125 - Epilogue
I was sitting in my living room writing up Max’s story when this alternate ending came to me and got me excited. The following chapters were going to be part of his book, but I decided you need to be rewarded for reading all the way to the end of Clara’s story. I hope you enjoy this alternate ending.

‘Clara! The plane is leaving in two hours, and there is a major accident in the 405. If we do not make it in time, you will not make your appointment.’ Sebastian yells as he walks to their bedroom. Clara's Mystery 126 - Epilogue
Max, Jeremy, and apparently her sister, Celine, were inside waiting for them, waving their hands and screaming simultaneously. Sebastian walked them back into the hallway to keep her state of undress from prying eyes. The couple laughed at their predicament as she unwrapped her legs around him. Clara gave him one last lingering kiss, and when they were ready, headed back into the room. ‘Why are you guys inside our suite? Who let you in?’ ‘We got in last night, and you said you wanted to rehearse and set up the equipment before the presentation, so here we are,’ Max said with jazz hands waving in the air. She just rolled her eyes. ‘You guys are too early. I still need a nap. Can you leave?’ she plopped down on the sofa and snuggled with a pillow. The

-=- Downstairs, the hotel staff had cleared the entire outdoor area to accommodate the most important event happening today. They place an arch covered in vines and calla lilies on the outer edge, overlooking the beach and the sea. Sebastian tried to do everything not to let the cat out of the bag. This event was going to be a surprise. And even though deep in his heart he knew her answer, that she wanted to marry him, he still couldn’t help but feel apprehensive about her reaction. Clara was not a simple person. She was very complex in her reactions and outbursts. He prayed to all the gods in heaven to help them today. There was no denying that as soon as Clara steps in front of the doors that led to the patio, she would know what he had planned for her because waiting at the door was her father, Nathan Jacobs.
Clara's Mystery 1 - Installation
Clara Johnson was attaching the last advanced RFID* sticker to the last post in the room. She finished the first three earlier and noticed someone was observing her every move. Max and Jeremy finished with this room a while ago. They changed all the cameras, replacing them with the new motion sensor, nocturnal, night vision security cameras with a wide range view. It was now her turn to add the finishing touches and wake up the security system.She first noticed him watching her from behind another desk. ‘This man would either be the head of security or the President himself.’ Clara came to this conclusion because people around them avoided him like the plague. To avoid being obvious that she knew he was staring, she looked everywhere else but at him and gave him the name, “Peeping Tom." She didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he unnerved her. ‘It doesn’t matter. I know what I’m doing, even with my eyes closed.’ This technology, developed in their own facilit

“Hmph! That was impressively fast,” Clara smiles to herself. She got a good look when she stared “Peeping Tom” down and learned her assumption was correct. He was the President of Navio International, Sebastian Colfer. Who wouldn’t recognize him, he was in every business magazine in the country. She also realized that he was still staring at her, very intently and with a sinister smile on his face.She ignored him too and went about her business. As she stuck the last RFID inside the room, she noticed a pair of feet right in front of her. ‘Here’s another pervert. Do I need to take care of you too?’ she wondered. Looking at the man’s shoe size, he was probably around 6 feet tall. It will be a bit harder to ward him off because of his height, but she knows she can easily block his advances.“What was that sticker for?” The man asks. Sebastian was impressed. The new technology SST developed was unproven, but it looked very promising. His decision to sign up with their company pleased him.Having motion sensor control and a wide-angle lens for the cameras was an enormous improvement over the old security system. It was cost-effective and covered every area that had blind spots before.Sebastian received a call from SST earlier that there was a last-minute change with the crew assigned to do the installation. He didn’t really care who came to do the work, as long as Clara would be there as promised.He was getting worried but he didn’t only have one, but three of the SST executives at his behest, ready to answer all of his questions.It surprised Sebastian that the top dogs were doing the installation themselves. He thought they had people for that, but it showed how knowledgeable they were about their own product, and how dedicated they were to a job done right. The trio headed back to their hotel and had lunch at the cafe across the street, nothing special. They were saving space for the scrumptious dinner they were having that evening. And because Sebastian was buying, the brothers were thinking of ordering their most expensive steak.After checking their pending emails and calling the office for any updates, they took a quick nap afterward. The siblings wanted to have enough energy for their nighttime activity, and waking up for the first flight that morning zapped their energy.“Hey guys, I want to be there at 6:30, so we can take pictures. I want to show those guys back home where we’re going,” Max reminds them as they got ready. Max always acts like he is still in college, hanging out with his friends. At SST, the policy required everyone to dress business casual most days. Earlier, Sebastian thought Clara looked pretty up close, but that was a weak word to describe her. To him, she was nothing short of stunning. It felt like he always knew that whatever she'd wear would captivate him. Clara was wearing ankle-length skinny red pants that highlighted her long legs and showed off her assets. She paired it with a silky white sleeveless top that showed off her toned arms. On her feet, she wore black strappy sandals that gave 3 extra inches to her height. She was now almost up to his eye level, and he liked the option that he could probably kiss her much easier from this height. He smiled. Sebastian thought she looked spectacular. Her hair was curled up to one side and held up by a big sparkly comb at her nape, exposing her neck. At the dinner table, after a round of pleasant conversation, talking about each company’s history, and the wonderful California weather, Sebastian tried to fish for more information about Clara’s relationship status. He needed to know how closely connected she and Max were.
