Semua Bab The Miracle Luna’s Three Guardians: Bab 1 - Bab 10

Erin’s POVMy hands shook as I picked it up from the bathroom sink. I'd taken it last night, thinking he would come home.He hadn’t.Carlos is the Alpha of our pack, though. This meant long hours away from home. I knew this, but over the past few days, maybe even weeks, he’d been different. No. Distant. But he was home now.Because we had dinner in less than an hour.He was downstairs in his office. I closed my hand around the stick. I rushed out of the bathroom.Carlos was finally home.I hadn’t seen him in days, but this was about to change that.I knew it would.I hurried down the stairs, nearly slipping on the last one. Rushing towards his office door, I pushed it open. Carlos was standing near his desk, papers in hand.He looked tired. His shirt was creased, dark circles sitting under his eyes.“Carlos?” I walked into the room, stopping a few feet away from him, nervousness suddenly overtaking me. My hand became sweaty around the stick.“Not now, Erin, I'm tired,” he said, rubbing

Erin’s POV“Erin, you can’t be serious.” Carlos stared at me like he couldn’t believe what I had said. “Nothing happened. I didn’t sleep with her. I promise.”I wanted to believe him.Goddess, part of me still desperately wanted to believe every word that came out of his mouth.I wanted to reach for that promise and hold onto it until everything I had heard tonight disappeared. Until Julia was nothing more than a name from his past again. But she wasn’t anymore. She had somehow found her way into my marriage without me even knowing. And Carlos had let her.But I was tired. Not the kind of tired Mum had thought I was earlier because I was pregnant.I was tired of Carlos.Tired of having to search his face for lies when he was supposed to be the one person in this world I never had to doubt.I was tired of feeling that horrible drop in my stomach every time something didn’t make sense. Before tonight, I had never realised how exhausting it was to doubt the person you loved.“I’m tired.”

Erin’s POVFor the next few weeks, I did exactly what Dr. Sasha told me to do.I changed everything I ate, checking every meal twice to make sure I was getting enough protein, vitamins, and anything else that could help our pup grow.Carlos kept his promise too.He actually cooked. Not well at first. The first meal was so salty I nearly spat it back onto the plate, and the look on his face when he tasted his own food made me laugh until my stomach hurt. But he kept trying. And somehow, between his terrible cooking, our evening walks, and the pregnancy books that seemed to be appearing in every room of the house, things between us kept getting better.Sometimes I almost forgot how close I had been to walking away from him.Almost.The worry about our baby never disappeared, though.Every morning, my hand went straight to my stomach before I was even fully awake. Was he growing? Was I eating enough? Was there something else I should be doing?‘He’s strong.’ Blue tried to calm me as she

Erin’s POV“Carlos…” I mumbled in my sleep. My hand reached out to him. My fingers brushed over cold sheets. I opened my eyes, staring at the empty space beside me.Carlos wasn’t there.I reached out again, like somehow I had missed him the first time.Nothing.Where was he?The sheets were cold. How long had he been gone?I pushed myself up too fast, panic rushing through me before I could stop it. Both hands flew straight to my stomach. The baby.I pressed my palms over the curve of my belly, holding my breath.Nothing.My heart started pounding harder.“Please.”I rubbed my stomach gently, waiting. Then a small flutter moved in my stomach.I let out a shaky breath.I looked back at Carlos’s side of the bed. The room was dark, the bathroom light off.“Carlos?”No answer.Blue stirred inside me.‘Where is he?’‘I don’t know.’I looked towards the door.He had been here when I fell asleep. I remembered his hand resting over my stomach, his fingers moving through my hair while the tabl

Erin’s POVThe car pulled into a parking spot outside Carlos’s office. I felt sick, and if I had anything left inside of me, it would have covered the car.I hadn’t said a word the whole drive here, and neither had Alan.I looked at him as he turned off the engine. “Please, Alan, don’t make me go in there.”He turned away from me, opening his door and getting out before coming to my side and opening the door.“Get out,” he ordered me.I shook my head. “No, I’m not going in there.”He let out a loud, pissed-off sigh. “Get out of the fucking car, Erin. NOW!”I looked up at him, and the man staring back at me wasn’t my brother. He was someone so consumed by his title that he no longer saw me as his sister. If I didn’t do as he said, I could get my baby hurt.He grabbed my arm.“Don’t fucking touch me.” I ripped my arm away from him. “I’ll do as you say.”I wasn’t giving up.Not yet.I got out of the car, Alan pointing towards the door. I started walking, Alan staying no more than a step
