What the divinator saw - Pt 2

ELARA'S POVA few days had passed. The minutes kept ticking in my head, wondering when the divinator would arrive, when my fate would be sealed.Suddenly, I heard noises outside the dungeon, I heard the dungeon being opened. I knew he had arrived.I'm lost in my thoughts when the guards come up to me, pick me up and drag me to the hall as usual, it's familiar this time. The wounds on my back have healed a long way so I feel better, I feel stronger. And I also knew I was being watched, I didn't know by who or what, but I knew I was being watched, and I just might be safe. Though I didn't fully believe that either.I sat on the cold stone floor in the hall, not bothering to look anyone in the eyes and see the disgust on their faces.Through the corner of my eyes, I spotted the guards leading someone into the hall, dressed in all black, a cloak covering his eyes. I felt an uncomfortable presence from him, a dark presence."This must be the divinator" I thought to myself. "We are gather

Seven Days to Truth

THIRD PERSON'S POV.The alpha paced the length of his chambers, visibly agitated and angry at the outcome of the ritual. He kept on wondering what must have gone wrong. The divinator had run back to his chamber."Guards," he yelled. The guards stationed at his door rushed in. "Get me the divinator" the alpha said. "Yes, Alpha, " the guard said and walked out of the room in a hurry. The alpha was visibly vexed and continued pacing the length of his room for a few more minutes when he heard a knock on his door."Come in," he said, in a harsh tone. The divinator walked in, his head bent, scared of the Alpha, his Alpha power reverberated all over the chamber, forcing the divinator to succumb."Explain" the Alpha said in a gruff tone. The divinator shuffled, not knowing how to address the situation because he was confused himself, he had never seen such a display of power."Alpha, it seems that high and strong magic is in play here, much stronger than what we had anticipated and it will ta

Shadows of doubt

THIRD PERSON'S POV6 days had passed and the divinator had not been able to come to a solution regarding Elara. He has exhausted every means he had, checked every scroll and every old journal left from his ancestors, but it seems nothing like this had ever been recorded. He continued pacing round the chambers giving to him, his assistants were working tirelessly checking all the scrolls and reading and looking for clues wherever they could."Found anything yet?" He asked the girls, sweat beads forming on his head which he wiped away furiously."No my lord" they answered almost simultaneously. His hope cracked a little more, this would mean death for him if he wasn't able to give the Alpha and the pack a solution."I should have never accepted this, this is bigger than me" he muttered to himself, still pacing around. The sound of books and scrolls opening and closing could be heard as the girls worked, trying to find a solution for their master. The room was hot from the heat of the c

The warning

ELARA'S POV.It had been 6 days since the first ritual and today was the 7th day. Today would be the next full moon. I thought to myself. The first ritual hadn't gone as expected. The way the divinator ran told me everything I needed to know. I could remember the feeling from that night, something dark was behind me. I remember him calling out to my shadow but I don't know what made him run away from me.I didn't want to give it much thought, moreover, I hadn't even been feeling the bond as much anymore. This was truly a very weird bond. The Alpha hadn't visited me all week too, no one had. I had just woken up to always meet my food. I was going crazy being locked up in here without any light."This is getting too much," I said to myself.Amidst all my thoughts, I heard the dungeon doors opening. I should have been scared, but I was anxious to see who it was. I was getting tired of being locked up in here by myself.I heard footsteps getting closer.........THIRD PERSON POV.The guar

Aftermath

THIRD PERSON POVThe alpha was in a meeting with his elders when a guard ran into the hall with panic in his eyes. He walked swiftly to where the alpha was and got on one knee."Alpha, the divinator is nowhere to be found " the guard said, out of breath."What?" the elders said in unison. "Where has he gone to?" the Alpha asked."We do not know sir, some guards are already out looking for him, but there's one other thing sir", the guard hesitated before speaking."What is it?" the Alpha said impatiently, a growl coming out."His chambers have been cleared out too, he must have fled in the night, his assistants are gone too, all his books and tools are gone, the room is empty" he said, sweating profusely."Traitor, I knew we couldn't trust him after the first ritual mishap," one of the elders said angrily."We should have had guards watching him round the clock" another one chipped in.The Alpha was silently fuming. "Take guards and scour the entire pack and the forest, get our best wo

