Chapter 139. Adrian's POV Tori, Jackson, Arthur, and I, were getting ready to go to Tori's pack. The servants were loading our bags into the car, and Tori was kneeling in front of Kylian, as he bade the giggling baby goodbye. His shoulders fell as he sighed. "I don't understand, why can't I come with you guys?" "Because you are in school, and you can't skip a week, that would be very bad for a growing kid." I muttered under my breath, adjusting my shades. "I am not a kid! I'm grown!" Kylian pouted. "I'm a big boy!" Tori laughed as she ruffled his hair. "Of course you are, but don't worry, we won't be away for long. We will be back before you know it." "Yeah, she is right. I will be right here to keep you company." Monica said with a smile from the door. Yes, if there was one person I found trust with my son, it was my family. My mother travelled out of the country for a day or two, but when she returned, she would join them in my house. Monica and Tori

Chapter 141. Tori's POV I felt Adrian stiffen next to me. "Excuse me?" Luna dowager gave him a sorry smile. "I'm sorry, she didn't tell you? Well, I don't blame her because she was a wee child when she left. Her mother was the pack whore, and I honestly don't like to judge people before getting to know them, but there is a large possibility that it rubbed off on her." "Judge her?!" Adrian asked with a very pissed off tone. "You want to judge Tori for something that was entirely not her doing?!" "Adrian, honey, I was barren for the first five years of my marriage. Yes, it was beyond my control, but I didn't blame anyone but myself." "Bullshit!" Adrian huffed. Larissa is taken aback by this. "Alpha Adrian please watch your tone. You are speaking to my mother, and you are in the presence of the leader of this pack!" "Trust me, I will regard you with the highest disrespect, and there is nothing that you can do about it! Tori has a huge fashion house, and she l

Chapter 143. Tori's POV I couldn't feel my legs, or my hands, or even what my tongue felt like against my teeth. I was staring down at grave of the mother I never met. Adrian was standing to my left, and I could hear him sigh over and over again. "I can exhume her, Tori." He said. "I can get men here to get her out of here and into a more dignifying place in one hour. Just give me the word." I didn't answer him, instead I fell on my knees and started to pull at the overgrown grasses on my mother's shallow grave. How dare they grow over her head? How dare anyone bury my mother so close to a dump. "Tori, you've got to stop. Calm down." Adrian said, but I refused to listen to him. I pulled so hard at a patch of grass, but it was so stubborn. My answer added more to my strength and I pulled like it was the last thing I was going to do. The patch came out, but I fell on my butt, like the loser that I was. My two fingers were also bleeding and throbbing wi

Chapter 145. Tori's POV Who would have thought that the first time I would actually meet my father was him being a cold, eeriely still corpse. I was frozen in all of these blinking eyes, and fucking this up, even though that was the single thing that Larissa and her mother implored me not to do. My eyes met with Adrian's, and he held my gaze as he slowly stood up to his feet. I knew what he was doing. Fuck my dead dad, he was going to get me out of this place... "No, Tori, you can do this. You've come a long way, and see how many people have come? I'm right here girl, you will be fine. Come on, one foot in front of the other," Her smoothly hand held mIne and with a gentle tuck, she pulled me along. Slowly, I went to the chairs that were set a little away from the corpse, but also from everyone else. I sat down and immediately started to pick at my nails. One of the craziest things that I used to do to help with my anxiety. Even with my stunt, Larissa and he

Chapter 147. Tori's POV The drums started and it was like my limbs had a mind of their own. It was like my subconscious had taken a backseat and something else was now controlling me. It was a scary experience, it was like being attacked by sleep paralysis– except I was awake and dancing. I had always been a sloppy dancer, so why was I moving with so much grace? My hips moved with vigor, and my hands were going everywhere. "No,no,no,no," I tried to scream, but I didn't listen. I got closer to the body and started to dance around it. I was too close for my own comfort, but I also refused to move away. Even though I wasn't controlling myself, I started to feel the fatigue of the aggressive dancing. I was dripping with sweat, but my legs couldn't be fixed to a spot on the ground. I thought I was going to die because of how weaker I grew with each passing second, but then I reached that breaking point. When I opened my eyes, everything was different.
