How can someone fall in love when they don't even know who they are? At the age of ten, she was left at the orphanage without any recollection of who she was and where she came from. Twenty years later, Clara now the CEO of her own security company, SST, provides top-of-the-line security systems and technology that stamps out the competition. If only they could get the biggest shipping company in the country to upgrade their outdated system. But it seems that the CEO, Sebastian Colfer, will do everything to thwart their efforts. Or so it seems. Behind his icy demeanor, he has a hidden agenda. The mystery surrounding her appearance at the orphanage keeps her busy these days, and having somebody in her life is not part of her plan. ---=--- This book is purely fictional. Any similarities with people in real life are purely coincidental. ---=--- Sitting in the back seat of the car, Clara could feel the heat emanating from his body. His legs were spread out a little too wide, and they were rubbing against her outer thigh. She tried not to let it affect her, but his arm seemed to graze hers every time the car moved, and that unnerved her a little. They were sitting a little too close if you asked her. She tried to get away from him, as far as the space could allow, but her brother won't cooperate. He scolded her to stop squirming. She was just trying to find a comfortable position that would keep their body parts from touching. Sebastian was tormenting her and she's had enough, elbowing her brother she told him to switch places with her. ‘Are you scared of me?’ Sebastian whispered.

    1 - Installation
Clara Johnson was adding the last advanced RFID* sticker to the last post in the room. She finished the first three earlier and noticed someone was observing her every move. Max and Jeremy finished with this room a while ago. They changed all the cameras, replacing them with the new motion sensor, nocturnal, night vision security cameras with a wide range view. It was now her turn to add the finishing touches and wake up the security system. She noticed him watching her from another desk. This man would either be the head of security or the President himself because people around her avoided him like the plague. She had not looked at him yet, so she had no face to associate him with. For now, she will call him ‘Peeping Tom.’  She didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of thinking that he was unnerving her. ‘It

‘Hmph! That was impressively fast,’ Clara thinks and smiles to herself. She got a good look at him and learned her assumption was correct. He was the President, Sebastian Colfer. And he was still staring at her, very intently and with a sinister smile on his face. As she stuck the last RFID inside the room, she noticed a pair of feet right in front of her. ‘Here’s another pervert. Will I will need to take care of you too?’ she wondered. Looking at the man’s shoe size, he was probably around 6 feet tall. It will be a bit harder to ward him off because of his height, but she knows she can easily block his moves. ‘What was that sticker for?’ The man asks. She looks up from the floor. ‘Dammit, it’s the President.’ <

They impressed Sebastian. The new technology SST developed was unproven, but it looked very promising. He was glad he signed up with their company. Having the motion sensor control and wide-angle lens for the cameras was an enormous improvement over the old security system. He received a call from SST earlier that there was a last-minute change on the crew for the people assigned to perform the installation. He didn’t really care who came to do the work, as long as Clara would be there, but it was a lucky coincidence because he had all the SST executives at his behest and ready to answer all of his questions. It surprised Sebastian that they were doing the installation themselves. You would think they had people for that, but it showed how knowledgeable they were about their own product, and how dedicated they were to a job done right. Clara piqued his intere

The siblings headed back to their hotel and just had lunch at the cafe across the street. After checking their pending emails and calling the office for any updates, they took a quick nap afterward. They wanted to have enough energy for their nighttime activity, flying in that morning zapped their energy. ‘Hey guys, I want to be there at 6:30, so we can take pictures. I want to show those foos back home where we’re going,’ Max reminds them as they got ready.  He acted like he was still in college, hanging out with his friends. At SST, the policy required them to dress business casual most days. Being partial owners allowed them to occasionally break the rules. The rule was, as long as they didn’t come wearing their pajamas and beach attire, the staff could dress as casually as they wanted. Clara wanted it to

