wanted to cry too.Kai noticed instantly because apparently nothing escaped him.“Oh no,” he sighed dramatic

Ivy I sat there on that old couch with my hands shaking so bad I had to shove them under my legs just to stop staring at them. Jade and Kai had come back hours ago without Mom and the way they said it so casual like it was no big deal made my stomach twist into knots. They left her in jail. Just like that. My chest kept getting tighter and tighter and my head would not stop spinning with all the terrible things that could happen to her in there. What if the other women picked on her or the guards treated her rough or she forgot to take her medicine and started yelling at everyone again. Jade looked completely wiped out with her eyes all red and puffy but she kept repeating that it would be okay like saying it enough times would make it true. Kai just stood by the kitchen counter looking guilty as hell like he knew deep down this whole mess had his name written all over it from that stupid ex or whatever she was."You two just left her there?" I said and my voice came out way higher a

IvyI pushed the door shut behind me and just stood there breathing like I’d run a marathon even though I’d only walked from the cop car block earlier. My chest felt tight, like somebody had their fist around my heart and kept squeezing every time I thought about Mom in that cell. Jade jumped up from the couch right away, eyes all puffy and red.“Ivy what happened at the station? You were gone forever. Is Mom okay? Did they say when she can come home?”Kai stood there in the kitchen still holding that dumb mug of tea like he was some kind of hero making drinks while his ex caused all this mess. He looked at me with those big worried eyes that used to make me feel safe but now just made me want to throw something. “You look dead on your feet, Ivy. Sit down. Drink this. I’ll heat up some food. You need to rest, seriously. Your mom wouldn’t want you running yourself into the ground like this.”I laughed but it came out all sharp and ugly. “Rest? Oh that’s rich coming from you, Kai. My mo
