Goddess Touched: Rise of the Reborn Luna のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 1 - チャプター 10

Chapter 1I tapped my sneaker impatiently. “Hurry up already, Gladys! I’m starving.Elena whipped around, her bangs partially askew. I tried not to giggle. She didn’t have time to flatten them this morning. In her hand was the key Kota kept hidden under the welcome mat for us. She grunted under her breath as she fumbled to unlock the door. “I’m one month younger than you! Call me old again and I’ll move slower.” “My human body requires food! Today’s my big day. I need all of my energy for tryouts.” I reminded her.“Half-human.” She ignored the second half. Granted I had been going on about it for weeks now.The front door swung open, the key still jammed in the lock. I skipped inside and offered her a sinister smile. “Bless your heart, meemaw.”“Meemaw?” She snarled, her eyes going wide.Chuckling over the attitude she was sure to have, I immediately began raiding the fridge. My fingers brushed over Kota’s chocolate yogurt. Instead I opted for the cherry vanilla his dad kept stocked

Chapter 3I tore through my closet for something decent to wear.It had taken an hour to get out of that stuffy room. An hour of nodding my head and promising to be a good non-shifting whatever the hell I was. An hour of promising not to show or tell a single soul about the handprint on my shoulder–Kota and Elena included. As if.It had taken me half of that time to squeeze their location out of Mrs. Davenport. After explaining they were at a freshman field day the college held every summer, she exhaled through her nose and huffed. “It’s about time they did something other than search for you. I thought Elena would never come home. They tried to get a party together and everything, but–well, no one is interested in looking for a wolf who can’t shift. It’s a blessing you aren’t dead,” she ranted.Rage once again simmered beneath my skin.I was still raw from my hasty shower when I backed my car out of the driveway. The stinging had gone down by the time I reached the college. There were

Chapter 5The air was ripped from my lungs with such violence that I almost doubled over.I couldn’t speak. If I could, what would I say?Kota hovered over another girl, his back glistening with sweat. I recognized his muscles. I still had the phantom touch of them under my fingers. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him long enough to see who the girl was. It didn’t matter, though. The wet sounds of them kissing ended abruptly. Kota whirled around, fear and horror unlike anything I’d ever seen before washed over his face. It was as if someone was dying right before his eyes.Within a blink, I became detached from my body. A specter watching through hazy glass as something else took over. Deep-seeded regret replaced the fear. “No, no, no, Chloe–”The thing inside of me turned and ran, carrying us down the stairs so quickly I skipped the last five steps before racing out the front door. My sandals flew off the second I hit the sidewalk. It grated against the soles of my feet, but I

The second I was dismissed I practically ran to my car. It took all of my energy not to break into a full sprint. The pathetic goodbye letter was burning a hole in my bag, and if I didn’t figure out who murdered me within the next few days I would most definitely explode.First this and now Kota. Projecting every ounce of my rage onto my murderer was all too easy. My fingers tightened on the wheel as I drove myself to one of the last places I wanted to be.Our high-school sat two stories tall, the outer hallways lined with windows along with a thick ledge that ran against it. From the parking lot I could see the summer school students lounging on it. Months ago–even years ago–that was Kota, Elena, and I. My eyes trailed to the front doors we would burst through at the end of every day, all too ready to head back to Kota’s or to the cabin if it were in the warmer months. The faculty hadn’t even repainted the senior parking spots. The mural the three of us worked on stood out the m

When my head hit the pillow that night, I slipped into another world. The shadows splashed along the brick walls caging in the narrow alleyway were dark and chilly. I could almost feel the goosebumps forming on my arms. This had to be a dream, but it wasn’t like any I’d ever had. There was this energy thrumming in my veins, tingling over my skin in soft ripples. It felt an awful lot like when I’d slipped into Mindy’s mind. I whirled around at the sound of her voice and gasped when she strutted into the alleyway. She was wearing one piece that actually looked somewhat cute–not that I’d ever tell her skank ass. Her eyes seemed to go through me and as she headed deeper into the bones of the city, not a single flicker of recognition on her face.I had decided that this was real. It had to be the goddess mark. Her back was to me, and I curled my lip at her split ends. They wouldn’t be so dry if she’d stop bleaching it every other week. Her streaks were still the same, so this had to be re