Earlier, Sebastian thought Clara looked pretty, but that was a weak word to describe her. She was nothing short of stunning. It felt like he always knew that whatever she'd wear to dinner would captivate him. She was wearing ankle-length skinny red pants that highlighted her long legs and showed off her assets, then paired it off with a silky white top that showed off her toned arms. The strappy sandals she wore gave her 3 extra inches to her height. It was really nothing special if someone else wore it, but on her, it was spectacular. She was now almost up to his eye level, and he liked the option that he could probably kiss her much easier from this height. He smiled. Her hair was curled up to one side and held up by a big sparkly comb at her nape, which exposed her neck. 'Her neck looks very appetizing right now... Hmmm.....' Read more
    6 - Dinner and Drinks
At the dinner table, after a round of pleasant conversation, Sebastian tried to fish for more information about Clara’s relationship status. He needed to know how closely connected she and Max were. ‘So tell me,’ he was zeroing in on her again, ‘Are you dating anybody right now?’ he stared straight into her eyes. ‘I don’t divulge personal information to business partners,’ she said. ‘So if I cancel your project,’ he smiled sheepishly, ‘You’ll give me the answer?’ Max and Jeremy laughed out loud without meaning to. ‘Oh, for fuck’s sake, no need to cancel anything. She’s single right now, no boyfriend or dates recently either. Clara loves calla lilies, although she insists flowers are not her thing,’ enumerated Max. ‘Trait

Suddenly Celine felt this prickling sensation like someone was staring, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw it was her guy in the dark suit. So she stared right back, issuing a challenge. ‘Oh! Hey, there, cutie! Took you a while to notice me,’ she thought. ‘Let’s see who gives up first?’ She was getting braver, not tearing her gaze away. And then he smiled, and so did she. She felt like some communication passed between them in the few seconds they stared at each other. ‘He has a cute smile, maybe I will say hi… later,’ she smiled again as she averted her eyes, playing coy. She never had luck finding anyone here in the club. Most of these men wanted hookups and nothing else. <

Celine kept scrolling the names on Max’s phone and found Lana was the most frequently dialed number. So she secretly added another Lana entry with her number in it. ‘Hehehe… He will not get my number that easily. Let him figure that out himself,’ she smiled, pleased with herself.  ‘Heeeey! What are you smiling at?’ he asked. ‘Don’t think about giving me your boss’s phone number or your favorite chicken restaurant, okay?’ he looked at the number she was entering.  She smiles again. ‘I promise I will not do that to you. Here I’ll even dial it for you so you know I’m telling the truth,’ she said, clicking on the number she added. He believed her only when he heard her phone ring. So he disconnected the call and placed his phone inside his pocket without looking at th

    9 - Sister
Clara had remembered something from her childhood. She has a sister, and they were running away from the nanny, who was upset with them for avoiding bath time by hiding in the garden. She and her sister laughed out loud in her memory, exactly the way Celine is laughing right now. There was a distinct sound to her laugh, and it brought back all of her childhood memories of Celine. Jeremy, the ever-attentive brother, noticed Clara before anybody else did. She was not laughing. Instead, tears were running down her face. He hugged her to shield her from everyone’s view and walked away with her. ‘It’s going to be okay. Let’s go somewhere,’ he whispered in Clara’s ear. ‘Uhm... I think she ate something bad. She’s not feeling well. We’ll come back right away,’ he said to the group with his back turned, shielding Clara from their eyes. Read more
    10 - Backstory (1)
Max found Jeremy and Clara huddled in the garden, sitting on a bench hidden behind an enormous planter. Clara was still crying in Jeremy’s arms.  Max asked, ‘What happened? What triggered the tears? Is she okay?’ ‘It was Celine. You made her laugh, and there was something about it that woke up all her memories. She kept saying she was her sister. We have to look into this. It might be the piece of the puzzle we were waiting for,’ Jeremy replied.  ‘We’ve been looking for kidnapping stories, and we always come up empty. Maybe you should investigate Celine, see if she has any siblings that disappeared or something. Maybe she plays an integral part in this. Max was thinking, ‘Fuck, I just met her, and we’re already ent
