Elvira’s POV What was wrong with these people? How could they leave me behind? Didn’t they think I would get lost?! I tried to follow behind them but I couldn’t see them. I was sure they'd taken this path, but there wasn’t even a footprint to follow. I walked around to find a path out of this place, but it felt like I was turning in endless circles. Calix’s POV “Calix…. Calix.” I opened my eyes to the sound of Ace’s voice. I lifted myself from the floor and sat up. I didn’t even know how long I had been in here and I didn’t even know how I slept off. “Elvira?” That was the first name that came to mind as I saw him kneeling beside me. Ace nodded his head, “Her surgery was successful.” A wave of relief washed through me as I glanced up. He really did answer people like me, “How…. How is she now?” “She is unconscious for now, though her surgery was successful, we have to wait for her to wake up,” Ace explained, “She is in ICU.” “Does your family have ties to this hospital?” That was the first thing that came to my mind. Ace stared at me as if trying to understand me, “Yes, they know a few doctors, any issue?” “No,” I gave a subtle smile as I stood up from the floor. I couldn’t trust any of them around my Elvira. Someone from this family wanted to kill her and I know that person wouldn’t stop until they succeeded.
