All Chapters of MY STEPBROTHER IS MY HOCKEY RIVAL: Chapter 1 - Chapter 10

NOAH MASONThe first time I laid my eyes on Takumi Williams was on the hockey field, right after our match with the Harrington Wolves.I wasn't used to losses. And even more, I wasn't used to my opponents visibly gloating after defeating my team. But there Takumi Williams was, smiling from ear to ear as his team celebrated their victory.More than anything at that moment, I wanted to wipe that stupid smile off his face. That stupid smile that made his face light up, his dark eyes glisten, and his thick hair fall over his forehead as he jumped around with his teammates. But I couldn't. And instead, I was left to deal with the aftermath of having my new enemy suddenly wink at me the second he realized I was glaring at him.The second time I laid my eyes on Takumi Williams was later that night. My father had forced me to attend a family dinner to introduce his new girlfriend to me. The mere information had pissed me off, and the only reason I was attending was to show my displeasure to b

NOAH MASON “You’re the captain. I’ll consider the loss against the Wolves as a mistake but I need you to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Okay?” I nodded, Coach Smith squeezing my shoulders before he walked out of the locker room. He gently shut the door and seconds later it opened again, familiar footsteps approaching me. “Christ, is he still grilling you on last week’s loss?” Ethan, my closest friend who was also on the team walked in. “One loss doesn’t change anything. When was the last time they won anyways? You both need to cut yourselves some slack.” “The issue isn’t the fact that they won,” I slammed my locker shut. “It’s the fact that they won the day Takumi Williams returned. Now stupid rumors are going around saying we just can’t beat him.” Ethan burst into laughter, grabbing me by the shoulders to steady me. “Don’t be ridiculous, Noah. Williams isn’t a rival. The Wolves aren’t a rival. The entire team is a joke. Everyone knows it was created as a sob apology to guys w

NOAH’S POV“Fucking bastard.” The words didn’t leave my mouth as I stormed out of the house and got into my car, immediately roaring the engine to life. I was enraged and for the first time in a long while, wasn’t sure who exactly to direct my anger towards—Rayna? Takumi? My father? Or even myself? The image of Takumi with Rayna still refused to leave my head, replaying itself every time I closed my eyes. Her sitting half naked on him, his arms around her, their mouths pressed together like neither of them had a single thought about what they were doing.I tightened my grip around the steering wheel. I didn't know what pissed me off more—the fact that she'd cheated on me or the fact that she'd done it with him. Rayna and I had never been the most perfect couple. We were okay at best, respected each other and knew a decent amount of things about each other. But apparently I was terribly wrong all along. Trying to avoid the thoughts was useless so I spent the entire ride blaming

TAKUMI WILLIAMS I’d been beginning to think the only expression Noah was capable of wearing was a frown. But in less than twenty minutes, he proved me wrong, a chuckle escaping my lips as I replayed the whole encounter in my mind all over again. He sure looked way better than I expected, considering how he’d staggered into the house the previous night. He looked a drunk mess and seemed completely oblivious to the fact that I was in the living room the entire time, watching him ramble on as he struggled with his balance and eventually made his way to his room. Another chuckle escaped my lips as I turned around, my eyes roaming the couch in search of my phone. I found it easily, the buzzing sound coming from it giving away its location. The screen lit up as it sat in my hands, a new message popping up. Caleb: Where are you? Caleb: Your first class and you’re gonna be late again? Glancing at the time, I shoved the phone down my pocket and lazily made my way out of the living room

TAKUMI WILLIAMSPractice ended at 6pm and the minute it was over, I grabbed my things and left, heading straight home.Home.I was yet to properly set up my room at Noah’s and as a result, had been a bit messier than usual.Considering the way Noah had reacted to a couple of things being left in the living room, I figured it was probably best not to give him another reason to complain about me.I tossed my bag onto the bed and immediately started picking up the clothes scattered around the room, folding the ones I could still wear and throwing the rest into the laundry basket. My suitcase was still sitting in the corner exactly where I’d left it, half-open with clothes hanging out of it, and after staring at it for a few seconds, I finally decided I might as well unpack.By the time I was done, the room finally looked like someone lived there. I walked out of the room and looked around the rest of the house, noticing a couple of things I’d left around earlier. I picked them up too, p