The stirring

UNKNOWN POVI watched with an emotionless face as she sauntered towards me."I told you not to act now" I scolded her sternly."I couldn't let him lay his filthy hands on me" she replied back with a smirk on her face, seemingly unfazed."That could have worsened things, don't you know?" I pressed further."Oh please, I know, I know, and even though I can't take form yet, you know no one is a match for me in that pack, not even if the Alpha came at me with a hundred of his men" she replied with pride."It doesn't matter, she has to gain control, she has to access it on her own, you know what happens if she doesn't gain control of it" I tried to tell her, she obviously didn't know how important this was.Her smile faltered."Do you think I don't care about her? Or that I don't know that? I do, I just didn't want him touching us or peering into us, we are one, I have to protect her" she said sadly. She was right though. She had to protect her. "Well, it's a good thing he chose to run a

Breaking silence

THIRD PERSON POV.The past few days had been a series of meetings with the Alpha and his elders. They had been trying to come up with a plan, anything to get rid of the mate bond the alpha was so desperate to get rid of.As of this moment, the alpha stood in the hall with his elders. One of the elders hesitated and then spoke "Alpha, what if it is a true mate bond? What if the moon goddess chased away the divinator so that the mate bond could not be severed?" His words carried weight, and the room was silent for some minutes. The other elders seemed to be thinking of what he said and weighing the options in their head.Alpha Kane, seemingly calm, stated firmly "I am of the conviction that a mistake has been made and that is final, the mate bond must be gotten rid of, one way or the other. I will not let it hinder this pack nor will I let it stop me. If we have to kill the girl, we must do it" he ended, still firm, still calm, as if he had already made his decision. The same elder from

Silent storm

THIRD PERSON POV"Alpha, I think you might have been too rash with your decision concerning the girl, especially in the presence of the entire pack" one of the elders spoke up.The elders had hurriedly convened with the Alpha in his chambers after his public decision to kill Elara in 3 days to end the mate bond."I think so too Alpha, I understand the girl may have angered you, but we should think things clearly, this might be detrimental to the pack. We do not know for sure now if the bond is real or not, what if we end up making a grave mistake?" The oldest elder asked. The other Elders nodded in agreement, though they had entertained the idea of the mate bond being fake, they had no idea to tell if it was real now, with the divinator being gone, they had no idea what to believe, or what route to take. The Alpha sat there still speechless, deep in his thoughts. He thought he might have been too rash too, but he couldn't take back his words now. The pack would think he was weak, the

The hunt

THIRD PERSON POV "Gone ... .gone...., what do you mean the girl is gone?" The alpha asked angrily, how voiced wheezing as he tried to scream angrily at the guard but he still hadn't recovered. The guard stood there shaking, sweating heavily, eyes bent to the ground. "What do you mean, where is the girl?" The elders asked him impatiently. "I went to get the girl as you ordered, when I got to the dungeon, I found the guards stationed outside asleep on the ground, and the dungeon was open, I checked her cell, it was open too and she wasn't there" the guard answered in a shaky voice. The room grew colder, as if the realization of what had just happened had dawned on all of them. "What are you still doing here? Mobilize the guards and search the whole pack, search everywhere, do it now!!!" The alpha tried to yell. The guard nodded and hurried away in search of Elara. "Who was last seen with the girl? Was anyone allowed close to her? I gave strict others, no one was allowed to go clo

The promise of Escape

ELARA'S POVThe Alpha had just pronounced my death. Was I really going to die?I had to find a way out and fast......In the midst of all these thoughts, I didn't know I would be able to even get some sleep, I didn't even know how I slept off because my mind was overridden with thoughts. I had been thinking non stop for hours, looking for a way to escape, but it was seeming impossible.I couldn't even get out of my cell, I didn't have a key.How would I escape and get past the guards and all the way out of the pack.I laughed to myself, it was so impossible, this would mean my end, this would mean the end of a life barely lived. While I was thinking about this, my thoughts had turned from thoughts of escape to thoughts of self pity because it seemed that no matter what I thought about, it always ended up the wrong way.I had even lost count of how long I had been thinking wide awake, then the next minute, I felt the chill calm presence in the cell, it didn't make a sound, it was ju
