Chapter 130. Damien's POV I allowed her to get closer to the edge before I cocked the gun. She turned around and her eyes slightly widened when she saw the gun I was pointing at her. Somehow, she didn't look surprised. "A gun, Damien. Wow." She mumbled. "After the whole speech about being grateful for me saving your life? This is how you repay me?" "Emily, I didn't pay those policemen a huge amount of money because I wanted to help you escape from prison." I told her. She sighed and turned back to look at the falling water. The fog was making the surroundings look cloudy. She folded her hands, like she absolutely didn't care that I was having a gun pointed at her. "Did Adrian put you up to this?" She wondered. "That's very cowardly of him. If he wanted to get rid of me, he should at least have the heart to do it himself." "Enough, Emily, it's time you realize that there is nothing that you can say or do that will get you out of this situation." I warned her

Chapter 132. Damien's POV She would like to deny it, she would love to avoid me, but I'd always known that we would come back to each other. The last time my mother took me to see her healer, she brought up the fact that I was a grown man and I hadn't found my mate. She was worried that I was nonchalant about the whole thing, but the healer only laughed. I had known my mate since I was a young boy, but I never told a soul... She was the perfect woman, she thought of me as her annoying little brother, and she hated my guts. And how I managed to push her a little crazier than her brother. I wanted to get her attention so badly, and subtle flirting wasn't working anymore. Maybe she was a blind mole, but she couldn't see the signs I was throwing her way. I was handsome, a ladies' man from a young age, but Monica never gave me the time of the day. I thought it was just a crush that lingered on, but it lasted for years and I feared that I was just sexually thirsti

Chapter 134 Alpha Adrian's POV "What if you conduct a DNA test to confirm that I am really her cousin?" The words rang through my head once more. DNA test? Was this guy being for real? "I mean, you've got nothing to loose." He added with a shrug, his expression a bit wry. "You want me to do a DNA test?" "Yes, to clear your doubts. And then afterwards Victoria comes with me." Truth be told I wasn't expecting that. I honestly wasn't, but I couldn't help but think of it now that he mentioned it. If he was willing to go to such lengths, it could only mean one thing-he's telling the truth. Besides if he was lying my wolf would've sensed it. But that still didn't change the fact that he was determined to go back to the Blood Moon pack with Tori, well I'd say desperate, rather. It took me some seconds to respond. Not like I didn't know what to say but this guy was a walking contradiction: ragged and filthy, yet carrying the certainty of a man who'd been raised on ritual

Chapter 136 Alpha Adrian's POV A day had passed since that night. The night I had felt more inclined to defend Tori more than anything. And even now, as I sat in my office I still felt that way. There hadn't been any news from Hayes concerning the results but Roderick and the boys were still keeping tabs on him, Tori's supposed cousin. It was undeniably, a good thing that she was finally going to meet her family after being separated from them for this long, but deep down inside of me. I didn't want any of this to be true. Yes, I didn't want Tori going through the emotional pain of reliving her past. They say people do crazy things for people they cared so much about. Yes, I cared for her that much and was willing to do extreme things for her sake. Same way I felt for my family, that knucklehead Damien included. Just then my phone vibrated. A notification. I paused, dropped the pen I had been flipping for some time now, then reached for the phone. > "Monica's discha

Chapter 138. Tori's POV I couldn't sleep all through the night, even though Adrian's gentle hands were wrapped around me fondly. How could I? I was thinking about how my original pack asked someone to come find me. I never had somewhere to belong to, I grew in foster homes, and it wasn't the best experience of my life. I didn't know to feel about confronting my past now, it was easier to accept that I fell from the sky years ago. I already said yes to Adrian, he was trying to protect me by telling me that I didn't have to go if that wasn't what I want, but I said yes. Because I had a longing to know my roots. I wanted to know what I looked like, and who my people were, even though they were considered savages– Forest people. First of all, I had to have dinner with my cousin, Jackson. This would prepare me for whatever I was going to face when I return back to the pack with him... My palms were all sweating and I was wringing my fingers like a nerd suffering
